    Thank you for videoing this recipe! I was already planning to make both the BBQ sauce and the Sweet and Sour sauce if I have enough tomatoes left after canning spaghetti sauce this year. I'm glad I watched your sweet and sour sauce as I was picturing it as a smooth sauce like the type you get in an Asian restaurant. Now I know what to expect for texture and look of the final product.

    The sauce had to smell so great while you made it! That is the first time I have seen a steam canner. I guess they would be faster?

    • @MennoniteFarmhouse
      @MennoniteFarmhouse  2 года назад +1

      Yes, they are a lot faster especially at canning a whole batch of quarts of peaches.

    Oh, good one! Sure would like to make this but tomatoes are scarce here and the ones available are so expensive. I canned a lot of tomato sauce last year-just basic, no herbs. Wonder if I could use that instead. It has been canned once. We love sweet and sour sauce and use a lot.

    8:17 what? If you were making the BBQ sauce and sweet & sour sauce you would dvvd here before adding the ingredients for the sweet & sour sauce. I thought you just did because right after you say let's get to canning. Am I missing something?
    I know you said that there was a base recipe that you could make 2 things from and that you were halfing it to make the sweet & sour. That part was confusing since you had already added all the ingredients for the sweet and sour

    • @MennoniteFarmhouse
      @MennoniteFarmhouse  2 года назад +1

      I know that part was a little confusing, I meant that step prior was when if you were making a whole batch to divide it… I missed that when I was filming. Sorry for any confusion.
