Same, I mostly get cuttings or get plants from local big box shops since there aren’t any nursery’s around me. Plus I’m in college so no $100 plants for me lol
Worth it for me Monstera Thai Constellation, Philodendron Jose Buono, Piper crocatum, Dwarf Variegated Devil’s Backbone, Philodendron Ring of Fire and so many others!
I’ve recently purchased the Thai constellation 😮😊I paid $150 for 6in. So far, I have no regrets and looking forward for future new growth and I know it’s a slow grower. Ashley, please continue to share your rare hard to find plants.
Love my Painted Lady, the leaves are so stunning, they look like they have been painted with watercolours! I got mine as a bargain through a plant FB group. She must be about 4 foot now and I only paid £33 for her!
I got my Hoya australis lisa a year ago for $22 here in Australia (at Bunnings hardware). It was at a time when people were paying around $80 for an unrooted cutting. They're readily available now, which is wonderful. Mine has grown so beautifully ❤
Hey Ashley, I was wondering if you could do a video about your string of things and how you care for them? Mine and doing ok but could definitely be better. Thank you so much !🌿
I paid $40 for my little Thai Constellation and it is unfurling its first fenestrated leaf! It was on my wish list for four years and I adore mine. The only alocasias that I have in my collection are a small Stingray and a small Silver Dragon. The Silver Dragon has given me five new leaves witth three more on the way. It is one of my favorite plants in my collection. And I spent less than $25 for each if my alocasias. So worth it, but I probably won't get any more alocasias, any time soon. I have limited space and have over 100 plants in my collection currently. A H. Polyneuria is high on my wish list for sure. I am definitely not into Anthuriums and only have three Philodendron. I have a small Ring of Fire, Jose Buono, and Micans. I have cats and am almost out of room hign enough out of my little plant nibblers reach. Your plants are gorgeous. Thank you for a great video.
I have none of these. 😂 I do have tiny rooted cuttings of two pothos and a monstera adanosii. 💚 I’ve been binge watching your videos and am headed out plant shopping. The north corner of my house has windows on each side of the kitchen. Is this too intense for most plants? How do I start adding plants in the rest of the house with less natural light? 🪴 Low budget, homeschooling mom.
we are luckier here in the Philippines you can buy thai cons here for only $50-$60 (3000php) but for us its still pricey though but during pandemic it was worth $150 per leaf here... 69686 for $5-$7 (250-350php)
Thank you for this video, I have been an the fence all week about buying a scindapsus jade. It would be the most expensive plant I bought, but now I going to get it. Hopefully the nursery still has one!
Thank you for the excellent video! I am waiting a little to buy a Philodendron Painted Lady. It's been on my list for a couple of months but I just bought two new plants yesterday - have to stop myself from buying too many plants. Glad to hear that it's easy to grow. I hadn't seen a Hoya Polyneura (?) before. So pretty! Thanks again.
I watched your chanel and i saw the astrophytum cactus and wanted one...2yrs later i now have 20 species of cacti in my collection..but still no astrophytum!!😮😮
My P. Florida green is amazing. Found at Pike’s for $39, way cheaper than online. This one was already polled and had several leaves. Also love my monstera, bought like 10inch and now its up to my waist in just 3 months.
I also have most of these plants and with out a doubt, hands down, my MOST favorite plant I own is my 69686♡ I never hear ppl talk about it either! An absolute stunner!!!
Loved the video! In the description box you say it is sponsored by Costa Farms but I didn't hear you mention them at all in the video? Are some of these plants available thru Costa Farms?
Great picks, thanks! Going to pick up a fishtail Hoya now. For me, I've found Philo barrosoanum to be so easy, fun, and those big cow head leaves are just 🤯😋
How much light does the thai constellation require for good variegation or how far from Grow light..I just do not have a lot of grow space in late Fall and winter..it gets very cold in winter in Colorado..so also minimum temperature? Also, how much humidity do you have in your plant room? Tia
I'll be moving to NC in year or two to live with my boyfriend and I'm SO excited to visit all the plant stores you go to. I would of cried if I saw that Jade Scindapsus for $58. They're so expensive online and I can't find any here in Portland.
I love your picks! For me it’s the mexicanum and the Dark Lord. I got both on sale at my local nursery- I think I paid $62 each and they were 2 feet tall. Now they are over 5 feet tall. I’m getting ready to chop n prop them. My Painted Lady is on the struggle bus. She puts out tiny leaves despite being in a pole in good light. So I moved her near my lizard’s tank so she can get bright indirect light and a grow light from his lamp.
Jen, my Painted Lady is huge, and doing great! They do need brighter light to thrive! They also need a regular water routine. I water as soon as the soils becomes dry. I place a grow light over mine for the Fall-Winter months for a few extra hours, and it loves that! It’s currently in a North-West facing window.

