An interesting video, Aaron. I'm a UK viewer and I have the Gamo Coyote, which is the same gun under a different name for the UK market, and mine got an air leak on the inlet valve after about 18 months of use, probably because a tiny bit of dirt got in via the filler probe. (so my fault) I bought a set of seals for the whole rifle, but because I'd never taken a PCP apart and wasn't 100% sure it was *only* the filler valve that was leaking I handed it over to the gunsmith at my local range for him to take a look at. He used only 2 O-rings (the tiny one inside the valve, and the larger one that seals it to the cylinder) and charged me £20, which would be maybe $25. Obviously it was a simple fix for him to perform. Overall I'm very pleased with the rifle and apart from that one incident it doesn't leak when stored. Yes, the filler valve IS perhaps too complicated, but I would take some convincing that the Lane's one is intrinsically better or more reliable because hardly anyone has reported problems with the Gamo filler valve on the UK airgun forums.
Funny that you made this video. I just sent in my Urban to Gamo a few weeks ago for this issue. I have never been that frustrated trying to fix something before.
The inlet molding (poppet) has fuzz from the manufacturing process around the periphery of the sealing face surface preventing good seal and thus a leak. I burnished mine on a smooth varnished surface, both on the face and the periphery. I inspected the moulding with a 10X loupe until all the fuzz was burnished off. Now, two years later, it is still just fine and seals perfectly.
The fill port is a BSA designed part. Its main feature is that the piston seal will not lose any air at all over time, unlike an O-ring. It is however susceptible to dirt in the piston area where it seals, and that's why it has a filter in it. The filter is not optional, and absolute cleanliness on re-assembly is important. A short-coming of the Gamo design is that the shroud that fits over the fill port doesn't necessarily stop debris from getting into the port, so it's important to make sure the area is clean before you fill.
Good video very thorough, i have bought the same setup for my gamo coyote due to my original failing 2x in 2 years and only used 6x at the range and i was loosing patience.
I have owned one for 7 years now. First time I have shot it in around 3 years and was holding air from 3 years ago. Perfect. Never had a single issue in all these years.
Wow! Way to go. My problem was the figure of 8 bracket holding the barrel to the gauge, which is missing on yours. I ended up cutting the silencer off which was a whole new can of worms to sort out. Thanks Geoff in the UK.
Thank you for tip, this valve is pain in the bud. Bud I replace myne with hydraulic 0 rings from cattapiller. Bud when its fails again i gone replace mine with the robert lane valve system. I hope they sell them here over in europ. It take 6 to 9 mounth waiting to come EU. Thanks for the tips and tricks you showing to us 😉👌👍
Thank you for this video. I have the same problem in a Gamo Coyote. Change all the o rings on that cylinder and the leak continues. I just ordered that regulator from Ebay. Thank you very much.
Aaron: I have been following U for years, even bought the Urban on Ur rec. Never heard of this prob. until now. Just saw U on the sidebar, so i tuned in. never shot mine enough to have this prob., But I am downloading this vid for future ref. Thank U so much.
So I ordered the fill vale same as yours put it in my gun and it's held air all night, thank you for the video it really helped me out although it was almost $100 fix for a gun I got on sale for $230 about 6 years ago, like you I bought the outer seal kits and wasted money, wish I found your video first thank you
Thank you Aaron and Congrats on 10K subscribers. Have you considered getting the Umarex Notos? It's a fantastic gun at a fantastic price. I think it would be a perfect addition to your pesting guns.
Thank you for doing this video ! I'm about to start my pcp journey and the Urban is my choice for my wife . I'll likely be needing this product. Thanks again for the valuable info, subscribed,
Yep, I know what you went through, I have a BSA buccaneer, has the same thing, I tried to fix it like you did, never got it to reseal. I ended up buying the same lane kit you did, end of problem!!!!
