Excellent video comparison. You play beautifully by the way. I see that this video was made around 11 months ago which is around the time I started playing the Tin Whistle. None of my brands are shown in this video. My first Tin Whistle was a Clarke Celtic, and having it only for one day, I knew the Tin Whistle was for me, and that the Clarke wasn't. I immediately placed an order for a full set of Lir Whistles. When I found out it would take 5 weeks to ship from Ireland to the US, I decided to order a carbon fiber high D whistle from Carbony Celtic Winds, to tide me over till the Lir's got here, but the Carbony whistles are so amazing I enjoy playing them even more now than my Lir Whistles.
ALWAYS the Sindt sounds best - that's why they are the most copied whistles. Ordered mine 1/23/99, $60.00 + $3.00 postage - still have the receipt. That's before John's whistle became SO POPULAR that following there was a two year waiting list. My latest (16th) is a "new" brand, the "LIR", which I bought in the traditional high D key - I bought it after Joannie Madden endorsed it, on RUclips. Joannie KNOWS whistles!!!
Great comparison video, I particularly liked the MK whistle. I currently play a Chieftain Busker whistle in loud environments (busking/loud sessions) and a Faedog for quieter sessions. Is the MK as loud as the Busker?
Love this video and the music. I have a Oz gidgee that I bought 10 years ago and having not played it for a long time I realized that there is a small crack on the wood. Did you send yours back to Mitch to fix it?

@@BaritoneUkeBeast4Life I haven’t tried the carbony yet… so many options out there!
Very nice comparison, the way you play makes the inexpensive Feadogs sound great!
The Oz sounds especially great. Your playing is incredible!
i love those whistles :-)
Amazing playing ❤
I liked the sindt the best. thanks for sharing!

Can you make a video displaying your low whistles?

I haven’t tried a busker, I think the Mk probably isn’t as loud, but is plenty loud enough if that makes sense?
This is a wonderful review. I've always enjoyed your playing and comments.

It was already repaired when I bought it, I would look for someone close to you who specialises in woodwind repair - in the UK I use Jon Dodd
What's the name of the tune? Thanks for the video by the way 😊
Is O'Brien still in business?
The voice too low while the whistle sounds disturbingly loud.
sorry! I'll try and make it more balanced next time
Voice audio is too low - you have a very soft voice - need to amp it up.
