I agree with you on the sound profile. It is kinda bassy, especially when compared to the Buds+ I owned, however changing the sound profile in the settings has helped tremendously. Doesnt go as neutral as the Buds+, but good enough for what they are.
We also gotta keep in mind the original buds were $130 at launch. The buds+ were $150 at launch. These are only $100. So taking away wireless charging, getting rid of the two way speakers, and some other in app functions kind of makes sense. We get what we paid for. These are probably the best ear buds for price range of $70-$100 if we’re being honest.

All these features you mentioned that Samsung did not add to Buds FE, mainly the lack of wireless charging, would make the earbuds more expensive. I believe the idea here is to be more accessible like the FE smartphone, for example, which does not have some features as the flagships, like the S21 and S21 FE. The average price for Buds 2 pro is $ 170, and the Buds FE launch price is $ 99, and considering Samsung's launch strategy, we will be able to find for less in a few months. One thing that made me happy about the Buds FE is the design bringing back the flippers that made the Buds+ so unique, in my opinion. I was wondering about buying the Buds 2 Pro on 2023 black Friday, but I might consider the Buds FE as an option too.
it's just a commodity, when you're done using them, you just leave them on a wireless charger and forget about them, is a little less tedious than plugging them every time you need a charge
It is also convenient. Some devices have wireless sharing so that will allow you to use your phone, for example, to charge your buds and other devices so you don't need to bring so many wires for charging all your devices.
What i do sometimes either with my watch or buds if they need charging and I don't have another charger is wireless power sharing. Plug in phone to charge and enable power sharing to simultaneously charge my phone and watch or buds.
Just got it a few hours ago. Its not bad. Anc is good while listening to music, alone tho i still like 5-10% of the area. Sound is just a good 7 or 8. Sounded like my 1st gen razer hammerhead that has no anc.
I was skeptical of these only because of the lack of Qi charging... but knowing Samsung... these are probably going to become giveaways on flagship Samsung phones this holiday season... so I'm good with them.
I think the buds + are the best ever. I don't understand why they were able to put such big battery back then but now can't?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
I got mine free from my S23 FE. 1st time i am using after 1month and i just tried the noise cancelling option and WOW, it really does block the noises around 😮👌

These aren't going to ne my main earbuds so it doesn't have to have all the bells and whistles. Going to keep these in my car to use in the event I forget my regular earbuds, etc.
You can adjust the passthrough level in the app, as well as soften or clarify sounds coming through. Turned up it seems it actually amplifies surroundings a bit, which I really like as typically playing music while using passthrough hurts my ability to hear regardless. However, since these slightly amplify sound, especially voice, it's the only set of headphones I've used where I can actually have a conversation while listening to something without struggling to hear (and I own some bone conduction headphones from Shokz).
Honestly, I think these are great. Biggest problem is I think that the FE and the Buds2 will be at the same price where I'm from so I'm anxious for your comparison!
Hello Mike, I just got the buds four days ago and well, it started having problems. That being despite with ANC or Ambient on, there's this noise coming from the right bud, sounds like wind. Any thoughts on this because I've been doing a bit of research for it and only a few show up. I hope you can get to see this comment at some point. Thank you
I'm trying to figure out if its worth upgrading from my buds plus (The previous model with wing tips). So far it looks like a step down....No wireless charging, less battery life, less water resistance. I guess the economy is bad and Samsung is creating economy class products that more people can afford? I'd like to see a newer wing tip version exactly like the Buds+ but that are waterproof so I can wear them in the shower, and have a secondary touch sensor thats easy to operate so I can control volume as well as the normal interface controls. Currently you can enable the edge tap function for this but it doesn't work very well.
I hope you can do the full comparison between samsung buds, and include numbers pls (ANC, transparency, battery..more if you can). Thank you and hope the best for you
The pill shape case need to come back too. It’s very unique and different from other brands. I started off with a galaxy phone but now using an iPhone and I still use the buds+ cos of the shape of the case and comfort from the buds themselves.
