I posted this on Doug’s channel for his video on this same unit…”Doug - WHEN I drive from Austin to buy an RV from you - it will be a unit that James inspected!” I enjoy your videos and look forward to each new posting. I appreciate your reviews and education, and I value your opinions.
I test drove 3 newer model (2017-2021) gas pullers when searching for an RV (2 were Thor.) I found them to be extremely loud with very shaky/stiff handing. I told my husband it felt like I was driving a huge roller skate with steel wheels. We ended up getting an older (and higher- end) National DP that rides like a quiet cloud for a 10th of the price. Since we are FT, we needed a better quality of build. I really think of Thor as entry-level, family vacation oriented vehicles. Thanks for the tour, James!!
The F53 chassis have those issues unless you go super high end for Liquid Spring. I'm with you though, after owning a E450 and a F53 MH, I would look for an older Monaco/Country Coach then do a little remodel if needed, or just modify a E450 unit (they are pretty good with aftermarket shocks).
What a beautiful motorhome, wow what a feature with the rear full bath, thanks for the great video. Keep up the great work. Not a bad price either, I was thinking it would cost more than what they were asking.
Nice review. For a 2022 to be showing more finish issues than my 2002 Beaver, makes me wonder if it will even make it 20 years? Seems like a stretch, but I agree with you, the internal space usage is fantastic! Impressed with the head room under the front loft bed. Thank you for the review, some family will really enjoy using that coach.
Yeah I agree. Utilize those bunk beds as an office and storage. Pity it doesn’t have a washer and dryer. I don’t care for those combo units. The rest is great for the price. Wonder how it rides.
I agree with your comments totally , for the size a washer and dryer would be great! As for ride I’m assuming it’s riding on the ford f53 chassis. That said they’re not all bad but with some upgrades on the front suspension they’ll ride out nice. My class C is two years old and 33 feet long, first trip and it wallowed a lot. I upgraded the whole front suspension and sumo springs in the rear. Rides like a cloud and handles extremely good. Side winds and semi trucks don’t even bother it now.@@MaryWehmeier
Darn should have done a close look at roof, Thors having issues with paint flaking off radius can even see it in your quick look. My Palazzo has paint on radius in bad shape after just 1 year and even staples coming up where radius meets roof, lots of flex in the middle where paint is flaking worst. Lots of reports on the groups, would be great to hear you opinion on how Thor does the TPO paint and radius.
yes paint was peeling at the molding from the sealant. Painting TPO is definitely a value option, even vinyl body trim on luxury RVs like to peel if molested. Thanks!
@@AZExpert I think the issue though is Thor is not prepping the TPO paint properly or not using the right paint just in the last year or two. If you look at the Palazzo inspection you did a couple years ago on a 2017 the TPO paint was fine and not flaking but looks much thicker than the new stuff that is coming off within the first year: ruclips.net/video/upC6LLpYfwI/видео.html
@@justinharrell9256 Yes, I agree. Even the 2021 and 2018 Allegro buses I noted how thin the coverage was too, and you're correct I doubt they are using adhesion promoter on the TPO too.
That is an amazing unit! I was surprised at the price being so reasonable. Was expecting the ask yo be much more. Definitely impressive for a gas class A. I see a “Doug and James Show” coming soon……
Not a big thor fan but that would be an excellent unit to take the grandkids to Alaska in. It will not get great fuel economy but the godzilla does ok on power.
That is a really good deal. The Godzilla engine is 10X better than the Triton V10 and if I was in the market for a gas motorhome, this would be the one.
Did I? An honest review showing a RV I just inspected is selling out? This is the second or third Thor video I have which I was surprised by Thor's product rather than being disappointed.
Well it’s a Thor! There is a reason they are always approx. $30k cheaper than similar year and models from other manuf. the F53 chassis and engines have proven themselves over and over. Not so much for what’s built on top of them sometimes.
just the first year on the Thor house side warranty, pretty much the industry standard, technically the appliances and some structure will have some more time on them, but the chassis is still 36k or 3 years
I'll never be impressed by a Thor again! They sure are pretty inside & out but the quality of construction you cant see is sorely lacking & probably why the prior owners traded it in after only a year or year & a half. Just my humble opinion. I had a 2010 Coachmen Mirada for 5 years with same floor plan minus the 2nd rear bath, 35'. Best floor plan ever & always wondered why none of the diesel pusher manufactures built a similar plan. We sold the Mirada when we bought a 2015 Thor Tuscany & that was a huge mistake.
It’s definitely interesting if you plan on having a few guests whilst you’re travelling. Personally I’d like to see some improvements to the interior as it’s definitely looking tired and needs some updating. We have a lot more materials available now so there’s no reason to leave pealing wallpaper and the odd tears on the leather etc. Personally I’d aim for up to 6 people in more space than trying to cram more people into the motorhome and, hopefully there’s enough space for an additional fridge/freezer in the exterior storage if you’re feeding 6-10 people. As an interior designer I can see what’s possible. Great film and with a lot of thought James. Seasons greetings to everyone 🎁🎅🎄🥰 and a really great 2024 ⭐️⭐️⭐️
As a Ford fan, I do understand the comment. Ford has really cornered the Class A gas motorhome market though, so the only alternative would be a 15+ year old Workhorse chassis
I’ve had two Thors and loved them, A class C that we put 34,000 miles on it without issue and now have a 2016 Venetian DP with no issues. Much less issues than the two Tiffin class A’s I’ve owned. So you don’t know what you’re talking about

Hello James, just out curiosity, what make (brand) is the motorhome in front of the Miramar?
Thank you. J.
Wonderful motorhome
Very nice. It makes me love my gas motorhome a little more. Thanks James
Right on
Thanks for the tour James. Happy trails!
Thanks, you too!

You have got to bring Doug a lot of business James! If I were in the market for a motorcoach I would sure look him up!
Hey, that was interesting...never seen a semi go down the road that fast...backwards lol.
I know, right? Good eye!
Always get loads of value from your videos, thxz James
Great looking Motorhome. It would be nice to see the inside with all the slides in. It could get real cramped headed down the road.
That is a nice looking Monaco Signature Series, I think, in front! Love to see an inspection of that!

Even without a family in it I think it’s perfect for two people, easily utilize the space in it.

I would think a gas engine in a 39 foot motorhome would really struggle. Especially if you plan to tow another vehicle behind it.
So, V8 vs V10 in a gas class A?
The v8 seems to be better so far, the chassis is much better too
