@@matiasgenoves7157 Thumbs up to that recommendation! Mac sounds even better than that cause of his weird style and interesting scales he uses. Top notch songs, that guy is incredible.
I love the idea of the Hot Hand. I'm in a wheelchair so expression pedals aren't really feasible for me, but something like that would really open up a lot of possibilities.
So, the first three were basically what I imagined when you said "absurd guitar pedals." Then you brought out the VHS one, which is...imo, one of the best implementations of That VHS Effect I've run into. It's evocative without being cliche, characterful without being overbearing. Hell, I might just get one myself.
When you played the demo of the T-120 I was shocked at how hard the nostalgia kicked me in the gut. Reminds me of watching VHS recordings of twin peaks episodes.
You could have features almost any of the Rainger FX pedals and they would have been good for this list. They release some very unique stuff. Thanks for highlighting the Demedash T-120. I never heard of that pedal or that company. What a cool idea. Pair that with the Walrus 385 tape projector overdrive and you’ll have vintage movie vibes just pouring out of your guitar!
I feel like if you found a pedal that sounded tonally the same but then switched to the discman pedal occasionally or at specific parts it would create a really interesting sound. It would legitimately sound like a song is skipping.
The video tape echo actually sounds good , I'd like to have one. Your mini ark demo sound just before the spaceship reminds me of music from the old NES Megaman game.
THANK YOU! You've now become my favorite guitarist you-tuber! (I guess that's a compliment.) After watching this, I had to go back to watch all the other peculiar, bizarre, weird, etc guitar pedal videos, as well as weird instruments, and you rocked that Shamisen! I'm old, and humor is one of the few things that keeps me going, and I LOVE your sense of humor. Thank you samurai guitarpedalist!
frick yeah these are the best videos and I wasn't expecting another one released within a year of the last one (not including the fuzz one) so this is so awesome thank you aaah I'm freakin' out for some reason
I believe Nathan Navarro uses a Hot Hand to make dubstep bass. He has it on his thumb, so it makes a lot more sense than strumming since the thumb is mostly static while plucking, and he can wah it on purpose.
Please bless our ears with a full version of T O N E 1994 (6:21)! I was instantly hooked by that theme. Reminds me a little of the sound on the album _Trio Loco_ by Jeff Richman.
Before this video I never knew about bit crusher pedals. I was so inspired that I started researching like crazy to find a less expensive alternative but after a week I bought myself the mini-ark! I can finally fulfill a lifelong dream of recording the entire Megaman 3 soundtrack on guitar.. Thank you for making this video series and all your others. Now can you recall the settings you had when you played that OST riff?
I’ve got a hot hand 3. I figured out that you can add a foot pedal and set it to control the wet/dry mix, so you can control the amount of the hot hand effect fairly easily, or even turn it off altogether. Comes in handy when playing live.
That's what punk bitches who actually can do something the guitar will do. I know, I hate it too. A punk bitch with skills, who knew?!?! Someday, he'll learn. Someday, we probably won't....... Bastard!
That delay reminds me of the Echoplex I used to use. I would get too lazy to change the tape cartridge when it wore out and it actually got cool sounding
hot hand + majority of the source audio pedals + electro bass guitar give you an opportunity to play brutal hardcore dubstep live but dubstep only and its mindblowingly hard to master
Was it howard who made this? either way, he no longer works for them afaik. After the owner was killed in a tragic accident (tree fell on his car during a storm), there was much disagreement about who would take the company forward. Truly tragic because they were just really taking off
risingpower Wow, I didn’t know any of that. That’s a shame about the owner and now the lawsuit. I hope they can all come to an agreement. He’s done a lot for that company. I’m pretty sure the DiscMan was his design though. That is based on gear page threads I’ve read regarding the Howard and that pedal specifically as well as his Deep Dive CsidMan video and teaser video for the pedal.
@@eternity9099 I remember it was released shortly before or after the death of the founder. My friend used to work there, which is the only reason i know any of this. Unfortunately he and many others were laid off months after the accident.

100% agree. I can imagine even where to use it.

It gives, in my opinion, the notes a really warm tone.
yeah.... no wonder those are popular

Duuuuude! Yes.
I want to see you play a full segment with all of your favorite pedals
INCLUDING THE MARVELOUS T-120
Lordy that thing sounded like liquid gold
4:40 How they made the How It's Made Intro
7:32
When your hand falls asleep
6:20 so much lo fi vibes! Combine that pedal it with the Stingray and you're golden.
0:38 That’s actually just his old yearbook photo.
I love the attention to detail in these videos. The worn-out VHS effect on the screen when you were playing the Vaporwave was particularly awesome.
3:22 sounds like a yoko ono vocal solo...
That pedal made in Winnipeg is actually a really cool Eco. I love all these small pedal companies and all the stuff they do with the simple stomp box.
TONE 1994 sounded so hauntingly sweet!Let's hear that in a full production!
Review the 14 knob pedal together with the count to five in a video. That would be a whole new level of wackiness.
6:20 *Mac DeMarco wants to know your location*
"Suddenly you have R2D2 in pedal form"
I LOVE HOW SERIOUS YOU KEEP YOUR TONE WHILE SAYING THIS I LOVE IT, DEAD 😂

That T-120 Video Tape Reverb sounded awesome ! 👍

that videotape echo is genuinely cool! the sounds are so nostalgic and clean
The guitar pedal Hot Hand 3 is like the one used by Herman Li in the music Heroes of Our Time- DragonForce
You ain’t got an idea how much I fucking love this series
The Demedash VHS Echo!!! That's literally the top of my buy-next list.
By the way, if you turn up the modulation and turn down the time and repeats, it gives you a hell of a chorus. 👍👍
4:37 Tom Morello definitely wants this pedal
The videotape echo is actually amazing! Loved the possibilities
Pretty sure Melt Banana uses something like the Hot Hand as some sort of drum trigger system.... time to investigate.
The Hot Hand 😂😂😂 I don't know why, but I couldn't stop laughing at that 😂 that thing is great. I want one. Looks like it'd be fun to play with

The T-120 was the only one I would consider using as a serious musical tool. Sounded great!
"CD scraped along the pavement" was so perfect for that sound. Omg

hi from Portugal, keep up with the great content :D

Videotape pedal sounds unreal. Should be a staple for most guitarists based on this video
The 2 questions i have are:
*was R2D2 recorded in a guitar?*
*and if i made a videogame could I call you for the OST?*
R2D2 was made with an ARP 2600, iirc
I can see myself using the T-120 Videotape Echo, really pleasant sound and I feel it's gonna be great for ambient stuff.
