The most impressive thing about all this, is how Andrew remembers how every piece of his gear works. I'd love to see a video where he tackles the gear he has no idea how to use properly and makes a song out of the chaos
yes very impressive.... you wan't to hear something equally impressive? a racecar driver who knows how to drive, or an fireman who knows how to put out an fire...
@@michel5148alright smartass, i hope you're not the same piece of shit, but its kinda similar there too. In order to do things well, you need to have knowledge. Bro, the vocal stuff at the end is BY FAR the best section of any gear demo I’ve ever seen! Hall of fame performance!! Smiles for miles! You rock!!!!! 🙌
Yeah, that part was awesome. I don't have this pedal, but I'm definitely going to try to do some similar stuff on my Force now, using a mic and its knobs and xyfx like a beefed-up kaoss pad.
This might be my favorite pedal ever. Between what you, HAINBACH, and Emily Hopkins (harp pedal lady) have done with it, there's just a whole world of options in this one pedal.
So many of those sounds gave me Knobs video vibes, makes sense he helped develop it. Love that he and ChaseBliss are putting their brains together and making awesome things.
I also own a chase bliss pedal (dark world) and I love it, there is so much flexibility with it, which can be overwhelming at times but you just get sounds you couldn't otherwise get. They really nail this kid of stuff
I heard Chase Bliss is actually developing a pedal that will be able to predict what you are going to play before you play it...it then takes those signals and records them and sends them back in time with the precision that only Chase Bliss can execute, so that when you play the note...you actually hear it the exact moment you play it. Insane. It's called the "Fuxdatdo?".
I got rid of most of my guitar pedals but kept the Board and Power Supply in case I ever find one I want to use. I think this is the one. What a cool little machine! Reminds me a lot of my Data Bender but with different approach to it
Interestingly the section where you used it on vocals made everything click for me as to what the pedal is actually doing to inputted audio, definitely the most ear-boggling out of the three trials though!
This seems really cool. When you were using the guitar with the tape static underneath it reminds me a bit of the production on oliver trees album splitting
So glad you used it with the modular palette. That one really helped open up some ideas in my head. I could see this being a good friend to my Elektron Model:Cycles. Cheers.
this could be a great inspiration in the studio for playing around with some infected mushroom and psy trance vocal type stuff without needing to know exactly how to dial in and automate a bunch of different effects at once or to do a non laptop set-up for those genres live, pretty sweet
Great overview Papa Andrew… please do more Chase Bliss demonstrations….your demo is practical and makes me even understand my current CBA pedals better…. Superb examples , Niceone….
17:05 Instant Robot Rock / Oh Yeah intro from Daft Punk Alive 2007. Siiiiick. Also everything after that with the vocals was seriously wrinkling my brain! I ... might need this.
This is a great , and informative video for the chase Bliss Habit. I just got it unboxed. Gonna play around with it soon. On my days off. Thank you for the content . 😌
i could listen to this for hours. The synths strongly give me that nostalgia vibe listening to the backing music in adventure time. Just good vibes all round
The vocals thing at the end sounds like thus artist called Formants. He does this kind of thing live. Highly recommend checking him out. (Also he's the super sick guitar player of mathenoise band Lower Automation)
I could be wrong, but this seems pretty similar to like an extreme version of Ableton's grain delay with extra features, but also in a pedal. It's really cool!
Nice! Came to this video after seeing the Habit on Hainbach's and Emily Hopkins' channels. Since I mostly play with synths, this should be right in my wheelhouse, but it's got some competition with the Microcosm etc at a similar price point.
Seems like a legit way to get a modern twist on classic multitap tape delay functionality. Would be very cool to run CV to the spread and scan parameters. Also something like this but for midi looping would be awesome, i.e. some kind of "midi tape loop". And the 'In' mode reminds me of messing around with FX sub-loops within the FX signal chain, very cool to see that in a single package.
To me this sounds like a painter having fun mixing paint on the pallet. As always I have to go through several 4 producers one sample for the full emotional effect ❤
I imagine this being soo nice for improvising / practicing improvisation with any instrument. Seems to be kind of a fellow musician suggesting notes and harmonies to you, to which you can react which will further inspire what is suggested to you in the future. So nice :)
This pedal seems really close to the Red Panda particle, though with a longer buffer (or looper), with a little bit of blooper in it. Definitely super cool! Makes me want to go play with my PArticle v2. Go Chase Bliss! Go Red Panda!
I wasn't completely convinced with the guitar portion, I was starting to like parts of the pedal with the synth portion. But the vocal portion is what finally won me over. I think this thing is great for sound design and extra parts for songs but it's not like a phaser or distortion that is want on for a majority of the song or sat in the front of the mix. But weird sound design stuff and layers and background elements would really be a ton of fun to make with this I think.
That's a pretty cool pedal, to be sure. But the name sounds like the name of a too-cool-for-cats jazz or prog rock band: The Chase Bliss Habit. Very cool all the way around!
Amazing review! Nice overview, nice tempo, nice thoughts along the way! Absolutely great job all the way. 🙏 You just got a new subscriber. 👍 Definitely getting a CB Habit soon!! 🤩🎶