Yes I would like to see how they compared to the Galaxy buds 2 ? Do they amplify the noise around you and the other person on the phone hear all the background noise? Also which one has a better mic or are they the same?
Had about 2 months, and now suddenly one bud is burbling and high frequency squealing every now and then, even when connected via bluetooth but not listening to music😢

Hello Mike, awesome review. I can't afford them right now😅 but I know I one day will be able to buy the stuff you review so I still enjoy watching your videos... Please do the ear buds comparison video. We will appreciate
One of the things that wound me up about my buds2, was that the charging case kept hetting lost because it's so small, and the tracking features wouldn't work when the case was closed 🤦
Bought the FEs on sale for $95 down from $140(Canadian), the value is insanely good compared to the rest of the lineup, the 2 was also on sale, but was still double the price
You are hands down one of the most reputable channels I've come across. Thank you for being true to the cause. I look for someone who gives an honest opinion, rather than just being a monetary proprietary person. I'm a fan!
Hi Mike I want to ask a question about your job. If I want to work in the field of technology and make videos I have to buy every one of these products? Because I live in Turkey and there is a law here that if you open the product box, you cannot return it. May I know how you prepare the products? I would be very grateful if you could answer me and guide me
Still use my bud plus, was waiting for them to bring back the wing tips. I will wait for the pro version and then buy several, just in case Samsung removes the wing tips again.
Looking at these for running in, heard great things about it. Although these came out in October... Wonder if Samsung will make a buds fe 2024 version that has all of the missing features?
Hello Mike, thanks for the video and the review. Could you please specify, even though buds FE would definitely WORK with an iphone, what features do work and which ones do not work, since there is no app for ios etc.?
@@asmatullahkhantareen9793 they're decent but since there is no app for iOS you'd need another android or windows device to configure them. Buds work fine, very comfortable actually and the sound is rather bass/mids focused. Although these are my go-to TWS buds now, I would not recommend buds FE at full price - samsung gives them 'for free' with new tablets and phones in certain regions. Tradein is also very good in NA from what I've heard.
Hey Mike I have a question about Samsung galaxy buds, can I answer messenger & viber calls using double tap on them or I can only do that on regular calls only, in my Iphone I can answer all type of calls but with S24 I use double tap to answer & end calls for only whatsapp & regular calls Do you have a way to fix this
I feel RUclipsrs get more hung up by features that most of use don't worry about. I know a lot of people and no one I know uses wireless charging. Go figure, its still wired anyway. Samsung would do well having a bud that meets those who want to use for sports or even simple tasks like walking. I have the Buds 2 and when wearing a hat in the cold weather it just does not stay in. The freebies you get with new phones are always black. Now I'd probably by black over white but it would be great if they just had a little detailing that you can see them if you drop them. Its not so much that I do drop them but the fear is present.
I just got these from amazon for a good deal of 5000 rupees and really loved them so far. Left bud feels like it doesn't fit that well when compared to the right one. Any fix for that?
Hey Mike, nice video!! Think you can compare these Galaxy buds against the Soundcore Liberty 4 NC? I think they're their closest competitors, and would be intersting to compare Sound Quality, ANC, and other features...
I purchased them to try it out but I had no control of the touch commands because I’m on iPhone. The Galaxy buds app didn’t recognize the FE. I could pause/play music but I couldn’t go back and forth through songs and that was a deal breaker. I had to return them
Great rundown, Mike. :) If you can get them for around $60, I could see them being at least a decent buy. I think $100 is too much, though. The lack of wireless charging, no premium codecs, and no tapping the side for the volume all bother me.
@@VinnyUnionI just don't understand how this FE earbuds is pricier than the Buds 2(not the Pro). I know the Buds 2 has less battery life but the sound quality is way better IMO.
