Honestly, I have never heard Sammy G laugh as hard as he did when Samurai Jenny was trying out the fart pedal
That Across The Universe on Sitar was quite eerie and calming at the same time
I think it's deserving of a full song video
I tried to buy the fart pedal. $500.bucks? I’d rather shoot jizz into the night sky, like always.
@@theRandy712 For sure. A very worthy version.
Yeah, The Beatles are great! He played it really really well!
So cool. Make it a version, put it on any platform, the world will love it. I already do. 😎🤩
My heart will go on, ya killed it..
Lol I obnoxiously started singing when he started playing it
That was my guess as well
My heart will gum on
that was also my guess. what a pull.
hear now
My initial thought was, “Why was his go to Celine Dion” and the I remembered, “Oh yeah, he’s Canadian” 😂
I unironically love the Gumbass and I want one, a musical toy that actually works musically is rare to find haha.
And as a massive Beatlemaniac I loved that demo with the Shruti Box!
i think it could make some insane noises with pedals, and also messing around with different "strings". Different metarials and stretchiness would be very different and it would be a fun thing to mess around with
When he was unplugged, I was all "this is crap". But then he plugged in and it was actually really cool!
Yes Gumbass sounded great. Surely though, a cheap contact mic and a rubber band over a box would sound just as good?
Susuki anything…
Same and instantly knew I wanted it before he played it lol
That was truly a haunting rendition of My Heart Will Go On.
Also I unironically loved the Tesla Fuzz tone
Best way to make music with the fart pedal is to run it through a signal blender and rig it up in parallel and it is just hilarious. I have an electric upright bass and I was plaing Bach's first suite and activating the pedal is just too funny. And at the end in the prelude when that chord is slammed, as it rings out there's just a honkin', wet fart that blows and it's just... well, let's just say Mozart would be so proud.
That's hilarious! 😂 And Mozart would definitely approve!
I thought you were gonna say that the best way to make music with the fart pedal was to pair it with the Turd Fuzz by Dr No
An inline volume pedal is great in the fart pedal's parallel fx path
Welcome!.. To The World Of Tomorrow!!!
Waiting for video upload.
7:57 this thing is really cool! The ability to get those fretless sounds in techniques without having to use a slide or buy a new instrument, while being able to get an idea where notes are below it seems great. It also doesn’t cover the entire fretboard indicates to me that they should make one that only covers the bottom half so you can still use the top half for some chords (or you could just saw it in half) so that you can kinda emulate a viola de gamba and play chords with frets and melodies fretless.
Yeah, but... Did he say 50 dollars? For a piece of plastic?
@@windyr I think we cound just get any piece of plastic, put it on the fretboard of a guitar and it will sound the same or close enough. That thing isn't worth 50 dollars
Without a doubt my favorite series after the wacky guitars
Always incorporating my heart will go on with whatever you can play. Love it
The GumBass looks very usable. I can picture myself sampling it or using it to add a different flavour to my bass lines
Love this series, it's definitely really interesting finding all the weird ways people have figured out to make cool sounds. Keep em coming
My heart goes on for you, man. ❤
This samurai just played my heart will go on with a rubber band
Give this samurai an award and a record deal
I really love the channel and this series. Thanks for keeping it real SG.
The fact you got that bass in tune is pretty amazing.
Even on the Tesla box Hotel California is still recognizable
I've got an older device called the Makey Makey, which works much like the Playtron but is a little more general; by default, it appears to the computer to be a computer keyboard, so it's sending keypresses to whatever app is open, and if you want MIDI from that you have to have a program that translates (or reprogram it, since it's internally an Arduino). Anyway, its standard demo was the Banana Piano.
Do you know such a program that retranslates midi for Makey Makey?
@@portwain I've used one of the customizable virtual keyboard to midi programs, the sort that draw a piano keyboard on screen and let you map keys to it - something like VMPK.
The flatter is something that I’ve been looking for for a long time!! Thanks for sharing :)
That Shruti box is rad. It would be pretty easy to create those same drone tones with a harmonium, and I'm guessing that's some of the inspiration, but the idea that one can pump the Shruti box while also playing another instrument is so cool.
After looking it up, the Shruti Box is indeed descended from the Harmonium. Before the Harmonium was introduced to India, the drones in their music were produced with string instruments like the Tambura.