Yeah this is a hit. All the best from Mood and a fair amount of good Microcosm and Data Bender DNA.
You're a hit.
more like a baby from Blooper and mood.
Love seeing my family of favorite music channels commenting across this group.
Reminds me of a Morphagene a bunch too
I have a data bender. It is sort of similar seeming. I love the data bender so far
The vocals through this pedal are insane! That segment literally sounds like a psychedelic trip.
Definitely. Reminded me of the weird vocals you'd hear in a Shpongle song.

That ambient jam was beautiful, what a dope pedal
i would love to see if Sungazer will use or has used this, because it seems right up their alley when it comes to how they make their sounds
Seeing as it was released today I don't think they've used it before haha. But would be great to hear in future music.
ooh yeah you’re so right!

CBA pedals are more than just gems, they’re Crown Jewels. Joel is a living legend who gets it right time and time again 🌞
I didn't know how much I missed “Weird Gear” until I CRAVED that glitchy intro sting

😂😂😂
That’s probably based on the moog moogerfooger 106tc time compressor, which lets you hear what you play before you play it
Can’t wait! for that to not happen.
I ordered one in three months, and it showed up yesterday....
This sounds like a Futurama invention haha

man, this is so nice. it's like all the best bits of max/MSP and a bunch of other chase bliss pedals rolled into one. lovely video as usual.
The sounds that this thing spit out were so interesting! Loved the vocal bit, would probably also just play around with it for hours without breaks.
This pedal is the essence of the knobs channel in a pedal. And now you confirmed that he worked on it, which makes perfect sense
This seems really cool. When you were using the guitar with the tape static underneath it reminds me a bit of the production on oliver trees album splitting
OHHHHHHHHHHHHH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD FINALLLLLLLLLY, one of the best series I've ever seen

That was a fun one! Specially the part with vocal! 😂

Petition for Andrew to start assigning HAPM scores where applicable.
Wow that ambiant stuff really shined ! But haha the vocals part was so hilarious !!
Sounds like Robert Fripp studio in a box. Thank you for such a crisp guided tour.

Oh, and vocals is totally Butthole Surfers.
Everyone talking about weird gear returning and I'm sat here excited to have another floor video!

Arturia Pigments too
That vocal bit really made my brain light up. I've absolutely got to try some crazy effects modulation with my mic now.
Been waiting on this since I got the chase bliss email this morning 🙏🏾
This is looking really awesome actually, so much awesome live ambient stuff you could do.
Yeah called it, the generative ambient stuff is beautiful. I reckon a combination of that reverby synth and a reverby guitar would be incredible.
Just watched hainbachs video on the pedal, then i got the notification for this one lol
I already ordered this baby. Can't wait for it to arrive. Looks amazing for synth work

I love that Knobs, given the opportunity to make a guitar pedal, pretty much just made a Knobs-in-a-box effect.
Ordered as soon as i got email announcement. Can’t wait!