@@VinnyUnion Who's "we"? :) Don't get me wrong. I understand the lack of LDAC playback or aptX. I don't expect premium codecs for $100. It wouldn't be impossible, but $100 with ANC *and* premium codecs is kind of rare. But wireless charging should be a gimme at that price. As Mike said, they could've included it. And I could even forgive the lack of wireless charging if they'd included true multipoint functionality, but it only works with Samsung devices. I suppose that's forgivable, since it's a "Fan Edition", and they'd probably expect you to have a Samsung device, but other companies are putting out buds that are agnostic in their multipoint functionality. When I think about the FE line, I think about good bang for the buck. I had the S20FE for a while. That hit above its weight class, for what it cost at the time. Like I said, for $60, these would be an easy buy, but I don't see $100.

What is your regular buds?
As someone who has an android phone and doesn't care about wireless charging, I'll be picking these up. Thanks for the review!
Yes, I would watch that Samsung buds comparison
Honestly, I think these are great. Biggest problem is I think that the FE and the Buds2 will be at the same price where I'm from so I'm anxious for your comparison!
These honestly seem like the buds 2 in the packaging of the buds plus. Description of sound and NC is very comparable. Definitely go with the fe IMO
Sorry to ask, but wht do you mean by in the case. When ur comparing battery life you say in the case, how do you use the earbuds if their in the case?
Buds 2 user here. love them and even got a replacement bud when i lost one
Got them for free in the launch bundle of the S23 FE, got the phone for $380 and these just come with it, couldnt be happier
Thank you
Same issue here.
same here
I'm trying to figure out if its worth upgrading from my buds plus (The previous model with wing tips).
Thank you and hope the best for you
I was able to stack multiple discounts and get a pair of these for around $30, for that price point they're hard to beat.
I had the 2's and the 2 pros, blew through them in less than 6 months, I miss my plus ones so much, and I can't wait to pick these up
The pill shape case need to come back too.
I'm in the UK and loved the buds+ I own buds 2pro & after purchasing the buds fe you want my comment the fe are wicked I love them
When I looked at the website and saw these were $59 I thought it was a mistake
Glad to see theres no alarming problems
Hey, tap to play/stop, double tap to skip and triple tap to go back are there, but turned off
Had about 2 months, and now suddenly one bud is burbling and high frequency squealing every now and then, even when connected via bluetooth but not listening to music😢
Hi Mike, I watch ur videos and yes I would like to see a bubs comperecis for the mic
Do these give a pressure relief when transparency/ambient mode is actiavted, like the Airpods pro and pro 2 do?
This is the most detailed, Honest review, I mistakenly bought this device and thought it has wireless charging but after using it, the noise cancelation is very impressive for me
I bought them today by watching your video comoair. Wery happy, sound is awersome, it fit into ear perfectly.
Hello Mike, awesome review. I can't afford them right now😅 but I know I one day will be able to buy the stuff you review so I still enjoy watching your videos... Please do the ear buds comparison video. We will appreciate
Got these for 49.99 @ best buy 🔥🔥
Please make The comparison on all of them
I have the buds 2, and I find that they are good enough for movement as long as you keep pushing them in and you keep them clean.
One of the things that wound me up about my buds2, was that the charging case kept hetting lost because it's so small, and the tracking features wouldn't work when the case was closed 🤦
Yeah, tracking features for buds are a joke
Still proudly using my 2yo buds plus. I love to see rhe wingtips come back. How do these compare to the other ones out now like the 2, 2 pro, and pro?
Compare all of the Samsung Buds please! Buds & Buds+ are GOATs🔥
Do these really offer language translation?
