its interesting because, NMD knows about the player but SS doesn't canonically know (atleast as far as we know) so we can only assume NMD told SS about it and now they aren't trying to kill Frisk/Shifty, they are tryna stop the player by combining their determination. i can only assume that by the end of a scenario like this, both of their souls would be fused or one would take the other's soul so that they take controls of the timeline back.
