If Jason Newsted was on that album, then that is one thing they had done a lot to him, the only time you could hear him when He was with Metallica was when there was live. But in studio I think there was not much justice for Jason Newster. James Hetfield would deny it though.
Good stuff! thx very much for sharing! nice playing & cool sound! never realised that newstedt played that much on the album🙉. Anyway I love the good old shit!
Beautiful G&l, bro!!! My band thrives on this tune! Death Metallic we are called. From new jersey. I also own a 91 L 2000!! She loves me, and I love her back!!!! Great job!
I've honestly never played either of those other basses, so I cant really compare it. The only other bass I have had was an Ibanez and this one has a much wider neck. I find it much easier to play.
+Thomas NoName (Angrysaladman) Having owned a Tribute M2000 for a short while, I can say it has a wider neck. I own a Squier P-bass Special, which has a jazz neck, and the G&L neck is certainly wider and more comfortable, in my opinion.
Wow just found this channel. This whole channel's awesome, insta-subbed. Do you take requests? Coz I really wanna hear you do the bass for "An Honest Mistake by The Bravery" Will go and check out your other videos now :p
Well..i've only owned 2 other basses in my life (both Ibanez)...so i'm not sure if i'm the best reviewer. I love the wider neck (compared to Ibanez). The sound is a lot more full and rich and it has amazing sustain. The only con that I can really think of is that it is a bit on the heavy side compared to other basses I have played.
Thanks a lot for the input! Sustain is golden! I've owned several bases and it seems that there is a relationship between heavier basses and a quality built bass. So that's good to hear. Was your second bass an sr300? Looks like one but I'm not sure.
Enrique Alvarez Yeah...the greenish colored one was a SR300M. I did love that bass and still regret getting rid of it. But the G&L is definitely a more well built and solid bass that is easier to play if you have bigger hands like I do.
+Mike Sor Bass Guitar That's the USA version, but from what I understand the USA and Indonesia (Tribute) models use the exact same pickups and preamp. They just use some different materials and are assembled in different locations. The Tribute series has fantastic reviews and doesn't feel like a budget instrument by any means. However, I did end up with a lemon recently. A few of the frets were high and I wasn't going to pay $200 for a fret job on a new bass so I returned it. This was probably a fluke (it was an open-box item), but I'm guessing quality control is better on the USA models. Still, I'll likely pick up another Tribute model in the near future. It is no less of a beast than the one seen in this video.
+Ted Riggs That sucks that you got a lemon. My bass was also made in Indonesia, and I also have a G&L Fiorano guitar that was also made in indonesia. Both of them are flawless. Bummer that G&L stopped producing these basses. I know there are still a few brand new ones out there, but mostly all you will find is used ones. I know that all the tributes are made overseas...but then they come to the USA to be stringed and set-up before they are sold.
Anony Bass Fortunately the guy I took it to to set it up only charged me an evaluation fee, and the place I ordered it from issued a full refund. I'm fairly certain that I still want one of these. I've looked at many sub-$1,000 basses and, while I have seen a few that sounded nice, the G&L is in a league of its own. The one I got.. I don't know why it was so messed up. It hadn't been set up at all. The neck was completely flat and I couldn't even distinguish the tone of a note over all the buzz. Once the truss rod was adjusted, I was at least able to play the bass and hear how it sounded before I shipped it back.
The tone oh my god the tone dude
what about his tone? good? bad? ugly ;p? :D
+Dago 64 really good
New/fresh strings. The bane of all bassists...
@@ovekindvall4702 Wait they make new strings? :o

Nice to see you back on youtube... sweet cover.... and a pretty damn awesome bass
This song would be so much more groovy if you could hear that bass
Dago 64 I can hear it on one and to live is to die
If Jason Newsted was on that album, then that is one thing they had done a lot to him, the only time you could hear him when He was with Metallica was when there was live. But in studio I think there was not much justice for Jason Newster. James Hetfield would deny it though.

Pleasure to listen.
Badass!
Great
Great cover! Do you have the tabs ?
Hey, I was thinking about getting this bass. How does the neck feel? would you compare it to a P bass neck or J bass neck?
Thanks!

Great job! But can you play it standing up?
Do a Creaping death cover
Imagine Cliff Burton playing the bass guitar on this METALLICA song!
The tone is like that of testament

So I'm on the verge of buying this bass. How would you review it? Pros and cons

This is MONSTER! Is this the Tribute M-2000 or the USA M-2000?
It's the M2000 GTS (tribute)