I used to study carnatic music and in our class they used a harmonium instead of shruti box
Dude that last clip with you sharing a laugh with yo love, made my heart happy 🥹
I'm so glad you covered the Flatter. I've been interested for a few months but the only videos I could find at the time were on the company's own RUclips channel.
Fart jokes are always better with other people lol it was lovely seeing you and Samurai Jenny have so much fun with the fart pedal :)
IKR, it wouldn't be even remotely as funny as it was if there were no other people involved lol
I was going to make something similar to the Playtron(albeit VERY janky due to having practically no budget lol) for an artpiece in metal workshop when I studied art in university, but the world shutting down that spring kind of got in the way. I wanted to dangle a bunch of strings from the ceiling or strips of steel protruding from the wall, all connected to some kind of MIDI device and a speaker to make an interactive soundscape with it. Maybe I could try it again now that there is a device that will do the touch-to-sound-signal part for me :o
My heart will go on, you nailed it
That electric music box works really well with Midi file music, as it attempts to recreate the entire wavelength sent to it. With Midi, or at least normalized songs, it actually sounds incredible
That Gumbass thingy reminded me of cut out bottle with a string in it, i used to love it as a child haha
the rubber band thing is so cool wtf i need one
also the tracks you made for that^ gadget and the one you made playing food sound like a dope ass soundtrack for a videogame, love them
Dude!! When that "Sausage Drum" made the "Meow" sound, I did a legit spit take (I was drinking water at the time).😂😂
Absolutely every time I see one of those electric sitar guitars, I think of an interview I read when I was a kid with Robert Smith of the Cure where he was talking about using one of them in the song Fascination Street, and he says that "it sounds less like a sitar than an egg does." For some reason, that quote has stuck with me for the rest of my life. 😆
I love these vids. Great job keeping up on entertaining content!
If you run the fart pedal through reverb and distortion, you can create some great dark ambient sounds. There's a guy (I think it's crustbag?) who has a video where he makes a full on song by doing that, although he uses a DAW rather than pedals.
I really did not expect the flatter to work - very impressive
I love the content you put out thank-you SammyG
As soon as you said “always copyright claimed” I knew it was Hotel California or at least something by Eagles.
I was not disappointed!
Love to see a Jenny appearance, you guys are hilarious together. Both of your laughing fits at the fart pedal are infectious!
3:36 Worst Hotel California of all time 😭
I love the Samurai. Thanks for the great content!
2:05 me growing up, I was told numerous times I was a gifted musician.. I got my first instrument about 1 year ago.. I still feel like I don’t know a thing..
Ps.. you’ve been one of my guides to what I feel I don’t know..
You have helped me open the door to my haters..
Good or bad, you did that, and I honestly and greatly thank you for that..
Your a great teacher!
🤘😜👍
Your channel is so unique absolutely amazing thank you ☺️
my heart will go on,on the mini "stand up bass"? lol just began an fun times. i dig it for what it is. sounds kinda cool.
I love these kinds of videos. It's just wild what people create, left to be unearthed by some samurai from Winnipeg 😅
Speaking of such finds, I found a mini Koto in at a thrift store a few days ago. It's more of a novelty/centrepiece than an actual instrument, but you can tune it and play it... just not very well lol. It just makes me wish I had a spare three thousand dollars lying around to buy a real koto.
Also, something that would be neat to explore is the world of single board computers like the Raspberry Pi and BeagleBone. People have taken those little circuit boards, barely the size of a credit card, and used them to create their own multi-fx pedals, instruments, even recording rigs. It's insane how technology has evolved
You should do a video on gimmicky guitar TECHNIQUES. I would like to know what unusual ways of playing the guitar are useful or are just a gimmick.
Always interesting to see you test weird musical gadgets. Now you need to test a foot pedal with the tesla coil amp 😂
the little gumbass thing was actually pretty cool once you plugged it in.... Shocked
This was such an enjoyable video!
I think this is one of the most positive reviews Sammy's ever done!
Congrats ON 1 MILLION Subs!! you 100% deserve this and many millions more for your dedication to the YT grind and the skill of making Music, Videos, Content. Here is to 8.91mill more subs
Loved the queen Celine cover! Cheers from BC
So good!
