Hey mate, I can see you’ve put a lot of effort into your video, but from my person experience, this issue can be fixed without resetting steering angle sensor. After having the same problems with tyre shops I decided to investigate myself, this issue is solved by keeping the driving wheels straight while adjusting the drag rod. This pushes the steering arm to the correct position to centre the steering wheel rather than pushing the driving wheels left or right. Hey, thanks for this! I installed a 40mm lift kit and I’m getting the same issue. I’ve been advised by the kit supplier / manufacturer that I just need to adjust the “steering rod” under neath the front of the car. When I do this, I can get the steering wheel alignment ok but the car pulls. When I put it back, the steering wheel is off but the car drives straight. Is this likely the fix?
If the wheel alignment is correct and if you hold the steering wheel level and drive the car needs to drive straight but if you let go of the steering wheel on a level area and it rotates to the right, then it's the same as our problem. This recently posted guide could also help. des-sol.co.za/addressing-steering-wheel-tilt-in-your-lifted-jimny/
I think it might help if you upload the numbers associated with your latest wheel alignment… I.e was the thrust angle off for the back wheel? What was the caster on both wheels like? What were the toe values? What was the camber? Is your kingpin bearings shot? Did you check for tyre wear ect to see if there was any specific type of wear happening?… I have had the same issue, except mine was driving straight when the steering wheel was pulled left ( to counter the pull to the right ). I found on mine that the 2” lift changed the distance between my pitman arm to my steering wheel (left), so adjustment of the steering arm length was required… also note that as your spring ‘settle’ over time, more small adjustments may be required over time. I’m glad you were able to find a solution to your problem and thank you for sharing!! Nothing worse then your jimny driving off centre… cheers!
Thanks very much for the constructive comment and suggestions. I will dig out the photo of the last wheel alignment. I am glad you got your Jimny sorted.
Yes, and I double checked. Steering wheel was locked in level position and wheel alignment was done. They used the Hunter machine and it seems to have a very good alignment procedure.

Thanks very much for the video. We looked at Martins video before. Unfortunately his advise did not work at all. As soon as you make these adjustments, the steering wheel just simply popped back to plus minus 5 to 6 degrees to the right. And it just made the straight-line worse.
hi, i've aquired a used 2022 Jinmy, the car goes perfectly straight, but the previous owner said that it always had a slightly crooked steering wheel with straight wheels, no pull to the right or left. Yesterday i've tried to adjust the steering wheel with the related bar. once the steering wheel was straightened, the car tended to constantly push to one side while driving could the car have left the factory with this problem? now i've re-adjusted the bar to the old configuration (steering wheel turned) and the car is no pushing anymore. (I had to do a bit of iteration before finding the exact old memorized angle)
Hey Mate, thanks for the video. Had this exact issue and took it to a local mechanic, who went around in circles with aligning and adjusting and suggested it was a faulty sensor. Showed them this, they tried it, and now it drives perfect, but the ABS, tc, and steering wheel lights are all on and they're now playing whack a mole with it. Where would you go from here?
Hi Ant. Thanks for the compliment. The lights would normally pop up if the steering is out by more than 7 or 8 degrees. I would suggest leveling the steering wheel and set the angle sensor back to "incorrect" setting. Then make sure the wheel alignment is spot on. The Hunter wheel alignment machines seem to get the wheel alignment right. Also have them set the steering rod and get the geometry as spot on as possible. Once the steering angle is out by about 5 degrees, have them zero the steering angle sensor to the left, again ( by the -5 degrees)
Hello 👋 , thanks for this informative video. Just a question, though: When you were having this off-center steering issue, did the traction control light and/or ESP warning comes on in your control module? I think I've got the same issue as this, they did wheel/steering alignment, but it was still a little off and the warning lights are still on and my local dealership technician says that it was the clock spring that needs to be replaced.
Hi, no it didn't, apparently if out more than about 8 degrees then can cause the lights to come on. You might find this post interesting too, des-sol.co.za/addressing-steering-wheel-tilt-in-your-lifted-jimny/

hello, @fooshadventure I have the same problem but I'm not sure that the issue is with angle sensor? It's behaving like that even if I turned of the engine, and just went down on the road
Hi, just make sure your alignment is 100% correct first and, sometimes adjustment to the draglink also works, but if it is a persistent electrical correcting issue then steering sensor can be reset.
Hi, Did you change the front and rear lateral rods? If lifting the vehicle these rods need to be altered, the easiest is to fit adjustable rods otherwise the front and rear diffs are dragged sideways to the right.
Hi Eric. Thanks for the comment. With the 40mm lift the angle changes in the rods are minimal. However, the Old Man Emu set we installed, does come with a rear panhard rod adjuster bracket. The Jimny Geometry is very simple, since you can really only adjust toe in and toe out. We have seen and heard of issues like this on even stock Jimnys. The issue is purely electrical and relates to the electrical power sterring even though it is hard to believe and even convince Suzuki but we have proved it in our case. We have not had any issues since our re-calibration.
Unfortunately we have only found that the dealer could reset the SAS. The Autel device we bought says it can, but it was unable to access the ECM. I am not sure which other devices could reset. The Supaquick in Brackenvell (Cape Town) was able to, but I am not sure what device they had.
Hi Chronicle, apologies for only replying now. We did not want to mess with the electronics, since, I believe the steering angle sensor "talks" to the ESC system.

Hi there. We found the same. I believe the Snapon diagnostic tools might be able to do the reset, but they were too expensive. The Hunter wheel alignment machines should also have updates for thier diagnostics SAS reset.