Aaron, Thank You for this video. I just chased 2 leaks on my Gamo Urban . First was from the Breech outer o-ring, Next day the fill valve outer o-ring. I ordered the new fill valve . The price has gone up to $95.19 including taxes and shipping (US dollar going down in value), No surprise : (
Got a new pressure gauge today from Gamo USA. Wrong size. It won't thread into the black receptacle. Outside dimension of threads of the new one is 9.61mm. The original gauge measures about .03mm smaller. I'm sending it back but does anyone know the actual size of the pressure gauge threads on the Urban?
i have also bought those exact parts from bangnall awhile back with no luck either . ended up buying another urban on sale for $240 and it holds fine, for now anyways
Aaron, I have a Gamo Urban. 22 also and its is leaking also. Do you have the part number for that kit from Lane Regulators? His site is down right now because he on a sailing trip. Your video is very informative! Thank you for your help! Jim Thompson
I have just bought the first kit you used shipped from the uk , it didn't have the internal o ring and my gun like yours still leaked , how has the lane one held up ?
THANKS AARON! i'd retired mine and purchased a Benjamin Kratos in .22 as a replacement! I might dig it out and do this upgrade/fix to have as a spare! I didn't see link. message from website " Dear Friends and Customers Due to an unexpected event, we have had to close temporarily. Yours Robert Lane" what is model number of kit you purchased, please?
Hi Aaron, I bought an o-ring repair kit for my pcp air pistol because of an air leak similar to yours. I have a question if you don't mind seeing the o-ring kit you purchased is similar to the one I purchased and now waiting for it's arrival. Why do you not recommend the o-ring repair kit and is it because of the shipping? I purchased my o-ring kit from ebay and it is sent from the UK. I have never purchased outside the US before so I have some concerns. Thanks for your videos!
Good morning, I am French, I translated the text into English with Google. What reference of the filling kit for my Gamo GX-40, it is identical to yours. Thanks in advance. Sincerely. guy
There is a quick fill kit for BSA air rifles. BSA is owned by Gamo, maybe try the BSA QF kit. If it doesn't work you can always return it and it does. problem solved.
😊😊😊😊😊Last year in video of wildcat vs cricket camparo he said in comment section on asking of one subscriber that buying new stuff for new video is very expensive and he uploading videos from last 6 years its his words thats why he gets nervous and stoped making content.its fact after 6 years he gets nothing from yt but i am happy for him the suspense behind his absence is breaked down that means he is fine and fit. I miss your videos! Hope all is well.
Awesome vidoe. Thanks for the info. BTW, love your cap!
Any suggestions how to remove the inner brass piece (where the o-ring goes)? Mine is stuck. Rapping it on the table didn't work.
Very informative Many Thanks 👍

Just keep watching the site, it comes and goes, but Mr Lanes regs are just as good as any...
I don’t see the link ?
Juat subbed. Is he just taking a break?
laneregulators do a P35 reg as well if you ever get tired of changing the inlet seal o ring
Where you been?
Good info thanks !!!

That doesn’t effect the performance at all right? I mean its a fill port not a actual regulator?
I cant find those on the website for gamos
There is a quick fill kit for BSA air rifles. BSA is owned by Gamo, maybe try the BSA QF kit. If it doesn't work you can always return it and it does. problem solved.
Hes closed temporarily… per site notice :(
Hope all is well sir, noticed that u haven’t uploaded in a while
I have the BSA / Gamo Scorpion .177 caliber ( same problem ) . ☹. Way to many o-rings talk about overkill . I know your frustration .
Thank you sir
Is this channel shutdown? I miss Aaron
Miss your videos… :(
Good video
Man I hope you’re OKAY. Have made a video in 6 months bud. I pray everything is all right.
Thinking the same way. Hope everything ok since it's been 6 months.
I thought the Gamo Urban was the "AK 47 of air rifles". AKs don't have mechanical problems.
Unfortunately Lane is temporarily not in business...
Do you talk to Airgun Pesting channel much these days?
Money, money, money, money, MONAY!!!
Thats way they/gamo make it so complicated!!!
for my money I will look for a different air gun
Mr. Aaron you ok? Missing you from india please reply 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
