The video was commissioned by ScreenSkills, supported by the BFI awarding National Lottery funds, to help demonstrate how a film or TV set works to inspire the next generation of behind-the-camera professionals.

Thank you so much for this. I've been trying to enter the industry for months and months now but I know no one so nothing is really happening, really giving my best effort yet this week I really came to a point of frustration, feels like I'm banging my head against a brick wall trying to enter it.
Stumbled upon this video by accident today, and this just revitalized my drive to just keep on. Only need one yes.

ive been trying to get into location audio for a while now. its almost impossible to find any open doors. only realistic options seem to be boom op or go into post audio doing bin management / making tea for the pro's. why is it so hard to get into?
The Brits call it "DOP," we Americans just say "DP" - Director of Photography. There are other minor differences in industry slang, like we Americans call natural sound "nat sound" while the Brits say "wild sound"

im like the only black dude on set. i can count its one black dit one black cam op 2 black location guys on black location office asst. one black second asst and thats it. now that may seem like alot until i say its about 45-60 of us on set and 1 black accountant so 6/45-60 ppl. thats the industry for u also 2 black actors one female black actor
If you went to India, would you ask why everyone is brown on set? If you went to Africa, would you ask why everyone is black on set?
Skin color means nothing in the film industry.
