I still feel like he'd be wise to wish for for just another inch of clearance eh, bloody hell that's pushing the limits of what ya can do in that truck before ya start doing a little damage eh
Skilled driving. It's an art to see someone 4WD like this. Beats watching all those idiots that just rev the ring out of their cars to get anywhere. Good work!
Really well done and I love how the spotter gave precise information to the driver... and the rolling rock on the last challenge just showing us how steep it really is
As with any medium, the purpose of editing is to keep viewers entertained. If videos contained the full-length material, people will get bored pretty quickly. The missing parts are mostly the driver/spotter discussing lines or the vehicle reversing back down to try a new line.
Thanks! I used the inbuilt stabilisation features of the video camera - I think it was a Panasonic HDC-HS60. I now have a later model V720M with 5-axis stabilisation and it works noticeably better, which an be seen in my recent Amarok video.
Impressive driving skills and also proves that Toyota has shown the world that their SUVs are most reliable and can go anywhere facing tough places climbing hills and rocks that no any other SUVs can do and not get stuck in deep muddy places.
The Landcruiser Prado is available in Australia, UK and south American countries. They are most popular in series 90 (Colorado), 120 and 150. They share components with 4runners, Hilux, Tacomas and the FJ Cruiser.
Thats impressive. Didnt realise these cars were so capable of extreme off roading. Guess that ladder frame chassis makes it a tough workhorse. They are expensive new in the UK but worth it, although way out my league currently :( Thing is, you cant imagine it ever breaking down.. Would last me for decades ! Have to wait for a few years before I can even attempt to buy one of these. It would have to be second hand though, but it would still last me a very long time. A car for everything, for all weather and all terrain.
Nice to see someone actually using their Land Cruiser. I used to own an FJ Cruiser and was amazed at how well it crawled over terrain like this. It had a manual trans. which I feel works a little smoother than the auto as you can lug it down to about 400 RPM and it still moved where the auto has to be revved more. Great video and great vehicle. thanks for posting.
Nice video, I just bought the diesel auto version of this car and I'm liking it,, (coming from a dmax) very impressed with the climb without lockers. Now I'm looking forward to mods and crawling around W.A.
Here in Australia it is available with a 4.0L V6 petrol or a 3.0L 4 cylinder T.Diesel . In the U.S , it is sold under the brand Lexus , under the name plate Lexus 470 LX
You should really consider lockers for that rig. It wouldn't help the lack of ground clearance, or articulation, but lockers would stop most of your wheel spin and greatly increase traction. And I agree with one of the comments. Good driving skills, in deed.
i know prado its a good 4x4 but trust me (sand and rock driver) the driver over here is an excellent driver he knows exactly how much power should the car give and smart user of diff lock .
You use crawl control, or simple trackshion working? Rear axle lock? Because the active trackshion and crowl control and rear lock on 4.0, not found on 2.7, only simple trackshion, whether 2.7 will be as good or not..
Nice work mate I've got a lifted Kakadu with 18" cooper Zeons, snorkel lift etc and they still amaze me how good they are off road....if your game enough.
Thanks for the comments rcmaster1029 and NizR33. Of course this is an edited video. In real life there were a couple more failed attempts, particularly on the climb at 6mins.
From the video I can see the tyres are Yokohama Geolander AT/S. I am looking to change to 265/70R17 too and these are one option. My side steps are mangled just from going through sand LOL - I also made the mistake of getting my 150 in black - shows every scratch from the bush
no you did not understand i meant how he feel on spphalt prado 2.7???if you can answer me please!i want to byu praod 150 new with engine 2.7 standart complectation or 4.0 engine prestige.i drive 90 percents on asphalt and it is very interesting
In all my driving I've never seen a manual go smoother than an auto in this kind of terrain, so if you can honestly drive manual smoother than an auto over this kind of terrain, I commend you. Auto's have a liquid filled Torque Converter which allows the driver to adjust throttle and speed gradually and smoothly, whilst the clutch in a manuals tends to just be on or off. Of course extremely low range gears would eliminate these issues altogether.
Those are all valid points about the Hilux, at least for old models (the newer models are quite low). However, Hilux's have a major compromise - leaf suspension. In this terrain, coil suspension far outperforms the Hilux's leaf suspension, providing smoother articulation and more stability.
That 4x4 did not have any protection installed, but it did have 2" suspension lift and upgraded tyre size (265/70R17). I would always recommend at least a suspension lift and upgraded tyres.
Sorry I dont know what Steven (owner of that 150) was running on that trip. I've just been on that trail the other day with my 90's Prado and ran 17.5 rear and 21 front (with 255/85R16's). Unfortunately that killed another front CV, which again proves I shouldn't go lower than 22 on the fronts. Too much traction = something else must give way.
Awesome...I'm about to buy one of these but at $60tk don't think i'd be game to take it on this track...but good to see someone do it.....I was cringing a bit. Did u get any damage underneath? what brand lift kit is it? What tyres are u running and was it a 3litre D4D auto....The ARB bar and snorkel look great...thanks for the show...great thanks
@GazDogNoosa G'day Gaz, OME lift, petrol engine. He bent the side steps a bit, scratched the aux tank bash plate and the front cross member a couple times. Nothing major unless you actually like side steps!! Don't know what AT tyres they are but pretty sure it's an upgraded size (265/70R17), and he's looking to upgrade to 255/80R17. BTW, it's a friends car (mine is an big silver 95 series) - to see his channel search for spitfireslw
I've just been on this trail again with a mix of vehicles, including a Hliux. As expected, the Hilux was quite bouncy. Have a look at my recent videos and let me know what you think ;)
This guy was calm, cool, collected and obviously experienced...nicely done!
Good work!
+robit28 Totally agree!
Excellent driving. Is it an auto?
Really well done and I love how the spotter gave precise information to the driver... and the rolling rock on the last challenge just showing us how steep it really is

