I was glad to find this review. There was not much out on these. We have these on our Power Boost F150 that we purchased a week ago. It is now January in Colorado. I was amazed at how quiet they are on paved roads. We go off-road to get to our home. We are driving through ice, snow, and mud from melted snow. Our road has uphill and downhill including a small canyon. So far, these are working great. The tread design did not seem aggressive enough, but it works. We do slip a little bit. I have not tried deep snow yet. I usually plow the road if we get 6 inches or more. I also like that they don't sling mud all over my truck like some All Terrain tires with deep lugs do.

Thanks for the F150 vids Tim. I had to get rid of the Pirelli Scorpion ATRs on my F150. I needed an all weather tire that would work in the Canadian Winters. To be fair the Scorpions were not advertised as all weather, but they were not just bad in the winter they were fully dangerous. I am now rolling on Nokian Rotiiva all weather tires and they are great for the winter. I am sure they will cost me on fuel when towing in the summer. For efficiency the Scorps were good, but I would never pay money to get another set.
best truck tire i ever owned is continental all terrain contact at. quiet no lack of mpg great i. snow and rain and got 70k out of them. hsd them on a ram 1500
I live about an hour southwest of Chicago and just replaced these Pirelli tires on my 2021 F-150 with Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S after only 2500 miles. It's a new record for getting rid of OEM tires. We received quite a bit of snow, and I was getting an ulcer from worrying every time they put heavy snow in the forecast. The Pirelli's did not stop well, and plowed in corners even when accelerating through them. Acceleration in single digits temp dry snow was pretty good, but even wet roads were less than confidence inspiring. After driving through 2 more heavy snow storms with the Cooper's on it, I realized I should have just driven right over to the tire shop after buying the truck.

My 2018 STX came with Michelin LTX's. Very low rolling resistance (LRR) and long milage tire. Extremely quiet too. I've got 34400 miles on them now and look like they may have another 20K in them. They've been rotated every 7500 miles and aren't cupping wearing on either shoulder. I really like them because they have a square shape and wear that way. My only gripe is that because they are LRR and high milage tires they are also not the grippiest when it comes to wet roads. They don't hydroplane but the compound is too hard and I spin out easily when applying gas and stopping distance also suffers due to lack of grip.
But those are the trade-offs. You can't have it all. These are by far the best "OEM" tire I've received on a new vehicle.
I'm curious to see how the tires do that I get on my ordered 2021 XLT Sport 4x4 (not FX4) with 20" wheels.
These did okay on my 21 F-150 but I had to change them at 22,000 miles. I’m going with the Hankook ATR extreme
You can get 60k miles out of BFG KO2 Tim. OEM tires are usually lucky to make 20k. I suspect these will wear fast.
I have 40k miles on my current 275 60 R20s KO2. Not sure if that qualifies me as a SME as stated below. OEM Goodyear were wore out in 15k miles. IMO factory batches of tires they just make sure it is a quiet compound for the test drive. After that you are SOL. Lots of acronyms here.
Tim, that was a great vid! You are cutting edge in your approach to this overall truck review. To get the tire manufacturer on air describing what went in to this tire for this truck is ground breaking, no other channel I subscribe to (including you know who) gives this in depth Columbo sleuth effort. Good on ya, and it makes me want to see more reviews of individual issues related to this specific truck. You Da Man!!

I know that rolling resistance is fuel milage, and along that train of reasoning the tire industry for P/U/cars has done a poor job of communicating the principle of lower rolling resistance to the general public. What I AM SUGGESTING is a deep dive into tire rolling resistance for the general public when it comes to buying the replacement tire after the OEM units melt of thru use. I have been in a tire management position that allowed me to make the tire suppliers present the actual facts before the small fleets commit $$$ to purchase product. Personally my requirements are a longevity rating of 800 or better ! Thank you for what you do

I’ve been waiting for the damn wind storm to stop. It’s been blowing 30 mph with gusts into the 65-70 mph range. I’ve been literally stuck inside waiting for it to pass. I’m picking up a trailer today and will be filming all day. Hoping for a video first of the week.
Hope for you these are better than the previous Perelli tires they had. Those tires were crap on wet pavement let alone winter condition roads.
I'm about to have to replace these before 40k miles on my Powerboost. Excessive edge wear makes me think the added weight of the Powerboost needs a more robust sidewall.
Hopefully they are better than the Old ATR. Which was probably the worst OEM truck tire , next to the Goodyear Wrangler SR-A.

Compare the Pirelli Scorpion ATR to the BFG KO2 and tell me which one would take off road??? (True off road not just off your driveway).
No question BFG K02. They worked well on the Raptor. However, this is a different truck, so maybe the Pirellis are different.
This tire has a bad reputation for winter/snow capability and lead me to go another direction when looking recently for my truck. So, hopefully this has been addressed with the newer designs.
Really, I finally got to test mine this winter. I didn't even have to use 4x4 the rear wouldn't break traction in like 5-6 inches of snow.
I'm sure its not BFG or Nitto standards but compared to my other regular all seasons it seemed good. It's not a snow tire or off road tire by any means though
Hope these tires turn out better than the special Firestone tires on large vans that killed a bunch of people
Next upgrade for Tim, a Windows PC to use screen capture software with. As I know Apple hates screen capture with audio loop-back functionality.
I'm in serious need of some tech upgrades.
@@Pickuptrucktalk A lot of us are in need of upgrades. Sometime during this year, you should purchase a good Windows PC (HP makes some decent ones) and write them off as a business expense, then you won't need to look for other items to expense out for tax purposes.
@@Harry-zz2oh It is on my list. I'd like that and another GoPro camera. 90% of the time, my Mac is perfect. It is just old. I really only use it for webcams and travel. Since I'm not traveling that much these days, I haven't had to need it as much for video editing. Right now, I have a Windows desktop I built a decade ago and keep upgrading. Much cheaper than a new laptop.
@@Pickuptrucktalk I understand. I've built a few computers but have lost the desire to mess with them. I finally upgraded last year from a PC I'd been using since the early 2000's; it had a very bad hard disk failure and it was old tech, so I bought an inexpensive desktop. I just got a GoPro for Christmas so now I need to learn to use it. Being home all the time does take the fun out of learning newer stuff. Have a good day!

