At the bottom of the plastic bumper, in the corners where it meets up against the Vijay, more expensive brands come with a bracket and screws to tighten that area up. Even things out and keep that from flapping around. This one doesn't have those. Did you fab up something or is it really a non issue? Also.... did you use the factory bolts or the ones that came with the Vijay and the backing brackets they provided? Thanks!
Thanks for the comment! You are correct this number didn’t come with those brackets. It doesn’t seem to be an issue. As far as the bolts I did uses some of the factory and I ended up buying a few also along with some beefier washers. Let me know if you have any other questions
We connected our light to a switch/relay unit, so I extended them to the output on the relay and yes the relay unit itself is grounded. And all we had to do is hook the positive and negative up on the appropriate output relay that we wanted.
Good job on the video and installation. I’m in the market for bumpers for my new 4Runner, but the industry leaders are outrageously expensive. I saw this Vijay on Amazon but was reluctant based on the fact there were ZERO reviews. How is it working out for you?
Well it looks great on the runner we haven’t had to really use it any. No recoveries no winches yet, I guess that’s a good thing ha ha ha! The lights and light mount are cheap but I figured for that price we can replace them when they go out. I don’t see anything wrong with the bumper I would recommend it.
Did you use the two brackets(only supplied brackets) that are suppose to go on the outside of the frame? I’ve tried fitting them, but the power steering hard line mounts are right in the way on both sides. I don’t see the point of the two supplied brackets if they don’t even help hold the plastic bumper cover. Your 4Runner looks good! What lift do you have on it?
Thanks for watching! I didn’t use this brackets at first but I did go back and put them on at a later date. I did have to cut and modify the these bracket to make them fit. As the lift we went with a old man emu bp51 3” suspension lift and we like it so far.

@@peterbarragan No problem, it did come with brackets. I didn’t put them on at the time I installed the bumper, I came back at a later date and installed. I had to modify the bracket to make them work around the power steering lines. No issues with nether the power steering or bumper after 6 months and many miles.
Oh my god you’re the best. Thank you again! Last question, I pinky promise what size bolts did you use on the side of the frame were you connect the bracket. Bottom hole mine unfortunately didn’t come with them. I’m not trying to strip the threads lol.
@@peterbarragan 😂 I think 14mm but I’m not real confident in that answer lol. I know I had to go buy some. I would recommend a good grade is bolt when you go buy them. It would have been nice if they would have supplied the hardware for them.
i have the same one and i removed the whole bumper out makes everything easier and I screwed the bolt backwards so the bumper will hold by itself then put them in the right way
@@hydesoverlandadventures over a year and I live in NYC so there is a lot of salty snow during winter time that creates corrosion but nothing major to be honest its good bumper for the price you are paying for

When it comes to installing the lights/ lightbar, did you just use cables to extend straight to the battery? Did you need a ground?

Thanks man glad it helped. I’m guessing that those are just for to help beef it up with a winch. Without a winch I probably wouldn’t install them.

How long have you had your bumper and how is it holding up

No I have not yet used used it for a recovery as of right now.

Does this fit the same on the limited 5th gen?
I would assume it would be very close to the same if not the same.
I can see this won't fit a 2020 without leaving that bull bar and light off.
You are correct it might interfere with the radar.
