I now have both. I love my Xmaxx... I have begun the build on the 1/5 kraton exb, going with 1100kv max5 not sure on the servo... the both are epic in there own way... looking to race the kraton and bash the xmaxx... 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Hey my friend they both are insane trucks like you said the kraton has a wider stance then the X MAXX, I also think the X MAXX sits to high it needs the be lowered and a slammed body. I think the xmaxx and outcast exb would be better to compare to each other. Kind of a unfair comparison between the kraton and xmaxx especially with the kraton geared way higher, lower to the ground and wider plus has a bigger motor and esc just saying the outcast and xmaxx compare more in size and stance. I love how the kraton handles. I baught the first one from my hobby shop site unseen. Only thing is that the bigger air you get the easier it breaks and the parts are expensive once you compare them to Xmaxx. I suppose the Exb is a must. I just got my first Xmaxx recently for the main reason of durability overall, and parts are very reasonable. I like how truggies handle more (kraton) but durability is equally important (Xmaxx). So you can't have just one. So I drive each one a little differently
I agree the handling is night an day the Kraton knocked my socks off the power sliding etc. The X-Maxx needs Sway bars I have integy sway bars on the rear.
x maxx is one of my favorite i own 16 current models ..2 are X-maxx ,the others are Mojave exb losi SBR 2,0 Losi Dbxle 2.0 typhon exb tlr ,kyosho mp9E evo Vendetta trx-4 blazer and bronco slash 4x4 ultimate and a bunch of others ..love all RC but the Xmaxx has just been a blast and at45 mph its a beast for its size !!!
Where the xmaxx comes up short, it makes up for by being tough as nails! And I'm a arrma guy for sure. But you have to respect your competition! I have seen that xmaxx go through some shit! And keep going. KRATON is still a pimp!
I will say when it comes to wheelies both are fun but my Kraton and Notorious can wheelie till the batteries give out with the control and stability. Still like I said both are great fun.

Great video! It was fun to watch and see how different people view each truck. I have both as well but learned something today: you used two different wheel sizes on the K-EXB which puts uneven stress on the diffs. But from the video, it looks like it didn’t create any issue for you, which is interesting. Did you notice the front end wanting to dive more?

I actually geared it back on for the beach runs otherwise I am sure it would have overheated . On the stock gearing it was amazing at the beach. Full throttle tips al the way through the packs up the dunes with no heat problems🙏⚡

XMaxx for the pick! My wild driving style,I need the extra durability! I've seen XMaxx's roll over 1/8th scale truggy like speed bumps! So massive & powerful....
I bought a kraton 8 s exb and put the spectrum firma 8s esc with a 1250kv motor and that thing was a beast...... Until the very first jump it landed on its wheels didnt crash but it totaled it bent both upper chassis braces and folded the chassis up like a U busted the rear driveshaft and most of the time it would just spin the front tires so i traded it for a big rock and a granite 3s blx i owned for 1 week not one for me. I have 3 other arrmas and i swear by but not the kraton 8s not as tough as it looks.
I have the masher xps on my outcast exb 1/5 they might be good on just the front. They don't Balloon so they aren't great for backflipping but they have crazy traction

They are both nice are those copperhead tires you put on the xmaxx the exb or rtr copperheads and do they rub anywhere I saw a video where someone used the the exb copperhead tires on the xmaxx he said he had to use hub extenders so they would not rub whats your experience with them?
They are the rtr copperhead tires. Yes the wheel runs into the arms and steering links after a while but it takes a good amount of time for that to happen. I just swap out arms like every 4 months of running. 👍