You quoted 115T wrong on this video. 115 is the Load Index and 115 means 2673 lbs per tire. T is the speed rating and "T" has a top speed of 118 mph.

@@Pickuptrucktalk Tim, I kind of got the joke but was surprised he went along with it! As technical as he was about the tire description, it almost sounded like he was saying that was the speed rating built into the tire for safety! FYI - I thought you were going to tell us what tires are being delivered on each trim level. Are the Pirelli's on all 4x4's with the 20" wheels? It seems the Sport packages I've seen on the lots have Hankooks on them. But the chrome package or King ranch as Pirelli's. I'm confused.

@@Pickuptrucktalk you do have the hardware I believe. I think It’s the Ford co-pilot assist 2.0. Than the over the air update allows it to self drive but I believe that will be a $600 for 3 years subscription.
@@bobdennis4801 you are thinking it is included in that package. This is called Active Drive Assist and is part of that package for select trucks. I know. Marketing drives me nuts too.

My 2021 XLT 302a came with Michelin Primacy XC. I have the 18" wheels. Not sure if that makes a difference. I swapped them out when I bought it for Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Really like the Ridge Grapplers so far. Very quiet and have the all terrain look. Not 3 peak rated but so far so good in the snow.

What is the treadwear?
Warranty is 50k miles. You’ll get more depending on usage and probably in the 70k mile range or better.
@@Pickuptrucktalk Tim, I’m referring to the number next to word “Treadwear” on the tire sidewall. It is a number in the 100s that indicates how well the tire wears compare to some standard. The higher the number the longer it will last.
@@tirsorosario5940 Gotcha. I researched what it is and I’ve been searching the tire for a number. Nothing. Looking at Pirelli’s website they say, “‘Uniform Tire Quality Grading’ applies to car tires with a rim diameter of 13” and larger.” Since these are Light Truck tires, it doesn’t look like it has this rating.
My 2021 F150 comes with these tires, they are terribly in snow condition, comparing to my previous 2018 F150 stock tires. Thumbs down!
No probs with these in snow because i dont use in snow, why the hell would you use an AT in cold icy canada anyway, get winter tires yo.
Judging by the poor use of grammar, and lack of common sense that winter tires are recommended in harsh and heavy snow/winter conditions, I say most of the comments here are from people who are not exactly the sharpest tools in the shed.
Pirelli has a solid history in rally racing, and their AT tires are great all-around.
In other news, muscle car owners complain that racing slicks handle poorly in muddy conditions...

Apparently, you have never owned or driven with them. There is a reason that the brand-new Scorpions take-offs (With rims) on Craigslist and such are going for around $700(asking price) while real AT tires Coop AT3 / General Grabber apt and such are going for around $1100. Nobody wants the Scorpions.
I've had this tire on 2 of my trucks, one in 275 55 20 and one In 275 60 20. They ride beautifully, are whisper quiet & last a very long time. The 55 series however was UNBALANCEABLE, wore unevenly and was terrible in cold climate conditions, the 60 series balances properly and tread wears even but suffers the same poor winter traction. The problem with the ATR is that pirelli makes them so tall that when you eventually change them, your spedo is wayyy off. Very annoying. And GOD FORBID Ford puts a proper lt tire on a truck rated for 12k+ towing.... They get the job done but man are they wobbly/ soft when towing heavy loads.

little late to the party but yea Pirellis as a whole have SHIT tread life, make amazing tires but man idk what they do in their R&D department but their budget definitely doesn’t go to durability department

Pirelli scorpion ATR are garbage tire, I never going to buy Pirelli tire again in my life.
I use Pirelli tire from 2007 till 2016 on Toyota Sequoia and are very bad. very year I have to buy new tire basically in 30.000 km are flat.
I was impress with Hankook dynapro witch I did 100,000 km and the tire was still good.
I bought F150 in January 2017 and I change tires this year so 3 years , 100,000km on same tire from manufacture

I know you do it for subscribers, and the possible outcome. But you are working for your clicks.
How I wish I had the time, so much to teach all. Imagine if everyone taught everyone what the knew for free. Life could be simplier.
Wish the top $$$$ people had someway of loaning us 7 figures (takes money to make money) Gave us the knowledge, the oppertunity to make it grow like they do. Then Once you have made double what they loaned you, you give them back the 7 figures. Then when you make the same amount again, you give them half of that as interest, and no one looses, just gains. You then continue on with the oppertunity tobpay it forward and no one starves, gets hurt possibly making the world a little better.
How I went off on a side note like this I do not know? Just came to my mind. At minimum, maybe you will get a few more subcribers so they can tell me how crazy i am. Misery loves company I guess (why most miserable post have most subscriptions) why I try to keep positive and enjoy the great things like you do for others.... Again I appreciate your time.
