My first EDC was a S&W .357 magnum. Over the years I switched to .40 caliber, then 9mm. Once I finally put my ego aside I discovered how practical the .380 actually is. My every day carry is a Glock 42 .380 with Trijicon HD XR Night Sights and a 9 round ETS magazine fitted with an XGRIP for a full three-finger grip. I load the magazine with 8 rounds maximum, plus one in the chamber, to ensure 100% reliability. Ammo of choice is Underwood Extreme Penetrator 380+P. This combination has very little recoil, is very controllable and EXTREMELY accurate! I carry it 24/7 in a pocket holster and honestly it's so light and compact that I forget it's there. The best self-defense pistol is the one you never leave home without!
Nice video and oh by the way, the G42 is a Gen5 (single-pin not including the trigger housing pin). The barrel not the Marksman. You’ll notice the sear springs are all reversed and not the earlier generations. Had mine since 2014 and ructions flawlessly. Trigger is nice and 5lbs on mine and great for defensive carry.
I bought a g42 a week ago and I'm having feeding issues with hollow points, hoping it's just a break-in problem. Have you experienced this or do you have any suggestions.
I’d put a couple boxes through it clean it well and lube your gun. Run some round nose through it to see if the issue keeps happening . It possibly could be your g42 might not like the hollow point your shooting, what is the brand your shooting?
@@JTSHOOTERREVIEWS I haven't had any issues with fmj its just hollow points. I have tried federal hst, hornady American gunner and critical defense, the critical defense has given me the least trouble but still some problems. The rounds hang on the feed ramp, I can bump the slide and it will chamber the round.
@@darrellperry8175 I’ve had that problem before my 42 has been finacky before with certain rounds I wouldn’t polish the feed ramp you could void your warrant with Glock and if it was another problem than you kinda screwed your self out of there help

That’s awesome love to hear ya story’s!
I've been considering a Glock 42 as a second EDC. Your review was very informative!
I appreciate it
Great choice! 👍
Make sure you have the 03 magazines. Never mind noticed you do have the newest mags. Great deal ya got. Stay safe.
Only the 01’s have issues 02-03 are fine.

@@darrellperry8175 I have seen hollow points hanging up with the 42. Is it happening at the begin inning of the mag or at the end
@@JTSHOOTERREVIEWS the beginning of the mag the first round mainly and sometimes the second round, I thought about polishing the feed ramp.
