- Home can ketchup to the flavors of comfort, familiarity, and warmth. Just like a dollop of ketchup on a plate of fries, home has the power to add that extra touch of coziness to our lives. It's where we find solace after a long day, where laughter echoes through the halls, and where memories are made around the dinner table. Home is not just a place; it's a feeling of belonging, of safety, and of love. So, let's cherish our homes and the moments we create within them, for they are truly special and irreplaceable.
In this video, I will show you how easy ketchup is to process and can Ketchup using the Ball recipe. This video is apart of the collaboration Plan to Can Collaboration that is hosted by Jeni's Scratch Made Kitchen and The MillerLife Kitchen RUclips Channels. There will be a Livestream giveaway on March 2, 2024 at 8:30pm on Jeni's scratch made Kitchen's Channel. How delightful! LeAnne, you are such a blessing to your RUclips family. I’m told it takes 2 to 3 times as long to make your product, like ketchup, when you are filming and editing so I’m just taking a moment to tell you how much it is appreciated. Thank you so much. Please keep these vids coming.
Absolutely! It takes for ever to film canning videos. I was up til 1 am with this one!
Homemade ketchup is the best! I like how you crushed the sticks. Thank you for the video!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing and being part of the video series.
Wow! Your husband should patent that! What a wonderful idea. So far I haven't tried ketchup. Thank you for sharing!!!
Thanks for watching! I will tell him!
The pot stirer is an awesome idea. Thank you for sharing the ketchup recipe. I'll have to give it a try.
Wow what a handy husband you have! It's so sweet how he made the stir thing. Thanks for sharing this recipe. Looks yummy. I will try this next summer.
He certainly surprised me with it! I didn't even know what it was until I asked him what it was.
Awesome stirring tool your husband made for you. The ketchup looks good. Thanks for sharing.
Looking forward to bottling some this summer! We are trying out a few recipe variations during the winter, so fun! Thanks for the video!
Wow~ I made Ketchup so many years ago! I didn't have any of the gadgets, it would be so much more productive to have the gadgets to make the process so much more pleasant to make Ketchup! Great Video Leanne! Thanks for the video!
I love that you can have homemade ketchup on the shelf. I just need one of those pot stirring things. Howard should make some more, lol. Thanks a bunch for this awesome video and recipe.
Cool stirring tool. I think the amount of time it takes is what keeps me from trying this.
Yes, it's time consuming!
Thank you, LeAnne. I used to make this ketchup in the 70's. Friends told me they used it for everything. One said that it was good enough to put on ice cream. 😅 I love the creative mixer your husband made for you. Thank you for sharing 😊
Thanks for sharing!
Ketchup has always been a mystery to me so I’m hoping your recipe will be my answer - it sure looks like it from the ingredients. Thank you so much for the video and participating in this collaboration.
Yay! No corn syrup! Love the simple and natural ingredients in your recipe! Thank you so much LeAnne! Blessings on your day Kiddo!🌻🐛💕
Yes its a healthily way to eat! I hope this finds you well!
@@MennoniteFarmhouseyes thank you! Praying that you and Howard are doing well also. I hear the garden "calling" already but it is just out of reach for a little bit longer... LOL! But SOON! Love to be in the garden. Blessings on your day Kiddo!🌻🐛💕
Thanks for showing us how to make ketchup. I have been wanting to try that recipe for awhile now. Your pot stirrer is really neat!
You packed so much extra information into this video. I think I might make it if I had a string device because I just don't have the time to stir things for hours.
Homemade catsup is so much better than store bought!
Maybe in a future episode you can explain to us viewers ... how you choose your canning equipment. The "why and how" of your core canning impliments ... for newbies ... on how to start simple, safe home canning. You are certainly doing God's good work here. Information is much valued.
Thank you for asking for this! I have been thinking about doing this video when I upgrade my video equipment which will be very soon.
@@MennoniteFarmhouse Great.
I'm adding this to my list of things to can. Thank you for being part of this collaberation!
Wonderful!
Oh I’m so glad you did this recipe! I’ve had home canned ketchup on my to do list for awhile!
Beautiful ketchup LeAnn and your husband is a genius for making that pot stirrer for you.
Have a blessed night!
Thank you! You too!
