Biden: “if Putin attacks a NATO ally the way he's attacking Ukraine today, we'll have no choice but to come to their aid.” Yes, The US would have to come to their aid because they are making all NATO countries send all of their weapons to Ukraine.
Yet, none of this is helping Europe to stop Russia, push Russia back, catch up with Russia, or even to keep up with Russia's air, land, and sea weapons production.
If Russia is going to attack Europe, shouldn't the Biden administration be arming Europe to the teeth rather than clearing out Europe's weapons storage?

To anyone foolish enough to compare this to funding for the War in Afghanistan, note 2 things:
The government we helped build in Afghanistan was not willing to stand up for itself, even after decades of direct intervention. Even though we toppled the Taliban, drove the Taliban to the far reaches of the country, gave the new government billions and billions of dollars of equipment and aid and 20 years of training. Even after all of this, they did not have the will to resist the Taliban.
The government of Ukraine stood up for itself in the first hours of the Russian invasion. Thousands of Ukrainian men and women died in those opening weeks, even while American military aid was at a trickle. Zelensky stayed in Kyiv to encourage his country's warriors even as the city was being surrounded.
The lesson is this: giving weapons doesn't mean anything, anything at all, unless people are willing to risk their lives to use them. Ukrainians are willing to risk their lives. They're not doing it for fun; they're doing it because they know what it is like to live under the boot of the Kremlin.

Of all the wars to start with... the Korean War? If the US hadn't been involved, there would be no prosperous South Korea today. LG, Samsung, Kia, Hyundai... ever heard of these things? Instead, we would have a twice as big and twice as dangerous North Korea. The biggest losers of the Korean War... were and are the people of North Korea.
And of all the wars to end with... the Soviet-Afghan War? That was a proxy war that the Soviet Union lost badly, with far greater losses than the US lost in 20 years. It is commonly cited as one of the reasons that the Soviet Union collapsed. That's a pretty great ending for the US. And blaming the casualties on the US is silly when the invader was the Soviet Union trying to prop up an unpopular government.
It's like trying to blame the casualties of the US Afghanistan War on Pakistan or Iran.

Keep an eye on Mike Johnson. He did the right thing here, but I am skeptical that he did it out of a sense of duty alone.
