234: One Man's Quest For The Perfect Meringue

I visited my friend Dean in Big Rapids, Michigan and we wound up shooting a video.
Dean loves to make pies. So much so that he built a legitimate bakery in his house. He needed to make some meringue for a Lemon Meringue pie and we thought it would be fun to shoot a video.

My mom used to make some really good pies, including lemon meringue pie.
I never seen how she did it, it was always already made when we got up in the morning on the holidays.
The crusts were always light and flaky.
The only thing I knew that she did with the crust is use Crisco grease.
She always had the Crisco handy.
