I love my 06 Rainier it has 200,000 miles and still run perfect but can't figure out why my shocks in the back are down, did any one know, i heard there famous for this. It logs like it's pulling a wheelie, not good
All of these GM SUV's were absolute junk! Even though I am a fan of Buick. My dad still has an 08 Mountaineer V8 and it's been bulletproof at 160k it's still going strong.
Thomas C Ive got 2 trailblazers one with 350k miles one with 180k miles never replaced or rebuilt a trans or engine they are rock solid have an Envoy with 150k also runs great nothing touched on it. They were great SUVs as long as maintenance was done correctly as is with every vehicle if only people would do maintenance when they are supposed to every vehicle would last longer than most people get out of them
these SUVs aren't so bad my dad has an i6 trailblazer with 220,000 miles no major mechanical issues. he biggest issue is that the speedometer does not work.
I have 2 Trailblazers right now an envoy and had a Rainier and looking for a 9-7x but the Trailblazers Envoy and Rainier have never had a trans put in them or rebuilt I change the fluid every 65k miles one of the Trailblazers is at 345k miles and it shifts a little rough but not to bad the second Trailblazer has 180k and shifts smooth as silk the Envoy has 130k shifts fine I never thought it was silky smooth from the day I bought it but it's just fine the Rainer always shifted smooth. All mine have had the 4.2 Vortec
@@thezeroto60outlet65 I had my car broke down 06 Rainier for 3 years because I couldn't get anybody to put a Plastic bushing on it And I just got a fix by my 17 year old grandson I showed him the video he went under there in boom I had put gas treatment in there in new gas still had the old gas in it but after jump started it it purs like a kitten it's got 200000 miles on it and it looks brand new inside I bought it 2nd hand 4 years ago and it had 200000 miles It basically has a little bit over that because it broke down right after I got it I didn't drive it that much I'm not long distance just short distance but I but I love it
The rainier is the worlds biggest lemon ever made. The front grill in plastic - when you slam the hood the plastic pickets fall out. Same thing with the rear bumper - if you barely tap something the hollow plastic cracks. Also the pneumatic air lift failed within the first year on our suv. This thing is so badly built is shameful for the buick label. We are so sorry we bought this POS,
Will my back rear air shocks are down what did you do how do you get it fixed it fixed I'm checking on relays I'm thinking maybe a relays down in it I've been looking at the book today but I also read about that last year for a few years ago and the guy said he jacked it up and put up and put those shock lifters and the manual shocks and just discuss disconnected air shocksWill my back rear air shocks are down what did you do how do you get it fixed it fixed I'm checking on relays I'm thinking maybe a relays down in it I've been looking at the book today but I also read about that last year for a few years ago and the guy said he jacked it up and put up and put those shock lifters and the manual shocks and just disconnect the air shocks Is that something I should do?
@@pamelahunter6116 We live in an extreme cold climate in winter and were so sick and tired of them going up and down due to temperature fluctuation (mostly down) so we had a mechanic replace the back shocks with regular ones more than 5 years ago and had no more problems since.
always loved these, I wish I would've bought one.
there are so many on the market that people are trying to unload. This is a problem you really don't want.
@@clink76 these baby Escalades always sell quickly
The 2006 Mercury Mountaineer is way more desirable than the Rainier. If I had to choose GM, I'd much rather have the GMC Envoy or Saab 9-7x.
Hakeem Sd70M I had a rainier and traded it in for a 2010 mountaineer. Mountaineer definitely better
Mountaineer (Explorer) are good... util you have to change timing chains and pay for it.

yup bin there and done that. We hardly had it a year and relatives sitting in the back said it was worse than a horse and buggy ride.
Air suspension. Replace with shocks.

If you enjoy buying transmissions, then rainier is for you. Mine is on its 3rd trans.
SPACE TRUCKER Even you did your absolute best to keep this vehicle from going under major repairs?

Mercury aint got shit on this
I like it
id have the mountaineer, only cause the rainier has a buick badge :/
+Jay Morseman Good thing there are many other GM variants! Envoy, TrailBlazer, Bravada, Ascender.
+TJC450 Another variant to the Buick Rainier, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender, Chevorlet Trailblazer and Oldsmobile Bravada is the Saab 9X-7.
What's wrong with Buick ? They make comfortable and quality cars