Polyneura hoya is a wish list plant of mine, also the Thai constellation. the lipstick plant looks and sounds interesting, hmm...does it require lots of humidity?
No, not in my experience. Same as any other tropical, it will appreciate higher levels but can do fine in probably 30-40% minimum. Lighting is more important, I think
That Thai Constellation really needs to be repotted, those roots are aching for a soil base. I would plant it in an oversized pot so the plant is laying down more so the roots can take hold.
Oo I loved this video! My top uncommon plants that are worth the money are…Thai constellation, Albo Monstera, variegated Hoya Bella “Luis Bois”, Florida Beauty, Florida Ghost, Strawberry Shake, Rhipsalis Pentaptera, and my Monkey tail cactus!
Those albo’s and constellations are gonna have to come down before I pull the trigger. I’m always on the prowl looking for one at a better price! I’m in school full time so can’t afford those high prices. Beautiful plants regardless!
I really do like these kind of videos please make you understand better about the plant before you even think about buying them because you’ve already experienced that so yeah these would be great videos to do in the future just my opinion
@@LifewithAshleyAnita try better grow bloom booster at around 240ppm on your TDS meter. My oncidiums have been blooming regularly ever since. I use once monthly.
My monstera thai has a small chunk of white on the corner, and its recently starting to brown, but not like the normal crisping that most plants do, it more of a soft/"mushy" kind of brow. Could that mean it has too much light? Its in front of an east facing window and gets morning direct sun. The roots from what I can see look health so I'm not sure if its from root rot or too much sun
I love this video format! Thank you :) I’d love to see more videos of the plants around your house + your routines
I didn't realize plants cost that much. I'm not new to the plant game but have all the regular ones. And get cuttings from friends. Lol

These seem to be so prone to root rot at least according to RUclips. Have you had this issue?

You have some very beautiful plants I don’t think I can just pick one that I like better thank you for sharing

Extremely worth it plants for me: THAI CON, PIPER CROCATUM, PHILO. PINK 👸, PHILO WIZARD, PHILO BILLITIAE, VAR. STRING OF PEARLS, PHILO WHITE 👸, FLORIDA GHOST, SILVER SWORD PHILO, CUPREA ALOCASIA, BLACK VELVET, CALLISTOPHYLLA HOYA...

P. Jose Bueno and P. Florida Ghost. Totally worth the prices.
Great choices!
@@LifewithAshleyAnita wow!!! I follow your channel too. Love the garden tours. Will you be doing the International Aroid show ?

Where did you get your white shelves behind you?
I paid $75 for a 3ft+ calathea zebrina; it is an amazing plant.
Oooo so cool!

Lipstick plant might be my next. I want a English ivy as well. I just seen the nasal study on the best air purifying plants :)
Syngonium eurythrophylum has been easy and fast growing, I got one when they were expensive and another once they were cheap lol 😄
Awesome!
Love the video, I'm sure you're aware but the touching of the lens or tripod or whatever is very distracting. Other than that love it.

My lemon lime maranta I got for $84 here in Australia a few months back was 100 percent worth it! It's my fave plant :D
Beautiful choice!
They look healthy and beautiful 👌 😍thank u for sharing
Ashley, when you get glass ware that has a whitesh coating on it, someone told me to use denture cleaner on it to remove the coating.
Would enjoy you doing more videos like this
Thanks!

Love my Florida green. Same with my Florida ghost. They size up so quickly and are a show stopper when climbing up a pole.
The white bat plant is amazing! If you want rare with unbelievable alien looking blooms, this is the plant for you
Omg yes!!!
They are so gorgeous!
Thank you ❤
hmm you don't make your own soil mixture??
I have the gloriosum, jade satin and polyneura and I agree they are all worth it 😊

totally agree with the THAI 😍
Meanwhile, I buy like 30 succulent cuttings for $15 and try to propagate them myself 😆
Looks cool

I payed $200 for my Thia Constellation a year ago. She’s grown a lot and I Love her.
I have potting soil that has bat poop in it. Is that safe.
Yes
Yes, it's also called Bat Guano, you can purchase it by itself in a bag at nurseries, online also. Plants love it!!!
I SO LOVE YOUR ENERGY!…Peace and blessings.☺️🙏
65$$😍😍
cheers from Clt!
I've been collecting for about a year or so and the Gloriosum is my top wish list plant. But I love the McDowell also.

Great Video i also started this hobby last year its rather hard taking care of them all yikes
yes, it's a lot!
I absolutely love my ring of fire philodendron ❤️❤️❤️
I gotta say I think I’ve collected my top 5 plants I’m not sure how rare but pricey 😅

My top rare plant that is fast and easy is philodendron Jose Buono. The white variegation fades to green so there is never any brown edges.

Philodendron splendid is totally worth it. It’s similar to a gloriosum but climbs. It’s a fast grower and so beautiful.
Thanks!

Have fun! 😉
That philodendron painted lady is worth 5usd at my nursery
I got a baby for $60 here in Australia :/

Cissus discolor begonia 🪴is stunning and worth the 💰
Also the hoya wayetii variegated is worth the 💰
