A hint on the fuel : Take the top lid loose and you’ll find the tank is integrated. Tip it back so the tank part is below the carb, disconnect the hose, and set aside. No clamps needed.
Great fix on that one brother . Got a cub cadet with the same engine I got to go thru also so the tips I saw on here will help me out going thru that carb also.
I watched four RUclips videos on this and you’re the only one showed that trick of removing the butterfly from the choke shaft to get the choke adjusting rod out, saving taking the whole cowling etc. off. Also thanks for pointing out at the beginning that the plastic pin on the choke assembly goes in between the two metal pins. Saves nagging doubts. (Sure, I took “before” photos but somehow always miss the one thing I really need to know.)
Hey do you have a link for the belt, I'm also missing a large spring for underneath. It's zip tied and working but if I can find a replacement spring I'll order it. Definitely need the belt.
Hi my idler bracket broke for 3rd time on ST100 this time also the belt the one I got from club cadet was at least twice as thick they claimed it was correct an upgraded part after wrestling it back on. Having it sideway etc. Now it wont start, the plug is not wet seems it is not getting gas, it ran great before I worked on it. Could you please give me some things to try should I try the carb repair like you show on your video? Thanks I like that video even I could follow the fix.
Mine is a beast. I've had it two years and had to take it to the shop once as it just stopped running spluttered twice. Was using it for the first time of the season and it did the same thing. .... Good gas ,oil, air filter etc. It will cut some heavy stuff but I think I got a lemon
I have this very same field mower trimmer. I'm out on a small part of my four acres. I'm mowing field grass and hogwart weeds that are about as big around as my thumb. According to the description of this particular mower, it's supposed to be able to handle stuff like that. But it does not do well at all. What I don't understand is for a field mower, why would it be string? It's a field mower! It would be so much better if it had some kind of metal accessory to replace the line. I've done a couple of searches and I don't find anything. Is there anything out there that I could use or make up for myself? I'm a 65-year-old crazy girl out there doing this, I could sure use some help figuring this out. Thanks!
Thanks, helped get mine running watching your video..... but now a few weeks later I have another issue the head is spinning slow.. if I rev it by hand it speeds up.. belt seems good. Let me know when u get a video for that 😂❤.
Good video. I have this exact trimmer. I use it 3 or 4 times a year. Sits stored most of the year. And yes, I do use stabilizer. I live in Wyoming and winters are long. I will try cleaning the carb since mine doesn't want to stay running.
Recently we bought one of these machines. The engine does not have an oil filter. Is not having a filter normal for little four stroke lawn mower engines? I really hope to avoid carburettor problems with this Cub Cadet but if we do I’ll have this video. Normally for little engines i fuel them with non ethanol fuel. Also I turn the fuel off and run them dry. Do recommend doing this? I figure if the engine runs till it runs out of fuel the carby is less likely to be gummed up by old fuel.
Yes, it's common not to have an oil filter some riding lawn mowers don't have an oil filter. Non-ethanol feel is good. It gets expensive and running. The carburetor dry does help but it'd be better just to turn off the fuel and drain the carburetor
A landlord asked me to get one these Trimmers out her one of her rental properties. I got it home and it seems so hard to pull to try and get it to start with the lever pulled down, for you can't pull the pull cord when you don't have the moveable lever pulled down. Just for fun I looked up on much they are new and a was rather shocked to see the prices and thought who would leave one behind? Well, wish me the best on getting it going! I will start with a fresh Spark Plug and Fuel! Much love to all humans!
I have the same problem with mine. Turns out it the spindle assembly. It cost 285.00 on Amazon and 318.00 on the cub cadet page. A new one only costs 399.00. It's a sealed bearing that has frozen up in the spindle.
@@kwytch3154 Wow, that is crazy! I took apart the carburetor on mine and cleaned it thoroughly, as is was gummed up with small particles and was not allowing fuel to pass through it. @repairgang I have this exact mower. It sat over the winter. Would not start this spring. I cleaned the carb still won’t start. Ordered a new carb and installed it. Still won’t start. It kicked off but won’t stay running. I’ve tried ether and squirting fuel in the carb. Still can’t get it to stay running with a new carb. Fuel comes out the bowl drain.
My spring is on backwards or something I’m not understanding? My butterfly is sitting in the open position when I put everything back on not the closed position
“Fuck you” HA! I’m getting ready to buy one of these and thought I’d watch a carb repair. Not crazy about the automatic choke and lack of throttle control. Thanks for the video! Ass munch!
Followed directions. Alas, at one point the connecting piece for the automatic choke to somewhere fell down onto the bed. I tried guessing where it goes but probably guessed wrong. Now the thing starts but won't run at full speed - chugs along as if still fully choked. JUNK... Any ideas? Too many wraps on spring? Something else?
