Hey really informative video, I am facing issues in my braking I own a jimny manual and brakes feel squishy most of the time and due to which I have less confidence on high speed braking currently. Any idea what could be the reason? I showed to service guys they did the bleeding but still no improvement as such
Its not due to any part defect or heating, its normal wear and tea. Its a design problem across all jimny's and models across the world. No recall or change can permanetly fix it. It will popup every 10k kms or so Wobble is inherent to jimny design and can never be permanently resolved. Every few thousand km or say with every oil change the king pin bearings need to be changed (and also rotors and brake pads if needed). This will solve it for the next few thousand kms. Cost includes 505x4 king pin + 2200x2 rotors + 3400 brake pads. Suzuki changing these in warranty is just to procastinate the problem for next 5-10k kms, not a permanent fix. They show its a recall and a part defect so as to keep selling it but it cannot be fixed permanently. So if one wants to maintain it driving like a new, one has to spend around 10k every 5-10k kms in addition to regular service and maintenance cost. There is a reason this vehicle is a flop and people aren't buying it. Spare parts are rarely available and difficult to procure due to poor sales and cost as much as Fortuner spare parts. It won't sell even if its 8 lakh on road
Its a flop not because of only marketing and launch failures. Its a flop because its nothing special just a cheap, short lasting, use and throw toy: 1) Design problem of steering vibration that needs king pins + rotors + pads (+ steering damper optional) to be regularly replaced every 10k kms or so. A cost of INR 10000 +. Maruti is showing recalls and defective king pins to make it look like as on odd issue or defect and not any long term problem, but the wobble is regular wear and tear, replacing the parts Maruti is just procastinating the issue till its out of warranty. Note there is no fix for wobble it needs regular change of the above parts every 10k kms or maybe every oil change 2) Over priced. Should be cheaper than Brezza base i.e. should be 8 lakhs on the road. Build quality is same as other maruti cars (average/cheaper side, not upto SUV or rugged standards) , safety rating is 3 stars. Weighs same as brezza (1200 kgs). For comparison scorpio and bolero weigh above 1900/1700 + kgs. If 1900 kgs steel sells for 16Lakh, what should 1200kg steel sell for? Leave apart the diesel, power, ruggedness, road presence, resalve value and looks factor. Compare it with a Nexon and punch in real, not on youtube 3) Fuel economy of 11-12 kmpl 4) Super costly spares, cost as much as fortuner. Radiator costs 24000, grease seal on front axle wheel hub thats just a rubber costs 1800. King pin (505x4), brake rotors(2200x2), brake pads (3400) cost too much and need to be changed every 10000 km if you don't want steering wobble 5) Unavailability of parts or too long to procure even in service center. Generally takes 3 weeks for any part. No local inventory 6) Bad braking, stopping distance. Too big a turning radius of 5.7 m. For comparison Scorpio turning radius is 5.4m, bolero 5.7m, hatchbacks typically have 5.1m. Try a tight u-turn and you can see the problem. It takes too much space to turn. The only thing that is poorer in this respect is Thar Roxx (you will not find an official turning radius figure for Roxx, coz its very poor too) 7) Uncomfortable in rear and barely survivable even in front. Driving for 100+ kms is not comfortable for the price one pays 8) Very low engine power. Small and thin tires and wheels because with such a low engine power thats all it can handle 9) Zero innovation than prevous or older models, just a face lift, with all the flaws stll there 10) High altitude brake vaccum problem, prepeller rubbing problem, etc. However I haven't verified these 2 myself 11) Boot door loosens and sags over time very quickly due to poor build and heavy spare wheel mounted 12) Ground clearnace is 210mm (quiet good on paper right?), but it is just a number and if you look carefully even fronx, ignis, brezza look equally high from the road. Don't compare numbers, kneel down and look under the cars to compare. IMO there is not too much this vehcile can do which a TATA nano cannot. Off road ability is not only needed on stones and rocks. Will it work in slippery muddy farm? How many videos have you seen? 13) Absolutely zero after market support. Its an off roader, where will one get it repaired if it breaks somewhere in himalyas. Add the lack of mechanics and spare availability, chances are one will face a nightmare if such a thing happens 14) Garbage after 5 years (50000km) and no resale value. Chances are it won't be working by that time as most people will not be able to get it repaired due to parts unavailable and/or mechanics not used to it. 15) Discontinued in europe and sooner than later will be discontinued in every country including India. Hence Suzuki tries to find a new 3rd world country to sell it every few years 16) Its dubbed as mountain goat and people think it sells a lot in hills. Does it really? How many Jimny's has one seen lately in Himanchal or himanchal videos? Don't trust youtubers blindly, its there bread and butter, use your brain. Are all Indians idiot that they are not buying it even its such a rugged and capable 4x4. Its a use and throw toy, not a vehicle. Its a global flop in todays world no matter how respected it was in the ancient past or Gypsy time. I will be surprised to see if it sells even if Maruti starts selling it at 8 lakh on the road price
@@urbankarts Company will do it free once or twice in warranty, after that owner has to bear. Its not a defective part, its a design problem and happens due to normal wear. These parts need to be changed regularly, like oil if you want it to be driving like new

@ bro i sm very few who have faced this issue initally and these people denied to change the rotors and they tested by replacing rotors and vibration was not there so kingpin dont have to do anything with vibrations i then cleaned them on lathe machine and they worked fine for 10k km but after 10km i have got the issue again
You dont have to thank Maruti so many times . They have put defective parts n they should do an official recall , but I dont expect such a step from a cheapskate company as MARUTI . They are only good at conning their customers . They fleeced me off 2.5 lakhs By the way didnt see them use a torque wrench on the kingpin bolts or use a spring balance to measure the preload on the knuckle . Such shoddy work is expected from MARUTI 👎 Buying a Jimny was a mistake , no more Maruti vehicles for me , will look at Honda n Renault for my next buy . I am surprised that Toyota has put their name at stake n selling rebadged Maruti cars .....sad . Ghoor kalyug aah gaya hai
Yesterday I faced this issue and today it came to my timeline. AI is evolving at such a high pace.
Thanks buddy
Glad it helped

💯💯
It was fixed Under warranty ??
I had sent a video and written to Maruti about the issue, so they got back and change ld the parts. My car is still under warranty though.
Was it free under warranty?
Under warranty, but I had made a video and sent it to Matuti.

while taking hair pin turns can’t see anything on sides!!
Any suggestions?

If you have driven your jimny 10-15k on bad roads kindly check your propeller shaft. There might be rubbing of shaft against cross member
Thanks, but thats not the case, I got everything diagnosed.

As per you this is design problem
Till warranty is there Maruti Suzuki will change the spares, after that vehicle owner has to change themselves
Nice 🙂
Thank you! Cheers!
