- Hi everyone.
Well it's nice to be back. I have been really busy working lately so havnt had much spare time for doing the vids but all of that is about to change. We're currently on the Staffs and Worcester canal and life is good. I'm really looking forward to returning to youtube so will be releasing vids every Sunday morning from March onwards. Hope you will enjoy watching our little adventures.

Hey guys! Beautiful scenery. So peaceful and mild. Its weird that your February weather looked so much like our central Texas weather... But not for long, our Purple Martins flew up early from Mexico this year so they can raise there babies in the houses we maintain for them and then get outta here (go North) before hell arrives. It will be another record scorcher. Take care, stay cool !! -Tiffany and Jon.
Thanks Tiffany. Just gotta get the dreaded work out the way then we're free for 4 months then it's time for some boat maintenance . Looking forward to some freedom. Like you , we have birds arrive in the UK from Africa in the spring months. We have swifts, house Martins and swallows. They love to dart around the boat as we chug along. I will try to record some for you once they arrive.

Hi mate, it was me who just ran passed you on the canal and shouted 'Hello boatdog' 😃 was nice surprise to see you. I'm always on that stretch of the canal running and walking, so I did wonder if I would ever bump into you, so was lovely surprise.

Yes we've been busy doing normal life stuff but we've been busy for a reason... the reason being that we're back off travelling on narrowboat Dodger next month camera in hand so looking forward to be vloggin again 👍

Thanks. Will be heading off up the shroppie in April but will be doing about 4 vlogs before then due to work commitments. I've also just booked the anderton boat lift for May so will be chugging in that direction .

So happy to see you're going to be vlogging again and that Spike is on the mend and I know what you mean about pointy food thieves , the other day I left my narrowboat for an hour and forgot that my lurcher luna knows how to open the fridge door so you can imagine what happened next 😂😂😂

It's a nice place to Moor and the locals are great. Hope you are having a great time in the States. Heavy rain here 😪

I had two black greyhounds very much like yours and love seeing your adventures as now sadly dogless. Its great seeing the canals and revisiting old haunts.
I can only imagine the pain that you must of gone through losing them. They are such gentle souls. Sadly archie and Spike are getting on now. I'm dreading the day when they draw their last breath. That's why we live the way we do trying to give them the best life ever free out in the countryside away from the rat race that we call life.
@@Boatdog_Traveller I’ve had 8 retired racing dogs (all black as they are the most overlooked) and it always breaks your heart to lose them. Unfortunately I’m not fit enough to have any more and I so long for one, never been without a dog, hence it’s lovely to see yours

@@Boatdog_Traveller No worries. Fair to middling I would say, thanks for asking, although my asthma has laid me low the last few weeks. As an aside, I saw you on Gary Captain Phillips' Chugabug. He seemed well pleased with the work you did for him.
Yes I did quite a bit of work in his engine bay. Gary ,Nicky and the kids are lovely people.
My thanks to you Del, for bringing back pleasant memories of our Christmas trip. I hope you managed to save some butter for your toast. I also hope you managed to exorcise the scum ghosts by stopping by that park bench. I love the garden lock gates of the Hyde Lock Cottage. (That was almost a tongue twister).
That was a good tip for solo boaters of pulling the boat out of the lock when location and weather permit. Some might never think of trying it.
I have to agree with you about the vine after one drink we went into Kinver and got the rest in The White Hart, (I think that was the name), before returning to the boat on the visitor moorings.

Haha 😄. The vine was good back in the day when they did a carvery. Unfortunately now its too expensive . You can buy the same beer in town for less. I've been in the white harte but it's a marstons pub and only sell pedigree ale which is OK but not anywhere near as good as a good old pint of Bathams bitter which is a pound cheaper and twice as good. Thanks for the comment. Hope to be uploading more frequently soon.

Sometimes the space between boats can't be helped, I'm only 50 foot I sometimes slip in where a 70 footer has been making it look like I'm not being considerate but I can't help it x

I'm not sure if you know but just incase . You are recommended in the boaters handbook to leave a 1 meter gap so literally you share a ring. This allows the maximum amount of boats to moor in a limited space. The two boats here have been here for well over a month 😡. I know of the situation that your speaking of as that's perfectly fine.

@@Boatdog_Traveller thanks mate that's put me at ease I'll definitely be buying one and hooking up a dog trailer to the rear wheel for shopping , I used to have a gunai full sized fat tyre Ebike when I had my house and it was brilliant it was just far too heavy and bulky to get on and off the boat hence I was looking at folding ebikes
I love your dogs but please keep them on leads. A beautiful greyhound was put down because it killed somebody’s cat out on the towpath. It seems cat owners have more rights than dogs. I’d hate to see your dogs with a prey drive innate to them be deemed a threat and have to be put down.
They're cat friendly as they used to live in the same house as a cat. Thanks for your concern tho 👍
@@Boatdog_Traveller I’m glad to know that. I love those dogs and I only wish I could adopt one here in the states but I’m not in a position to have one. Aren’t the rules strict about all dogs being on leads there?
