As a young Oklahoma fan, I was actually at that Kansas game in 2014. Even with the bad weather keeping the stands emptier than usual, we got really loud for him that day. I hope he is able to find success in not only football but life as well. A great at the program and I put him as a top 5 back at OU of all time. But because he played with Mixon, he never got the stardom he deserved, as Mixon was just a flashy player and more fun to watch personally. But he always will be remembered or that game.

The average career of an NFL back is 2 1/2 years. Going on year 8 he just signed with the Super Bowl champions to be their 3rd down back. He honestly wasn’t even the best running back on the OU team he played on either, having played with Joe Mixon.

The quality of the Big 12 during Perine's days compared to the quality during Peterson's day is staggering. Peterson played at OU when it was at its toughest, while Perine played in the weakest era of Big 12. Although sadly, the weakest era may not have actually hit yet. The only people in the Big 12 who thought Perine was top NFL material were Sooner fans. Even though he was racking up yards, we considered the competition. And my beloved Red Raiders were part of the failing competition. He is a good RB who played at a RB factory university, when the competition was at its lowest point.

Wrong. He is in the league. He made 825,000 this year. If you are a third string RB in the NFL it’s not a failure. How can you say he didn’t make it in the NFL? I’d save that kind of talk for someone who is stocking shelves at Walmart. Even at that don’t forget about Kurt Warner. He was stocking shelves and ended up winning a super bowl. It’s way too soon for you to say he just didn’t make it in the NFL. Proof of that is that he had 95 yards and two tds this week. I just think ur so wrong.

Perine was a guy who ate up the small garbage teams but never showed up in the big games . Dude was average at best .. the other back Joe Mixon was a far better at the same time and you could see it if you broke down the films properly.

@@JackBlack-co5fx Fuente is in the unenviable position of following the much beloved Frank Beamer. Following the greatest coach in school history means everything that goes wrong is his fault, especially since his more recent seasons haven't been as good as his first two.
He really needs to have a good season next year or he's probably out the door.
