  • Mitchie over at SkateIQ often mentions that you should "jump" when you pump up a transition. JB over at Skate Park Lessons have said similar things. It was not until this session I got what they mean. I have never experienced this much speed in this pool before and I think it's mostly thanks to "jumping".
It's not a literal jump - or is it? - but more like "remove as much weight as possible from the board" when pumping up a transition. The way you do this is by pumping up - going from crouched to raised up - as fast and "fluid" as possible. It felt really good when I got it right, and going up the pretty steep wall in the deep end of the pool felt totally effortless! :-O
