i feel like dr2.0 took some inspiration in small details from rally evolved, the development director for rally evolved also worked on dr2.0 so that could be why. Shame they didnt continue down that path for the new wrc game and made it completely sterile and soulless
I think that happens randomly, only in events against AI drivers, and when you have 'Unexpected events' turned on: you get crashes, drones, helis flying low. I've run into those a lot of times. Drones are usually hovering low on turn exits, and they will startle you sometimes. What I don't understand is why the marshals wave at you ahead of crashes or breakdowns: the cars are never in the middle of the road, and it's not like you gonna stop and help.
@@floppasaurus_kitten Yes, that would be actually useful if the crashed/broke down cars were *on* the road, that would actually make the situation more challenging and the warning would make sense. But they're always off the road, posing no threat to you and making the warnings just mere distractions.
@EstratosVarios it's more of a nod to reality because the cars usually end up in the middle of the road. And I think they put them on the side of the road to make sure you can actually continue driving the stage without too big an impact to your time.

Really? You just noticed your first roadside crash? They're nearly constant, someone crashes in every rally, just depends how late in the running order you are and if you run early you're probably not going to see any.

I think it's to let you know that there is a crash, you should be carefull if it's on a corner and either don't cut or don't go too wide.