Top driving! They are some killer rocks for near standard vehicles, the video doesn't give the steepness and size of the steps justice. well done!
Cheers mate. Definitely some good driving on his part! I don't know if I could take a new car like that through this stuff :D
Impressive driving skills and also proves that Toyota has shown the world that their SUVs are most reliable and can go anywhere facing tough places climbing hills and rocks that no any other SUVs can do and not get stuck in deep muddy places.
Any other???
+Nik Marinkovic Glide in water
They should call it Jesus. They're not that great.
I could get an old stock V6 Isuzu Trooper up there
Davo george do it and put on youtube

These new traction control systems are phenomenal
Lexus GX460!! 🇺🇸
best prado off road video ever, cheers to all prado owner!!!
Nice driving and nice Prado.
Nice Prado and superb driving and the Geolandars rock.
The one of best of video of Prado! Prado is the best!!!!
Excellent driving,
Excellent vehicle,
👍
Awesome video! I was very impressed that it got up that last part with such little fuss.
Thanks mate! Hope to see you on the tracks again soon.

Nice video, good to see other 150 Series out in the bush & playing on the rocks. Seems to do with relative ease...... Well done
Fantastic vid. Great to see a couple of young blokes out having a bit a harmless fun in the Aussie bush. It'd great if there was more of it.
Nice to see someone actually using their Land Cruiser. I used to own an FJ Cruiser and was amazed at how well it crawled over terrain like this. Great video, is nice to see nearly stock trucks over this type of terrain
Respect in utilising what these things are actually capable of, instead of most people who just use them to go to Westfield.
Thanks, We do too...I,ve got my Bullbar, winch & Mickey Thompsons MTZ's I just need a 2" lift & a snorkel & I will be good to go almost anywhere.
Nice video, I just bought the diesel auto version of this car and I'm liking it,, (coming from a dmax) very impressed with the climb without lockers. Now I'm looking forward to mods and crawling around W.A.
Agreed! Manuals do have advantages, but not on rock steps. Auto's allow a very smooth delivery of power to crawl and climb steps.
In most countries of southamerica they are called Totoya Prado Sumo. They are available in 5 door and 3 door with several engine choices...
He loves the power. I'm pretty certain most people are very happy with the 150, for on road and off road driving.
Here in Australia it is available with a 4.0L V6 petrol or a 3.0L 4 cylinder T.Diesel .
In the U.S , it is sold under the brand Lexus , under the name plate Lexus 470 LX

he knows exactly how much power should the car give and smart user of diff lock .
Very impressed with the Prado and crawling traction control. I know this track well and is no easy task..
Another nice vid, enjoyed it!
Great video man! Good driver and great car! Looking at getting a prado and good to see it can still do the tough tracks :D Cheers!

Because the active trackshion and crowl control and rear lock on 4.0, not found on 2.7, only simple trackshion, whether 2.7 will be as good or not..
Very good throttle control, and wheel placement can get most vehicles through unlikely places
awesome vehicle... saw one upside down ... lying on its roof... but absolute minimal damage... strong vehicle
Nice work mate I've got a lifted Kakadu with 18" cooper Zeons, snorkel lift etc and they still amaze me how good they are off road....if your game enough.