Xmaxx all the way! The king of durability! I do love my EXB K8S that is beefed up, but it does break easier with bad landings due to the weight. Bash on! Do you have a link to those wheel nuts for the xmaxx? Thanks!
I don't think you can go wrong with either truck. I guess it all depends on your driving style. Xmaxx has durability for days. But the kraton seems to handle better. I love the way the Kraton flies through the air. But the Xmaxx seems to flip better. I would love to have both of them!!! 💯💯😉
Arrma exb is tough. Mother u can setup the way u wan’t Arrma tough, strong 💪 and. Overpowering R/C since the company came out and they really listen to what the people. Xmaxx u buy first thing u must buy is a minimum Max 6. And platform is olde as hell. Come. People asked for Arrma for 1/5 scale and now they have 2 ARRMA Outcast and ARRMA Kraton rtr. Then also exb. People been asking for new. Stuff like 1/6 scale all road. But now we have a copy of the 6s karton For the price of almost Arrma Outcast or Kraton 1/5 scale RTR.
Love the action shots in the sand, tons of fun to watch! Question for you - does the sand screw up the cars as bad as I'd imagine? I assume the bearings and gears and everything get worn down way faster? Especially when you're already thrashing the bearings by launching the car into orbit? LOL

I really want to buy an Xmaxx, but unless a roller version is released, I'm just not. Damn thing is just too damn slow OTB. I refuse to pay RTR money for a truck (no matter how frickin' great it is-and the Xmaxx is great) that comes with a power train that is the BARE MINIMUM to get it to do anything. I also wouldn't buy the 5th scale Kraton for that reason. I actually just ordered the EXB. I'm debating between the Castle 1100kv combo, or Max5 and 1050 Leopard. Decisions, mane, decisions 🤔
I got into the hobby a little over a week ago. Bought a used xmaxx, broke it (my fault). Already modified it and I'll be buying a kraton 8s next. This video confirmed that for me 🤣. Hang loose.
Kratons break to much even with RPM upgrades! And you cant just go to the hobby shop and buy replacement parts for the Kraton! I would not recommend people buy the Kraton or the Arrma! XMAX all the way!
Yes if the Kraton does not land perfectly on the wheels it will break. I feel that the Kraton is for the more experienced driver and the Xmaxx can be the best all around beater. They both are amazing trucks and are very different.👍⚡⚡🤩
I own a Outcast 8s myself. Its meh. It keeps breaking on me or (for lack of better words) falling apart. It is currently the worst rc i own. The X-Maxx is too clumsy for me. As far as electric RCs go, i like my Super Rock Rey the most followed by me LST 3XLE (which i retired and the Outcast was supposed to fill that void) because it is no longer made and very rare. My favorite RC period is most definitely the Losi 5ive T. Ive got 14 all together. Two 1/5 scale, two 1/6 scale, one 1/8 scale (even though 2 others i own are by manufacterer rated 1/10 scale but closer to 1/8), one 1/7 scale, five 1/10 scale (including the 2 that are closer to 1/8), a boat, and two planes.

Now waiting for the +12mm wheelhubs from integy to see if handling gets better and I get a little more clearance for the wheels too 🧐 Maybe it’s boring but the best rc is what puts the greatest smile on your face!! My mouth becomes a circle every time I‘m out with iXi🤣😉. 🤘🏻

That truck has been my favorite for a long time and I loved it way more than the version 1 k8s, but when the EXB line came out , Arrma improved so many of the weak points on the original version and I was completely blown away with the power and performance of the new EXB K8s. I own a outcast 8 s and a few Xmaxx. Outcast 8 is a handful to control. Kraton looks like a very comparable rc! Just might have to get one.

Did you leave the bigger pinion on the xmaxx when u went to the beach? Any heat issues?
I actually geared it back on for the beach runs otherwise I am sure it would have overheated . On the stock gearing it was amazing at the beach. Full throttle tips al the way through the packs up the dunes with no heat problems🙏⚡

Was looking for a Kraton6s EXB v2, but found a deal on a new X Maxx today that I couldn't pass up on. $700 with 2 NIB 6700mah Packs.
I bought a kraton 8 s exb and put the spectrum firma 8s esc with a 1250kv motor and that thing was a beast...... Until the very first jump it landed on its wheels didnt crash but it totaled it bent both upper chassis braces and folded the chassis up like a U busted the rear driveshaft and most of the time it would just spin the front tires so i traded it for a big rock and a granite 3s blx i owned for 1 week not one for me. I have 3 other arrmas and i swear by but not the kraton 8s not as tough as it looks.
I have the masher xps on my outcast exb 1/5 they might be good on just the front. They don't Balloon so they aren't great for backflipping but they have crazy traction

