I’ve had the front runner Jerry can with metal spigot for 3+ years now with zero leaking in any direction. Absolutely the best Jerry can on the market mainly because of the tucked away spigot. Highly recommend.
Mine still leak a bit : / Glad you’ve had a better experience but they are good other than the slight lid leakage. Maybe I got a bad batch. I don’t think Front runner makes them since Ironman sells the exact same cans so not totally their fault.
Thank you for your humor and your great reviews of overlanding products. Out here in Colorado, I am constantly trying to find better water storage and filtration solutions (that don’t cost an arm and a leg) while in the backcountry or car camping. Can’t wait to see the follow up from Front Runner to see if the next one leaks. Until then I’ll keep on obsessing over water.
Thats a great question! I think the best thing you can do to help is to share the videos on your social pages. Pop a link into your facebook feed and tell all your friends how entertaining this idiot is : ) After that, the more likes, comments and replies each video gets, the higher they rank. Id really appreciate anything on those fronts. Thank you!!!
I bought 3 LCI Milspec cans (Like Scepter). All 3 $75 delivered. Out of the 3, only 1 had a small drip in the vent plug (easy fix.) I even filled, laid on side, and stood on top. with my 185lbs and still no leaks except for the one previously mentioned. I don't mind tinkering with a product to make it work as advertised, but not for the price of the FrontRunner can. Many mods on YT to tailor them to your needs whether it be a pressurized shower or a simple spigot.
man you are way too funny to do so few videos. would love to see more. also have a prado so your situation is mad relevent to me and 100,000s other aussie prado drivers
Thanks , Mate! Best way to encourage me is to post a link to one of my vids or the channel on your favorite Aussie Prado forums. The more subs I get, the more I'll create : ) In the meantime, stay tuned this week for 2 new videos. One is an update on the Front runner cans and North face return both of which are filmed. The other is an overview of how to get Techstream. Just editing those now.
Good video. My best guess is that applying silicon grease to the O ring will stop the leak. This always seems to work with fittings for hoses or sprinklers.
Another great video. I just purchased a front runner jerrycan as well and so far so good. This was purchased on 11/22/20. Maybe you had a bad batch. But their customer service is excellent.
Thanks! And I agree. They were great, just a manufacturer issue and one of the two leakers has stopped leaking. I have an update on the North face return and jerry cans Im going to try to film this weekend so look for that in a week or so. Thanks for watching!
I have two, opted for the brass spigots, and they have been wonderful. Are the more expensive than other jerry cans? Absolutely. But the fact that the spigot is tucked away is why I bought them to begin with. They do leak when sideways, but I am not letting them sideways to begin with. Overall, I’d buy them again, as if met my needs and I had the funds to spend on it. Just purchase what you want, splurge if you have the funds, and get out there!
My one can leeked butt it was at the molding joints at the top it was not leveled and the thus had a leek a piece of glass and fine flatting paper cured that problem butt ye it should have been right at the starting point.
Nope. That one still leaks. The second one stopped leaking eventually. I had another viewer say that he ordered a couple and one of them did the same thing. Just get them from Iron Man so they’re cheaper.
Hey, Gruggs! Yeah, I saw a video about on one that cost $300. Ouch. I think Id rather just get a large gravity feed sack like the katadyn gravity setup ($100ish?) and use that to fill regular jerry cans. Which ones are you looking at?
Watching from Melbourne Australia.. have you tried a simple fix of putting some silicone into the top of the cap to make your own Oring seal or cut the top off one of the now free versions and try to see where it is leaking .. you never know you might get a job in quality control for the company.... good luck, yeah expensive is not always the way to go.. they still suck.
“They still suck” LOL. Glad to see some ausies checking out the channel. You guys invented dragging the family deep into the bush for a lark : ) I got the new one so I’ll be futzing around a bit today and might try those suggestions. Thanks!
Do you have a follow-up video on this? I am planing to purchase 2 for my upcoming trip and i might need to reconsider from buying these from front runner
I did the follow up in the north face warranty video I believe. One stopped leaking. One still does. If I were going to buy them again, I’d get the ones from Iron Man 4 x 4. Same cans, a bit cheaper.

Lesson learned, I will not be purchasing one of THOSE!
Keep up the great work 👍

Walmart 5 gallon water dispenser jugs, with a 15 dollar amazon electronic faucet at the top works great, nice pressure uses less water.
Awesome. Can you reply with a link to the electric faucet you use?

Well said my friend.
We should get in our GXs together and camp 🏕 👊🏼👏🏼
Great video! I also just listened to you on the RUclips creators podcast, it very informative thank you.

I just bought Front Runner gas ⛽️ jerry can😳
Thanks for the video! Is the brass spigot a direct replacement? Any additional effort to install?
Thanks for watching! You can get the part from the manufacturer through Amazon here - amzn.to/3DniBi1
Damn, was looking at this since stainless versions are so much more expensive. Wonder if you might be over-tightening it and warping the seal.

Good info I am looking for a jerry can but with filtration options. Talk about expensive.

@@WastingTimeInTheWoods yeah just watch out for the dingos and crocks.. hahaha ;)
Was there a follow up to the 3rd can? Can't find it.
Nah. Third can didn’t leak.
@@WastingTimeInTheWoods thanks

@@WastingTimeInTheWoods i will check on the north face warranty video. too bad the iron man 4x4 water tank is out of stock :(
Both of mine leak...10 years old...total BS
Yeah, it 's a shame. I tried everything, even food grade silicone on the o-ring and mine still leaks. Follow-up video soon Thanks for watching!
Looks cross threaded from Liverpool UK! ;-)
I wish! The threads are a .5cm thick so it would be pretty tough. I think the oring is too stiff but stay tuned.
If the Germans made them first and we call them jerry cans why is it not spelled as Gerry Can?
Have you had any solutions to the leak?
No, still leaks.