Of course this is an edited video. In real life there were a couple more failed attempts, particularly on the climb at 6mins.
and that you can say about prado 2.7 is it goog in mountain(medium).there are not many mountains in my town but,,,,
anwser me please.
From the video I can see the tyres are Yokohama Geolander AT/S. I am looking to change to 265/70R17 too and these are one option. My side steps are mangled just from going through sand LOL - I also made the mistake of getting my 150 in black - shows every scratch from the bush
The audio/video speed was not edited. Your computer may be having trouble playing back the HD video.
How do the 150 series compare to the 90 series LC? Off road & on road.
no you did not understand i meant how he feel on spphalt prado 2.7???if you can answer me please!i want to byu praod 150 new with engine 2.7 standart complectation or 4.0 engine prestige.i drive 90 percents on asphalt and it is very interesting

very nice video, displaying just a little of what a mighty prado can do :)
No KDSS in this case. It was just driver and traction control :-)
That 4x4 did not have any protection installed, but it did have 2" suspension lift and upgraded tyre size (265/70R17). I would always recommend at least a suspension lift and upgraded tyres.
just a question is this gxl come up with Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) ? because this goes really well thanks
After watching this video I realized that the car Prado will not let me down Thanks Liked
Great work -just wondering what tire pressure you guys recommend for this type of run in the Prado 150?
Nice work guys. Even with the auto, it is still very hard to be consistent with the throttle.
Thanks. Yes smooth can be tricky on rock steps especially when traction control kicks in. He done a great job of it that's for sure.
Sorry I dont know what Steven (owner of that 150) was running on that trip. I've just been on that trail the other day with my 90's Prado and ran 17.5 rear and 21 front (with 255/85R16's). The Prado 150 had 2" lift, 32" AT's and he got by with traction control.
no lockers
Nice work!!! Good control and not tearing the arse out of the bush and giving the sport a bad name.
Cheers mate, absolutely agree
did you put a underneath guard?
I wonder if some modification is needed against the stock GXL prado?
Awesome...I'm about to buy one of these but at $60tk don't think i'd be game to take it on this track...but good to see someone do it.....I was cringing a bit. Did u get any damage underneath? what brand lift kit is it? What tyres are u running and was it a 3litre D4D auto....The ARB bar and snorkel look great...thanks for the show...great thanks
Was the center diff even locked. At some points it looks like it wasn't. Otherwise, good job.
you guys are insane! nice wheeling!
haha glad you enjoyed it !
non equipped KDSS, MTS & crawl control model?
@GazDogNoosa
G'day Gaz,
OME lift, petrol engine. He bent the side steps a bit, scratched the aux tank bash plate and the front cross member a couple times. Nothing major unless you actually like side steps!! Right now I can only dream of doing that. But you did some credible job.
Does this shorten the lifetime of the car in the longterm?
Very nice video without an annoying music! We'll done!
El motor es un diesel 3.0 ?
как дорабатывалась подвеска? или это в штатной комплектации у неё такой ход??
is that crawl control, isnt it
Is that a diesel or petrol
and can you show us prado 150 with 2.7engine??please
I got here from those uphill crash videos.. So this is how you do it right?
Great video 🚗
Good driver!! He knew what he was doing!!
Awesome video!! Very good driver.
thanks sinchi
looks like the traction control system did a decent job of keeping things together, but i bet lokkas would have made life a bit easier!
try it now . very different beast than those days .
Never been off road, excellent condition
بصراحه سياره ماعليك أي اعتراض وخاصه أن البرادو ياباني 100%
والسواق برضو كانت قيادة ابداع👍👍👍👍👍
and how he feel he on road*asphalt)??
Well done! What mods have you done to the Prado?
Which tyre size are you using? Any lift kit installed?
Prado 150 with 2" lift, 32" AT and traction control
Why edit the part where it got stuck?
The 2.7L (3RZ-FE) is a great engine and trusted for reliability. There is also a newer 2.7L (2TR-FE) engine which should be quite good as well.
I've just been on this trail again with a mix of vehicles, including a Hliux. As expected, the Hilux was quite bouncy. Have a look at my recent videos and let me know what you think ;)
very smooth camera work... did you use some kind of image stabilisation feature?
What kind of engine does this Land Cruiser have?
+Alberto Michelatti 4.0L v6 petrol 1GR-FE
Hey just wondering does it have a lift kit or is it standard? Nice rig anyway and great driving. I'm looking at buying one soon.
it's KDSS suspension
where is the exit? did you just go back once reaching the end ?
Yes this track is one way in, then return
glenep really good work man. thanks for your sharing
what is engine ?
He only used Traction Control. Most models here in Australia don't have crawl control or rear locks.
great video, should really consider getting some air lockers in it ;)
Sorry, I have no idea how well suited the 2.7L engine is for a Prado 150. Try searching online.
this is 2.7 or 4.0??
Where's the pilot?????? O.o
Yeah lockers make it easier, but in that case, you can try harder lines with lockers :D
Nice video... any lockers fitted to this prado and what it is if ? I just acquired same model
Nice job ! I have one too and people doubt how handy they are offroad..I also have a GU patrol for the haters
What about suspension? Is it the stock suspension?
+Morgan Wang 2" lifted
Did the prado 150 have the height adjustable suspension or was it replaced? Also, did you use crawl control?
Aftermarket suspension, not adjustable. No crawl control on that particular model.
glenep What about KDSS?
mftgdeserteagle
No KDSS on this one
Looks more rugged the prado 95 series than 150 series but two cars are the best on durability and robust
