This is such a brilliant / beautiful song…it could be expanded to a 10-12 minute bass song easily, and make some men cry. It has soul…it’s hard to explain it.
All these people in here crying about picks. Play it the way it was written. With a pick. I can finger pick this song EASILY, but it’s not the right tone. My index callous almost sounds like a pick but it’s just not the same. There is nothing wrong with playing with a pick. I think you should have skill at both methods and I think you should honor the artist and play how they intended. Be gone pick shamers!

True story... For authenticity, play Steve Harris parts with fingers and Newstead parts with a plectrum. The fact that Newstead played Burton parts with a pic was to differentiate his style while keeping respect for Cliff. Despite that I mostly play with only fingers... This is a great tribute video to Jason. 🤘
