Yes Sir! If you're willing to sacrifice your time to teach, I am more than willing to invest the time to learn! I'm a beginner so anything related to the pitfalls and disappointments you faced just starting out would be great. It may also lead people to believe you're not superhuman so the risk is yours to take lol. Thank you so much for the lesson and I'm sure I speak for most when I say we definitely look forward to more. Blessings to you and yours everyone 🙂

I can't stress how important these exercises are to improve your drumming! While I don't play anymore, I had a load of books with similar exercises and they improved my drumming exponentially! Its good to also see a drummer who knows how he got to where he is today, practice and perseverance! I loved watching this.

As a beginning drummer, this is SUPER helpful, please do more! I'd like more exercises like this to help build consistency, maybe some with more variations in kick patterns. I'd also be interested in learning your personal preference on which cymbals or toms to use at certain points in a song for specific purposes (building/releasing tension).

Go to your local music store, buy "Syncopation", learn it front to back and then start over and do it with your feet. This guy is incredible but this exercise is way too one dimensional and seems like something he didn't spend a lot of time thinking about before posting the video.

    • @pietzsche
      @pietzsche Год назад

A really good tip for a beginner is to spend a good amount of time on patterns where you're not using one limb to keep time.
In a normal groove for example, your lead hand will be playing the hats on the beat or on the 8th note. This can end up making you depend on that to keep time, so it's harder to pick up anything where that's not happening, which is almost every fill or chop you'll ever play.
Linear patterns like the one in this video will help you internalise the beat regardless of what your limbs are actually doing, and although it's tricky to start with it's much easier than trying to relearn it later, when you've already grown dependent.

Beginner drummer here, would absolutely love if you could do a RUclips video on the real basics of drumming as I’m sure I’m not the only beginner drummer here. I’d love to know how to apply beats that I’ve learnt for example as well as what I should practice on, since I’m at the beginning and feel lost. This would definitely get more people to be interested in your patreon.

This sounds so cool, if you have the time, it would be amazing
so most people who watch your videos are newer to the set, but the level that is most important is breaking that barrier of just “knowing” beats, and being creative enough to make your own and to play for the absolute fun of it! I’ve played for 5 years so I’m not a complete noob to this, but not even close to your insane level.
    THANKS

Man i dont play the drums, dont have an inclination to ever learn to play the drums, and never have, but i do have a huge fascination seeing someone who has put in time and effort into their passion to the point they are a craftsman of what they do. An authority on their subject matter, even if that particular subject isn’t your personal passion, the principles that got the wizzard to his wizzardry, can be applied to other goals throughout ones life. It is a beautiful thing your doing here is all im saying, even for someone who doesnt play the drums. Your due diligence in your craft shows and is a lost art form in itself. Thank you.

The focus of clear shots with lots of practice (flams are good but only when you want them lol) is exactly how I love to learn. I don't have any constructive criticism because your videos are fantastic, If I could have a wish I'd ask to add that click to when your playing. It's not important and the way this video is I love it! I find hearing the click helps my brain absorb the pattern. In addition to lessons I’d love to see a video about how you record and mix your audio (mics, triggers, plugins, etc.) to make it sound so great!!!

Hey Estepario! Love your channel! Your dedication to your craft, your passion is admirable. Can you explain how you hold the sticks, they looks so loose yet you're in complete control of them even when doing a single stick drum roll!!!! Thank you for sharing your amazing skill with us.

Your passion is admirable. You are honest also, accepting the hard work you put in during your learning times. Many drummers give impressions that half an hour daily will make you a great drummer in a couple of years.

It’s inspiring to see what a crazy good drummer you are. I’m just starting out and honestly I just want to know some training methods I can do to get better. If you had any tips that’d be great, thanks!

i really love your drum sound! this is of course complicated, so some lessons id like are:
    Tuning
    recording, mixing and producing
Touch - by that i mean the things you do ing your playing that adds to your sound.
    Thank you, and great video!

I actually love things like this. For example, it would be awesome to learn various poly-rhythms, counting odd timing signatures, and counting timing changes during songs and practicing alone. All the basics are always good too.
