Keep in mind we have McVay leading our division. He has owned Kyle Shanahan, many times when the Niners have a better roster. He's beat them more than the Rams have beat us. He understands the Shanahan system and dominates it. So my big worry is if we hire kubiak, he's going to own us similar to how he owns kyle.
Peoplejust say Geno =interceptions but that's a facile analogy. True analysis would dig into why did the interceptions happen and what caused them? I would say a minimum of 3-4 interceptions were directly due to pressure from the offensive line and tipped passes. I'd say minimum of two and most likely 3 interceptions were directly due to DK Metcalf not running the correct route or stopping or giving up on a route. What's the common denominator? The qb. The previous two years he did not have this many interceptions and had a lot more touchdowns, with a League average offensive line and running game. There's your answer
QB is irrelevant without a dependable O-line, and handicapped without an effective D-line. Every house will crumble on a faulty foundation--O and D lines are foundational.
To go forward you gotta go backwards or be stuck in one win away from missing the playoffs. 6-10 wins is getting you #16-#22 first round draft picks. Most Seahawks fans in hind site would trade the 2024 season record for a top 5 draft pick for the team to have leverage or pick a future franchise QB.
@@2jYeti Did we consider that when trading a real franchise QB away in RW? No, we went with his backup and we were fine. Why do people act like Geno is the only QB Seattle will ever possibly win with? He just hasn't earned that level of loyalty or respect. He's a middling QB making a lot of money on a team with salary cap issues, this is a no brainer... moving on.
"15 picks and fumbles we keep talking about..." Didn't Geno lose zero fumbles?? Isn't his turnover worthy play rate by pff or some equivalent like 10th best in the NFL? Aren't both those achievements made more impressive by failed scheme and line he had to play behind??
How the Hawks get their young franchise quarterback is quite simple. Move on from Geno and some additional players, immediately, that allow enough cap space to fix the line. Run it with Howell next season for about a million dollars. If he stinks, you can pick a top quarterback in the next draft. Unlikely but… best case scenario, he balls out and you already have the guy on the team!
Devon Witherspoon is an excellent player, but the Seahawks made a mistake in drafting him over Jalen Carter. In terms of team building philosophy, Howie Roseman will never pass on outstanding lineman talent, defensive or offensive. Johnny just likes the shiny things sometimes.
No they needed a presence like that in the DB room so Jalen Carter good but we ended up with Leonard Williams who should’ve been picked for a pro bowl and all pro over Carter. Look at the numbers Williams was clearly better but no we got what was necessary Eagles got him
@@darrellwoodson7904 you're neglecting the opportunity costs of acquiring Leo, which far outweighs Carter's. Leo is 30, Carter's what, 22? And could've had another starter with that 2nd rounder, or ammo to move up in last year's draft.
The NFL media is annoying and biased to the point it's almost unwatchable. When the so-called "elite quarterbacks" throw for many yards and have picks it's the price of admission. But when lesser quarterbacks do the same thing, it's a problem. Just as when "elite quarterbacks" let the defense carry them it's called protecting the football. But when lesser quarterbacks defense carries them it's referred to as the DEFENSE IS CARRYING them. Now "elite quarterbacks" are being praised for what lesser quarterbacks have been shamed for. It's ridiculous.
Salk is the biggest Geno hater in the world. Geno is clearly an above average QB at the very least, so it makes you wonder what other reason Salk could have for hating him so much.... 🤔🤔🤔
I just flat do not understand Geno supporters. They mental gymnastics required to convince themselves that he is good is astounding. The picks are always someone else's fault, the o-line is always the worst in football, yet they fail to realize that he isn't unique. Every QB suffers from bad o-line play, or bad route running, or bad whatever... Geno just happens to be the guy that turns those plays into costly turnovers, and a lot of it in the red zone. Hawks will win nothing, but a WC playoff exit as long as Geno is under center. It's an exercise in futility.
You watched the man get 7 sacked times and still almost win the game…. And then say Seattle just needs a qb… after a video discussing how all the good teams have good offensive lines… 👍
@@StevenW86how many times he avoided sacks though give him a real O-line he’d be an all pro. You forgot how many passing yards he got without a run game and no line.

Love DJ. I trust Mike. Excited about the new OC and draft. Off season will be fun. 🎉
GENO💥
The middle. One blocked FG from winning the division
He had that many intersections because we did not run the dam ball and he didn't have good protection
And bad choices by Geno trying to force something to happen.

Tell me you have no clue without telling me you have no clue
Geno clearly wasn't looking both ways at those intersections near the goal line.
Inter what? Lmao 😂
Josh Allen was definitely a Trailer in that last game.
Geno Goat Smith!!!

I get the feeling that seahawks will just be a middling team for the foreseeable future. Maybe even a bad team once geno's time here expires.
It’s not the QB it’s the Coaches that teach the kids to be great
It’s both, you can’t teach everything. He is naturally calm under pressure and a big playmaker in big moments

DJ for OC
Geno is Jared Goff but older. Move on. It’s not a discussion. Even with a great team, we will end up like the Lions in big playoff moments
Maybe time to move on concerning Geno
And play who? This draft is horrible for QBs.

What company is doing that simulator?
Prediction: Raiders hire Pete Carrol, sign Russell Wilson, and trade for DK Metcalf.
So they can still suck.
Pete does not like Russell Wilson lol
I'll take it 😂 DK is very good, not great enough for the money and attitude/detrimental plays on the field.
And then missed the playoffs.
All that could happen but I think the Carroll/Wilson marriage been over
Geno is the problem. Get rid of him.
DJ nailed Geno. New Qb 1 and go to the next level

Thank you Pete Carrol… we will take all that hate for Gino and place it into the dumpster…😮🤣😒
The most important thing is they need to get a starting quarterback. Geno Smith is a backup quarterback who makes mistakes at critical times
What if he’s behind a stronger O-Line?