You really need to get some SOMA and Ciate Lonbarde gear.
my heart will go on on that gum bass sounds very tastful very accoustic.
My heart will go on. That's pretty cool that you could play that on that tiny bubble gum bass thing.
Good stuff! Working on the Fart pedal would be a gas!!😂💨
Love that you do a serious review and still provide good entertainment and examples! Keep up the good work!🎸👍🏻
PLEASE bring back the all-course bundle. I would LOVE to purchase all your courses in one.
That fuzz jam you did with the tesla coil sounds a lot like Sister by The Black Keys, super cool!
The Shruti Box would be a cool impetus for an episode on pedal tones.
6:00 words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup
Just what I needed today!
Samurai Jenny's laugh is infectious! Fun stuff today.
Nice rendition of "My heart will go on" bro.
Across the Universe with the Shruti box and sitar-itar (am I spelling that correctly) was amazing!! I can totally hear John Lennon doing something like that!
Superb rendering of "My hearth will go on" 👌
My Heart Will go On until the rubber band breaks 🤣 the resistance must make it difficult so kudos are earned. The sitaratar Across the Universe was kinda pretty but the childlike laughter between Samurai Jenny and Sammy G was priceless.
No practical value outside of the surprising someone (especially a stoner) but, the vegetable piano if it had 88 wires and if you used black and white sponges or something could be cool? Why not just buy a keyboard though right? I still liked the pickle drum machine because it caught me off guard 🤣✌️❤️🎸🎶🙏
Because 88 key keyboards are expensive as shit
@@wolfetteplays8894 🤣 Yeah, I forgot about that part. If I'd been good I'd ask Santa in December but, I'll be getting the same bag o coal I get every year? I wonder if the _Keebler_ Elves might be able to put something together at a cut rate because, they don't have a naughty list.
Ooooh they make a Bass Flatter too! That one's got my interest!
My heart will go on
Gumbass sounded really good! I could see that being used in some creative, powerful ways.
You made Celine so proud with My Heart Will Go On!
the gum bass riff without the 8 bit backing track sounded like name a doom metal band riff. I still love it tho
My Heart Will Go On at the beginning on the little bass rubberband thing?
this was amazing thank you samurai
The best rendition of "my heart will go on" I've ever heard 😂
Wonderful rendition of My Heart Will Go On
that flatter is very tempting
I did my music degree dissertation on fretless guitar… I would have KILLED to have something as simple as the flatter at the time 😩
Nice gadgets :D and the song is "my heart will go on" by Celine Dion :D
The song from the gum bass was my heart will go on.. just what it sounded like to me..
My heart won't go on at 0:47
I don't even find farts all that funny but that pedal was hilarious! I loved the pickle and carrot keyboard too 🙂
In the ad, they push a strawberry onto the post on that Tesla coil thing
honestly my heart will go on on that bass thing slapped
Bought a gumbass after this video. Pretty fun to play around with! Useless for actually recording music but fun nonetheless
The fuzz from the Tesla was beautiful
You should a video on different acoustic guitar sound hole placements and why so many acoustic guitars have the sound hole above the strings and towards the neck
“My heart will go on” is the first thing you played on the Gum Bass. At least I think that’s the name-the song from Titanic.
my heart will go on, the song played on the gum bass
My heart will go on. These were the exact notes my friend sang at the karaokebar.
My cat really enjoyed that song you made with the rat's nest.
your first song on gumbass, was my first song on my otomatome!
Wow that flatter is something I would love..
You have some of the most tastefully beautiful guitars I've ever seen
Loved that meow sample!
Loved the Bonnie Tyler jam!
My heart will go on, my dude.
Was that "my heart will go on" from Titanic on the Bubble gum bass?! Lmao idk just my immediate thought
The pickels and carrots makeimg that is mildly frustrating for some reason lol but I loved the vid👍👍
SammyG you make the pretty musics and I'm glad you ever chose to start up on RUclips. ❤
The song thet is played on the gumbass is my heart will go on
(Soft slightly in tune) "Near far" (off pitch screaming) "WHEEEEEERRRRRRE EEEEEEEVERRRR YOU ARE!!!"
Hey a lot of that stuff was actually cool this time. The demos you do with all gadgets from all videos are always awesome too.
Liked that whoopy cushion rendition of my heart will go on
