An old drummer guy here... I find very few redeeming qualities accompanying this age of information abuse. But, oh what a delight to find you, Dear Sir! As one who has been cymbal-minded since age 10, you bring joy to my 67 year old ankle as it retains ability to play doubles as fast and as powerfully now as when I was 20. You challenge me in a very good way to expand my abilities even at my age. Thank you for giving.
I initially thought this guy was only about playing fast But I watched his crazy latin beats where each of his limbs basically plays a different beat 🤣 I was mindblown
There's a ton of commenters here that need to go watch that stuff. Everyone is hung on him being "fast" when that's just one dimension of his mastery of the drums. So many insecure people tearing him down based on their own ignorance.
@@Ty91681 Yup, it's like an athlete that lifts weights to help in their sport. It's a tool that helps but not the all encompassing thing (unless your sport is weightlifting but that's not the point).
As someone who has only recently taken up drumming (at a very late age......), I have to say that, watching your videos has given me so much help and understanding of the how, what, why, when and where of coordination. Top stuff from a top individual. Thank you so much.
Appreciate these, I already found huge improvements in my drumming from the last video, some of the excersizes were kicking my ass more than I'd like to admit
Unas ganas de verte hablando español, jajajaja Sos un grande, Estepario, no hay un batero que grabe videos que se tome todo tan en serio y al mismo tiempo no tan en serio. Brindo por eso! Abrazo desde Argentina
I like your style. As I recover from my leg injury, I had almost decided to give up on my drums, but I am going to start working on recovery and trying to get back to playing form. I have played for too long to mention. I have been in several bands both for a job and just for the fun of playing. 3 years ago, I had a workplace accident and broke both bones in my lower right leg. I'm right handed, so that's my main kick drum foot, even though my latest set has a double pedal. 5 surgeries later, I still have my foot, but I have a lot of metal rods and screws holding it on and very limited motion. I was actually going to stop playing the drums and focus on my other instruments, but my wife convinced me otherwise. My daughter is planning on helping me video my recovery process. Currently my foot does not move right to play the simplest of beats and I have been using my left foot and forgoing the hi-hat work. I play a bit of all kinds of music but my favorite is Jazz. I have adapted it into my rock, blues and country performances. Watching you has given me the push I need to get back to recovery and try your lessons to work on making my foot work again. Thanks
When he talks about 16 notes and 16 notes doubles and so on, I have no idea what he’s talking about. When he plays it, I think „aaah ok makes sense, no magic here, I understand it“ and then I go practice 😂 it works 👍🏻 I can’t read notes very well 🤷🏻😂 I just need to hear it and see it He’s amazing
These whole series of exercises have been really great! Thank you Drumeo for calling such professional drummers. Y gracias Estepario Siberiano por estos ejercicios que están buenazos!
Totaly appreciating the free lessons 😊. Maybe you could break the exercise, showing what left hand is doing, right hand and the foot, separetely, and then, all together. He is an amazing source of inspiration, but (speaking for myself, total begginer) I need to hear what every beat sounds like separately, so that I am able to play all sounds together. Hope this makes sense. Million thanks for sharing the knowledge!!!😁

Does this brother have any videos on how to set up the pedal for maximum response and rebound? That’s half the battle with quick foot work. Would love to see his suggestions.
I still can’t figure out how the hell he can move his foot that fast. It is surreal. I’m too old for that speed but at least I can get better. Great lesson !!
I love Estepario’s accent and nice manners. He loves teaching and the drums ❤ I’m also a subscriber to his channel. This exercises look super beneficial, will begin working on them🥁🥁🥁
Its amazing I noted these exercises ! Only question I have is, how to position my foot to be able to kick as fast as I hit the drum ? How to adjust the tension and the pedal and the beater so the rebound helps me ? Toes or heel or both ?
I missed the part where he makes a fractional mistake and breaks his sticks while screaming and punches his floor toms in the head a bunch of times. The sign of a perfectionist. He's definitely on his best behavior for Drumeo
Beautiful video with one of the best tutorials. Just one question. When you play your doubles fast, there seems to be a little swivel. Is that intentional?
Great video and tecnique... I was trying to do it with my punk band to advoid to use a doble pedal but I didn t get this amazing sound so I gave up, I even tryed with paradiddle with rigth hand and right foot, but I think to do it I need the muscles of Estepario🤣
Dopes battle. Props an alle Beteiligten!
@WHAT-SAPPMENOW-ro5wf Thank you for doing this in your 2nd language. I wish I could English with your accent. BTW Thanks for reaching out... Your lessons are hard enough to do, but easy to remember. They are the cornerstones of my practice routine. THANK YOU
Hope you enjoyed this lesson! Check out Estepario's 10 favorite hand speed workouts totally free here: hi.drumeo.com/DZ6g

Forget the drumming, its this guy's refreshingly positive attitude that makes me feel so good in these dark and confusing times. Thanks El !!!!
We may forget the drumming, we may forget where we put our keys and wallet in last nights drunken stupor, but we will always.. Remember the Titans
Funny you called him "el", which alone just means "the". Kinda epic though to be known as "the".
@@iauThe Estepario? 😀
“El” is similar to say “The”, “El Estepario “ is like a nickname or stage name
@@elikebudi, yes. El Estepario is translated to the steppe. A Steppe is like grasslands. Siberiano is relating to Siberia.

He is such an incredible drummer
No
@@schueff0r i agree
Not really
According to idiots, speed = talent and skill. He overplays everything and sounds like shit. He is not good.
I think you mean fast drummer

I do not play the drums I just love this dude
The best part about this guy is that he isnt shy in saying "talent doesnt exist, just practice"

A little bit of music theory goes a long way. I’d recommend trying to learn how to read rhythms.
It will take the rest of my life to practice these exercises…..but.. I will enjoy it….thank you

You are awesome dude!!
Who remembers stumbling upon this guy during lockdowns? Now look at him. One of the most recognized drummers on Earth. Wow.

This one lesson gave me so many ideas!!!
Getting his shine !!
Thnx for the exercises! But I need to play a lot of other exercises to be able to play these exercises 😂
Can you talk about your bass pedal spring tension
This exercise is gonna keep me busy for awhile!! I cant seem to get my right foot to do what I want it to do😂😂
Anyone notice the chain drive pedal at the end as oppose to the direct drive pedal he plays? Product plug gone wrong.. oh and holy hell he is good
When you've been playing drums several years and try these exercises, you'll sadly find out how bad you really are. Excellent mini series 👍
your the man :)
Found my new mentor
great video!!!
The feet are incredible!
Huh?
Feet work D: ???
Am I hearing a snare even though hes not hitting it? The HH and FT at the same time sounds snare like? 🤔

It's absolutely useful exercises! El Estepario, thanks for sharing! Practicing...
What about the left foot? do you do the same exercises on your left?
what shoes are he wearing? could they play any role in his playing?

When playing fast ska do you open the Hyatt or close it at the same as hitting the kick drum