They are both nice are those copperhead tires you put on the xmaxx the exb or rtr copperheads and do they rub anywhere I saw a video where someone used the the exb copperhead tires on the xmaxx he said he had to use hub extenders so they would not rub whats your experience with them?
They are the rtr copperhead tires. Yes the wheel runs into the arms and steering links after a while but it takes a good amount of time for that to happen. I just swap out arms like every 4 months of running. 👍

She does get pretty warm on the gearing I have. It can range between 120 and 180. I am going to put fans on it though so that should help.👍

I don't think you can go wrong with either truck. I guess it all depends on your driving style. Xmaxx has durability for days. But the kraton seems to handle better. I love the way the Kraton flies through the air. But the Xmaxx seems to flip better. I would love to have both of them!!! 💯💯😉

Arrma exb is tough. Mother u can setup the way u wan’t Arrma tough, strong 💪 and. Overpowering R/C since the company came out and they really listen to what the people. Xmaxx u buy first thing u must buy is a minimum Max 6. And platform is olde as hell. Come. People asked for Arrma for 1/5 scale and now they have 2 ARRMA Outcast and ARRMA Kraton rtr. Then also exb. People been asking for new. Stuff like 1/6 scale all road. But now we have a copy of the 6s karton For the price of almost Arrma Outcast or Kraton 1/5 scale RTR.

Love the action shots in the sand, tons of fun to watch! Question for you - does the sand screw up the cars as bad as I'd imagine? I assume the bearings and gears and everything get worn down way faster? Especially when you're already thrashing the bearings by launching the car into orbit? LOL

I really want to buy an Xmaxx, but unless a roller version is released, I'm just not. Damn thing is just too damn slow OTB. I refuse to pay RTR money for a truck (no matter how frickin' great it is-and the Xmaxx is great) that comes with a power train that is the BARE MINIMUM to get it to do anything.
I also wouldn't buy the 5th scale Kraton for that reason. I actually just ordered the EXB. I'm debating between the Castle 1100kv combo, or Max5 and 1050 Leopard.

Kratons break to much even with RPM upgrades! And you cant just go to the hobby shop and buy replacement parts for the Kraton! I would not recommend people buy the Kraton or the Arrma! XMAX all the way!
Yes if the Kraton does not land perfectly on the wheels it will break. I feel that the Kraton is for the more experienced driver and the Xmaxx can be the best all around beater. They both are amazing trucks and are very different.👍⚡⚡🤩

I own a Outcast 8s myself. Its meh. It keeps breaking on me or (for lack of better words) falling apart. It is currently the worst rc i own. The X-Maxx is too clumsy for me. As far as electric RCs go, i like my Super Rock Rey the most followed by me LST 3XLE (which i retired and the Outcast was supposed to fill that void) because it is no longer made and very rare. My favorite RC period is most definitely the Losi 5ive T. Ive got 14 all together. Two 1/5 scale, two 1/6 scale, one 1/8 scale (even though 2 others i own are by manufacterer rated 1/10 scale but closer to 1/8), one 1/7 scale, five 1/10 scale (including the 2 that are closer to 1/8), a boat, and two planes.

Ok, truth is I love my Xmaxx! I only own a k6sexb bought on the first day it was available in germany 🇩🇪 so I don’t care for brands! But most time and money I spent for my Xmaxx- trying to keep it as light as possible I figure out what to upgrade step by step and I‘m very happy with it now! 👍🏻 Instead of the motor (tp 5670 1460kv) and the copperhead2 exb tires I just add parts like c-hingepins, hd arms, etc. what just add few more gramms. Now waiting for the +12mm wheelhubs from integy to see if handling gets better and I get a little more clearance for the wheels too 🧐
Maybe it’s boring but the best rc is what puts the greatest smile on your face!! My mouth becomes a circle every time I‘m out with iXi🤣😉. 🤘🏻

That truck has been my favorite for a long time and I loved it way more than the version 1 k8s, but when the EXB line came out , Arrma improved so many of the weak points on the original version and I was completely blown away with the power and performance of the new EXB K8s.