A new garden season coming up and a new recipe to try!!💜
You’ve made me want to make ketchup again. Last time was the summer of 1984. We were building our house & living in the construction. Ilet our 4 year old son have a friend out for the day. I heard the giggling & found they were having a tomato fight 😜. Like I said, it was a construction zone, so I didn’t get too upset.
I remember it was a LOT of work, but I didn’t have a strainer/juicer at the time. I totally agree with using a steam canner
Thanks Barb! I hope this finds you well!
Ketchup is so much better homemade 😋 I will be making more this year.
The pot stirrer is a clever 💡 idea. Kudos to your hubby 😊
Thanks so much! 😊
I adore watching your videos. Thank you for sharing this recipe with all of us. Can't wait to try it.
You are so welcome!
I bet homemade ketchup is delicious. 👍😊 Thank you for sharing this video with us. 👍🇨🇦😊
The way my grandkids go through ketchup, I should can my own. I started canning because I prefer not having all the additives in our food. Thanks for the video
Thanks for watching!
I USE WHATEVER TOMATOES I HAVE WHICH ISNT ALWAYS ROMA SO WHEN I HAVE A MIXTURE IT TAKES THEM LONGER TO BOIL DOWN. LOOKS GOOD
Your Ketchup looks great
Thank you for sharing this recipe for Ketchup. Such a great recipe to make.....I love your idea of using a Paper towel holder to hold your rings.... I will have to find my towel holder and put it to use.
I got mine at Tuesday Mornings!
You make it look so simple. I know it is a long process, but I'm sure, well worth it. Thanks
Thank you so very much!
I thought ketchup would be way harder than that. Love that pot stirrer thingy!
Thank-you for sharing your learning expertise, I love your stirring mechanism. What a talented family
Wow, thank you
I surely will be making me some ketchup this garden season...looks delicious and a lot more healthier ❤ thank you !
You are welcome 😊 Yes It is way healthier!
I’ve seen several recipes for ketchup but have been afraid to try them. This makes me feel better about canning them . Thank you for sharing.
You are so welcome!
Great video! I've been hanging on to some of last summer's tomatoes in the freezer, wanting to make some ketchup with them! You've got me all geared up to do it now!❤
That's an awesome pot stirrer! Great idea and I hope he's loving the Ketchup he's getting!
I hope so too!
We love ketchup
I’ll have to mark my canning book with this recipe so when I grow my own tomatoes this summer, I’ll have this ketchup recipe. Thank you for your video.
Ketchup is something I want to try at some point. I live your pot stirrer!! That is awesome. Thank you for sharing.
Leann, I have the identical counter top (as long as that is bronze coloured chips!) Thanks for this great addition to the Plan to Can. I love having Ball recipes, as I don't have the book yet. So a new one I can add to more Prep notebook.
You are so welcome!
Genius idea for the canning rings. Paper towel holder. ❤ I will have to do that!!
Yes!!
I’ve always use Mrs. Wages ketchup recipe. But making from scratch is good to know. Thanks for the tutorial.
You are so welcome!
I've never done ketchup as we don't use it very much. Maybe I'll give it a try this next year!
It's nice to have a handy husband to make you things like a pot stirer for your birthday!
Yes I am blessed with him for a husband!
I just found your channel a week ago. I am enjoying your content very much. Thanks for showing me making something like ketchup isn't as scary as it sounds.
Welcome Dolly! I am so glad you are here!
Thanks for sharing this ketchup recipe and all the tips. Love your pot stirrer.
Thank you so much 😊
Thank you for doing this video. I had been wanting to do catch-up and was kind of scared to do it. Now that you’ve done it and I’ve watched I know I can do it. Thank you.
You got this!
Thanks for sharing this recipe with us and also for participating in this collaboration.
This is on my list to can this summer! Thanks for showing us how! ❤ I have a steam canner on the way.
Hope you like it!
This is another recipe I want to try to can for my pantry shelf. Thanks LeAnne for showing us the correct way to can Ketchup.
You are so welcome!
This is simpler than the recipe I used last year! I'm going to give it a try. The one I tried had malt vinegar in it and my family did not like it all. I've had to hide it in recipes that I've created.
Love how this turned out. Love my Ketchup. Thanks for sharing.
You are so welcome!
Leann you are such a good cook & explain your recipes so well. Thank you.
Thank you so much!
Ketchup is on my canning list this winter! Thank you for sharing!
You are so welcome!
