I think 1 of 2 things will happen: WB wouldn't care because they are allergic to money, "Let's make an Arkham game for the NeoGeo!" Or They do thing Nintendo did with Chibi Robo. If this game fails, the Arkham series is done for and studios might even shut down.
I can't imagine that even 2 whole percent of the Arkham fanbase will purchase an entire device just for a sub-par game in comparison to what *we're* used to. It doesn't help that this game will instantly be uploaded to RUclips the moment it comes out
Sub-par? Where did you get that? VR is automatically elevates anything it features! But you're right about the uploads. If you don't know vr, you'll think you saw the game, and never know what you missed.
Since the gameplay reveal we just got I've seen a lot of people say they're getting a Quest 3 for thus game. Many who are in the Arkham community. So definitely more than 2 people. Hopefully you can give it a shot too
Eh, I've never had a vr device before and I've been itching to play resident evil 4 vr for a while now. This Batman game releasing might be a good enough reason to buy a new device
Just saw the new trailer that dropped and I am presently surprised. I knew it would be good considering the last game they made, but I was not expecting this. I tip my hat to Camoflaj.
I think WB Games Montreal will be hit the most since they have failed twice in a row with Gotham Knights and SSKTJL however Rocksteady only had SSKTJL and they aren't developing Arkham Shadow so it will only affect WB
making it VR and not a Origins type game is insane and probably will cause it to flop. Origins was not perfect, but it's still great even if it re-uses stuff from city. the whole story was different and batman was straight up savage. i want to see more of that batman. and it cannot be done in VR (in my opinion)
If you watched the devs' interviews, you'd know that's exactly what you're gonna get. A character progression starting from savagery. What do you think cannot be done in vr? I can't think of a single game aspect, be it storytelling, immersion or action, that wouldn't be much superior in vr.
The devs seem passionate and really care about the Arkham franchise ,they played all Arkham games to figure things out ,even blackgate ,they seem excited about the game and confident in it ,so I am interested to see how it turns out and might later on try as much as I can to get meta quest 3 to try it out and play other vr games I found interesting, especially since meta quest 3 can work on its own without the need of pc,especially since according to the interviews the game included everything from free flow predator gliding and detective mode and more ,so I uhh..am sure very interested to see how that exactly works
I would like to think that regardless it'll mean more from the franchise preferably for the better specifically Batman Arkham games for console or at the very least an origins remaster so people can understand the lore leading up to Shadows on current gen hardware 🙏
I think it will be a decent time. The devs seem exceptionally passionate and what we've seen of it seems to have a much better grasp on the Arkham tone and feel than... Certain other games. But I still think it will end up flopping just because of the VR. I know I'm not buying a Meta Quest for one vaguely interesting game. Half Life Alyx didn't coax me into VR and I doubt this will either. And I'm sure the same can br said for many fans.
In my opinion whatever happens whit Arkham Shadow, if is successful or not it really doesn't matter. The Arkham series post Arkham Knight whit Suicide Squad was prety much the end for a lot of people to say it's over. After all everyone can decide for themselves witch is what matters the most. I'm happy there are fans who are exited for Arkham Shadow and whatever the future holds for the series. It's win-win situation for both sides because move on can imagine their own continuetion in whatever way they want.
Prepare, you'll have your mind blown! Even if somehow you wouldn't like this game (I can't imagine that), there's already a ton of great stuff on Q3, and many more to come.
Of course it will. This game is exclusive to a device most people don’t have and not many people are going to spend hundreds of dollars buying a device just so they can buy another game. And they made this a VR game instead of letting rocksteady cook with those legendary game mechanics they debuted in 2009
Personally I believe the new Batman game is gonna be the shortest in the series, from asylum, city and knight. *I've never played origins but since it's vr I can't see it being too huge or long. I also think it'll just be a mid noting too special forgotten game in a year but I really love the batman Arkham series just that games nowadays are nothing like how they're used too plus the industry and all. *edit I do think the trailer looks pretty good, it'll definitely be something to play and attach to for a few years but again I haven't seen any game play and the it being on vr kinda has it's hurdles.
Good video. I personally don't want it to fail, but I think it will. If it was just VR across multiple platforms then I think it would've had a chance, but it's only on the Meta Quest 3. There is also the issue with the economy and I don't see a lot of people going out and buying a Meta Quest 3 for this game. They're at $500 last I checked and that's a lot of money. You're talking about $500 to possibly play one game or the choice between a PS5 and xbox. I just don't see this selling well. That's sad as I love these games. I have played them a bunch over the years having a combined 500 hours clocked in over Asylum, City, Origins and Knight on PC alone (Knight being the most played thanks to mods).
@@Zoned24 Yeah I think the story is going to be good, but the choice in sticking to one platform is what's going to set it up to fail. I've watched the two Q&As they've had and they seem really passionate about the project so I think they'll deliver on the story at least.
It's a platform seller, its success will be judged by the Q3 units it moves. I cannot see it failing. Right now, there's only Q3 for 500, but we're expecting a Q3 S announced at Meta Connect in september, which will be 300-400, and very likely coming with this game, as they did with Q3 and Asgard's Wrath. At least try it via a friend. There's much more great games on the Quest than just this, and many more coming soon. It's no less of a value than any other console, in fact, I think it's the most versatile and value-for-bucks. You don't even need a tv or monitor for this. If I had to choose between a console and a Quest, it would be the Quest, it's a no-brainer - and I'm not alone. There are many people who not just stay, but can't go back after vr.
@@gyorgyboszormenyi9078 Yeah I didn’t hear about one being maybe $300-$400 that would be a bit more enticing. I don’t think I will be fully converted but it would be nice to have an alternative way to play.