Yes we want a ultimate galaxy buds comparison ❤💯💯
How does the audio quality compare to the Galaxy Buds Live?
most definitely make a comparison video. that's what we all want and your comparisons of pretty good
Do a comparison between Buds+ and FE
Bought the FEs on sale for $95 down from $140(Canadian), the value is insanely good compared to the rest of the lineup, the 2 was also on sale, but was still double the price
I bought two pairs and both right side buds stopped working. One pair lasted two and a half months and the other lasted four months
You are hands down one of the most reputable channels I've come across. Thank you for being true to the cause. I look for someone who gives an honest opinion, rather than just being a monetary proprietary person. I'm a fan!
Got my pair today and I can say I’m happy with the sound.
The wing tips are the best. I have the other Samsung buds and they slide out eventually
Also review Baseus MA 10
Im listening on my GB+ 11 hours of play time Samsung should have brought that back
Hi Mike I want to ask a question about your job.
I would love a big Samsung earbud comparison please O.B. Many thanks as ever.
Looking at these for running in, heard great things about it. Although these came out in October... Wonder if Samsung will make a buds fe 2024 version that has all of the missing features?
Yes! It would be great if you could make a Samsung Buds comparison with some key points such as comfort, sound quality, and other features
O'Brian, how can I buy some of the earbuds that you have reviewed from you? Love your reviews, very objective
Yes to the comparison video my man.
Hey @mikeobrienmedia I have the Galaxy buds plus because of your recommendation from years ago, how would you compare these to them?
Hello Mike, thanks for the video and the review. Could you please specify, even though buds FE would definitely WORK with an iphone, what features do work and which ones do not work, since there is no app for ios etc.?
There is an app for Windows, where can configure the controls.
@@centuriomacro9787 do these settings remain after pairing with another device though? ty.
How is your experience with your buds
@@asmatullahkhantareen9793 they're decent but since there is no app for iOS you'd need another android or windows device to configure them. Buds work fine, very comfortable actually and the sound is rather bass/mids focused. Although these are my go-to TWS buds now, I would not recommend buds FE at full price - samsung gives them 'for free' with new tablets and phones in certain regions. Tradein is also very good in NA from what I've heard.
Hey Mike I have a question about Samsung galaxy buds, can I answer messenger & viber calls using double tap on them or I can only do that on regular calls only, in my Iphone I can answer all type of calls but with S24 I use double tap to answer & end calls for only whatsapp & regular calls
Do you have a way to fix this
Yes, please make a Samsung Buds comparison video! Please include the Sony Linkbuds S in that comparison too :)
I got these on sale for $20 off PLUS the $20 trade in. really good deal
Still on my buds+ was thinking of getting these for an slight upgrade but now it seems to have more downgrades than up.
I just got these from amazon for a good deal of 5000 rupees and really loved them so far. Left bud feels like it doesn't fit that well when compared to the right one. Any fix for that?
Buds comparations pls
Also y not compare the S23fe with the rest of the family like the a54 and the s23?
Hey Mike, nice video!! Think you can compare these Galaxy buds against the Soundcore Liberty 4 NC? I think they're their closest competitors, and would be intersting to compare Sound Quality, ANC, and other features...
I purchased them to try it out but I had no control of the touch commands because I’m on iPhone. The Galaxy buds app didn’t recognize the FE. I could pause/play music but I couldn’t go back and forth through songs and that was a deal breaker. I had to return them
Great rundown, Mike. :)
If you can get them for around $60, I could see them being at least a decent buy. I think $100 is too much, though. The lack of wireless charging, no premium codecs, and no tapping the side for the volume all bother me.
This is FE, Fan Edition, this what we want. Lack of wireless charging, no premium codecs, etc.
@@VinnyUnionI just don't understand how this FE earbuds is pricier than the Buds 2(not the Pro). I know the Buds 2 has less battery life but the sound quality is way better IMO.
@@robinyumnam2646 it stopped making sense a long time ago. Long, long time ago.
@@VinnyUnion Who's "we"? :)
Don't get me wrong.
@@BrianHartman that was colossal heavy sarcasm on my end in my first comment.
Would be appreciated that you could bring time stamp back for each section of the review video, if it is not too much works for you.
