John Myung's bass lines blow me away. The man is legendary... and I don't think he gets as much recognition as he deserves. Quite a unique player and composer.
The way how DT composes is that Petrucci and Jordan are writing all the riffs down. Myung still has to play it, but the inventors are Mr P and J

I am so thankful I got to hear count of Tuscany live this year on tour. Such an amazing musical journey. Now I just hope they film a DVD of the tour for prosperity 🙏

Most bands play 7 songs and make 25 minutes... These guys filled an entire concert with it

Absolutely amazing show!! they improved a lot their production with the pre recorded second guitars and extra vocals! sounds amazing!
Yesssss...I am in the camp of not knocking any bands for having pre-recorded backing tracks, so long as the main performance comes thru. Just sounds better!
Labrie really needed it, you can just see he's struggling to sound good so I'm glad they made that decision

Honest sound, good performance, very good especially for James Labrie who still hit most of the high notes of the complex repertory… gotta be exceptional to sing in that way on your 50’

I'm sorry, I'm a huge DT fan, have been for almost 30 years, but I can't say James is singing well. In fact, he hasn't sounded great live for many many years. You'll find a good performance here and there, but this ☝️is the standard .
@@periclesrocha just look at the editing skills for any performance they released to disc. London is a great example of post editing to make him sound half decent

For those criticizing JL, he deserves it. The only time he sounds off is when he switches a lower note for a higher one.
Why doesn't he just stick to the recording? He sounds great most of the time, even when he has to sing a lower note than the album. The problem is that he chooses to sing higher than he has to so damn often...

I loved the intro. I love that Petrucci is always stretching to be a better player, writer, & person. The guys sound great and are tight. Those who bash the band have no idea how hard it is to play as one note for note amid time signatures. I have been a fan since '93.James set a new standard, as a vocalist I learned so much from him. It hurts my heart to watch him. Robert Plant's vocals changed too. I love Labrie, I do, but he made me cringe watching this. God Bless you all!

DT is my favorite band of all time. Guys...what are they going to do about the vocals? I LOVE James but he didnt hit one single note this entire show. not one

What I notice about Labrie is that his range is still there but the control and sustain is weakening. He looks like he's always out of breath.
All he needs is to use lozenges and quit consuming dairy products - instant "oil change" for his voice - that will significantly improve his vocal control, Passagio and sustain.

i mean he is walking fast for 1:18h concentrating on high hard notes being nearly 60. people age and not all singers goes in the same way like steven tyler bruce dickson and others. but yeah nothing new among dt fans

i think this is the bigger issue with Labries vocals. its not necessarily the high notes that he misses now and then, but this very simple passage that he messes up. It’s like he tries creating new melodie’s for the lines instead of just simply singing the easy stuff. It would go a long way to helping their live performances. It seems like something he’s really started doing more of as of late.

A Labrie siempre le tendré respeto y admiración, se lo ganó desde la reliquia de su primer disco con la banda y demas cosas que hizo a partir de allí, pero creo que ya está en una epoca donde la voz ya no le da mas, esto lo empecé a notar a partir de la gira Chaos in Motion cuando los vi en vivo, en la que en esos años comenzaba a tener algunos altibajos. Lo que nunca me esperé de DT es que usaran voces grabadas de JL para acompañarlo así mismo en las vocales. Algo tienen que hacer, bajarle algunos semitonos o encontrar a alguien que tenga una voz parecida (esto no creo que lo hagan), pero algo tienen que hacer.

Desde la gira del systematic chaos ya no es constante en su capacidad vocal. Y desde 2017 en la gira de aniversario del Images ya es lamentable su nivel.
Los vi 3 veces este año, en Rock In Río, en Buenos Aires y en Chile, créeme que estando ahí mismo la experiencia es totalmente diferente, James Labrie cantó espectacular en los 3 conciertos. Si bien tiene pistas pregrabadas, la verdad eso a mí no me molesta, creo que es un buen recurso para apoyarse sobretodo considerando que las pistas no cantan por él, es decir no es playback, solo un apoyo. Yo creo que hay Labrie para rato, lo que queda es disfrutar y apoyar, no volverá a tener 20 años y es ley de la vida.
Hay que ser sinceros, casi los tenores pierden rango al llegar a cierta edad. Geddy Lee sólo daba lástima los últimos años y aunque afectaba al sonido en vivo de Rush, todos lo aceptábamos por gran trayectoria del músico. Hay que acostumbrarse al nuevo sonido de James, así va a ser de ahora en adelante.

I loved this band for the past 20 years but LaBrie has become a TERRIBLE live singer. He's fantastic on records but live... hell no. I don't even say it's his fault because he's heading towards his 60's and they've constantly been touring and recording for the past 30 years with very hard songs to sing so of course his voice is pretty much done for good. If they don't want to throw him out, which I also understand since they seem to be very close to each other, then please just record and release albums and play shows every other weekend but no tours with 200+ shows anymore. Damn, LaBrie was at his peak during the Octavarium tour but has become worse and worse and worse since then.
Mangini needs to be louder in the mix... This tour has been having bad mangini mix. I saw them in California and the drums were barely audible. Drums are better here but base drum and some cymbals are lost in the mix.

Se imaginan a Dream Theater con un tipo como Russell Allen por ejemplo? DT es mi banda favorita desde hace muchos años pero JP se tiene que dar cuenta que tiene que dejar ir a LaBrie. En los discos lo tunean bien, en vivo ya no hay nada que hacer. DT es demasiado buena banda para que cante LaBrie en este momento. Es entendible, las voces se gastan mucho con los años, pero James ya queda en otro plano al lado de los demás. No nos engañemos más.
DT ya es una banda madura, ninguno de sus miembros cambiará a menos que uno de ellos renuncie. Que se vaya Labrie de DT a estas alturas es como pensar que Metallica se quede sin Lars Ulrich, a pesar de que no es un buen baterista.

Strumentisti eccezionali, ma artisti così, non possono mettere spudoratamente, in un concerto dal vivo, le basi preregistrate per sostenere la voce del cantante... Si svilisce l'altissima qualità dei concerti..
La Brie dovrebbe limitarsi alle incisioni, dove puoi fare quello che vuoi con qualsiasi voce, ma dal vivo, la cosa diventa imbarazzante, anche perchè la musica dei DT presenta estreme difficoltà per un cantante..

I’ve always felt that James LaBrie gets no love from the Front of House sound guy…and this includes everything since Living In Tokyo…extra dry vocals, no compression, specially with the guy struggling. 🤷🏻♂️