Looks delicious! Thank you for your time making the video.❤
My pleasure 😊
Thank you for contributing to the collaboration. I love, love love the motorized stirrer.
Any time!
Leanne that is such a labor of love to make ketchup for your hubby. How wonderful that he made you a pot stirrer! Many Blessings from Deborah in West Virginia!
Thanks so much
I always enjoy your videos, LeAnn! Thanks for sharing. I've been wanting to make ketchup but I need to get my husband to make me a pot stirrer first!
You are so welcome!
Yes! My grandkids love ketchup … on anything! Thanks for showing all the details! You are a good teacher! Thanks! (Btw you husband must be a machinist .. my husband does things like that for me) I feel blessed!
You have the coolest gadgets! I was surprised that there is cinnamon in this recipe. Thank you for sharing!
We are totally in awe of your pot stirrer. We have tried canning ketchup in the past and were not a fan of the flavor. This recipe seems like one we will have to try again. Thank you for the video.
Thanks for this video. This is one of my goals to do more from scratch this year.😊
You can do it!
We love ketchup and it's been on my to-do list. Hopefully it's as easy as it looks. thanks for sharing!
That's a delicious 😋 condiment. A lot of work
I can’t eat store bought ketchup due to the high gluten content. BUT I would be willing to try this recipe. You make it look good and delicious!!
This would work for you!
I haven't tried canning ketchup. That pot stirring tool sure helped out.
I always enjoy your videos. You are a great teacher. Thanks for sharing how to make ketchup. Definitely adding this to my shelf this year.
You are so welcome!
I definitely want to try this!
I tried making ketchup a long time ago. Now that I started canning recently, I may just have to try it again. Thanks for showing how to do this.
That was truly a labor of love!
Good stuff. Yummy content. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it
I have a few that will not eat ketchup because of the thought what could be in it. But making it and having them help would be such a neat thing to do. Thank you .
What a delightful husband! He deserves ketchup, thanks!!!
Yes! I agree especially since he grew and picked the tomatoes and made the stirrer!
I was just coming here to say hi and I hope you are well, but you've uploaded a video!!! Yay! ❤❤❤
Love the stirring tool your husband made thank you for the video God bless
I made this same ketchup recipe for the first time recipe last year. My husband likes it but I feel like the flavor is closer to a BBQ sauce than ketchup. Based on your suggestion, I'm going to try reducing or eliminating the cayenne next time I make it; I think that spiciness is what makes me think BBQ. It is very good for topping a meatloaf though. Thanks for the video showing your process!
Catsup is my favorite condiment. I go through a lot. I use the Mrs. Wages catsup pack. I'll have to try this one.
Thank you for sharing this recipe with us. Simple canning.
I love learning about canning, baking and general cooking from your videos.
I'm so glad! It makes this all this effort worth while.
Your ketchup looks a lot better than mine. I should try this recipe next time.
I have wanted to make ketchup for a few years and this year will be the year.. Thanks for the great video.
The ketchup looks wonderful!
Thank you for sharing your process with us, LeAnne
Thanks for watching!
How nice to have a nice homemade pot stirrer 👍
I love it!
Girl look at your counter!!😍You have been busy canning!
I know!!
I love your videos. Thank you for this nifty recipe. ❤
I've been planning to make ketchup. I'm finally brave enough. Thank you so much for this recipe.
LeeAnne lots of work there but I found that putting carrots in it also thickens it !!! I tried the way you did and found that the Blender I had at that time was taking all of the thickening away !!! So that is why I did the thing of carrots !!! In the tomatoes it goes and it stays right their for us to eat !!! Kids didn't remember the carrots & I was getting another serving of vegs into my children !!!
Looks delicious. Thank you for sharing.
I love that stirer😮 I'm gonna put it on my hunny do list😂😂😂
I'm hoping for a great crop of tomatoes this year so I can attempt to make ketchup. Thank you for this very informative video.
You can do it!
New to your channel and glad I stopped by. Home canned ketchup is healthier than the store bought.

Thank you very much. I have not tried making Ketchup.. we don't eat it that often enough to make it. Excellent information and thorough video.
I didn't know Howard even liked ketchup until I canned it one summer. Thats how much we used to use it.
Love that pot stirrer!
Another great video! I so enjoy your channel!!!

😋 homemade ketchup is delicious!
Always wanted to can ketchup, this may be the year.
