    Your review is the best review I've seen and I have watched just about all of the reviews on this lens. Very informative and great demonstration of the image stabilization. Your review closed the deal on the lens for me. Thanks for sharing your results

    Most of my photography is landscape and nature, although I do do the occasional bit of studio work. I've never been a lover of wide open lenses in the studio, I prefer the entire face in focus not just one eye. I've been put off both the Sigma because in all reviews they are very soft (and usually I love Sigma lenses) and the Tamron as I believe there are a lot of duds out there. I'm between saving up for a new 2.8 II, or going for the f4 or a second hand f2.8 I, so I'm off looking for your video with putting the original f2.8 against the f4. A very good video that gets to the info we need, thank you very much and I've subscribed to your channel.

    Thanks for the review. I was really hoping for 50mm zoom comparisons to 24 and 70 as many reports about this lens mention how soft it is at 50.

      Hi, sorry that wasn't included in the review. I have shot numerous weddings with this lens now and have not noticed any problems with softness at any focal length. I am really happy with the lens!

    Someone recommended I get one of these for my old 650. I don't think they realised it's not the 650D. Anyway, the order is placed and I'm curious to see what Canon's interoperability is like after 30 years or so.
    It's clear though that any problems won't come from the lens.
    I've a feeling 'soft' is going to be relative - though I have some curious comparisons I can make using some of the ancient gear floating around. But your image at 0.4/sec is beating the equipment I have to hand with the correct shutter speed. Definitely better than going to F1.4 on my 50mm.
    Were any mechanical adjustments or microadjustments required to get it this sharp?

      It’s been a long time since I had this lens, I’m now a Sony shooter. From memory I don’t think it needed any micro adjustments

    People need to stop adding those music intros that are louder than the video itself. Quite annoying.

    If you have to choose between Sigma Art 18-35 f1.8 DC HSM and Canon EF 24-70mm f/4.0L IS USM Lens for Canon 80D, what would you choose and why?
    mainly for portrait, landscape, buildings and just everyday-stuffs.

      As you put in portrait in your need, aperture 1.8 is important. Other than that, f4 is enough as normally f8 is use.

    have you compared 24-70 f4 IS with 24-70 f2.8 (old)?

    • @nathan_woodgate
      @nathan_woodgate  8 лет назад

      Unfortunately not as I traded my old f2.8 in for the f4 as the f2.8 was battered and tired! The new f2.8 was just too expensive at the time.

      +mc sabai Im sorry but I only have full frame cameras. Im sure it would be fine on a crop body but obviously the effective zoom would be 38-112mm

      @@melodychest9020 Its called being sarcastic.....We no longer shoot Canon anymore but at the time I always thought this lens was better than the 24-105.

      @@nathan_woodgate Thanks. Did you move away to mirrorless cos it is better overall and less heavy and all that?
