How to do an Eye Splice, Crown Knot & Back Splice

  • This video will show you how to take a length of rope that is coming apart at both ends and turn it into a useful length of rope by doing a soft eye splice in one end, followed by a back splice at the other end.
    Inorder to do a back splice, you will be shown how to do a crown knot, which a back splice is based on.

    Awesome Jim, thanks! Just one thing though, because there are 3 strands equally spread apart (from center axis), then that would place them at 120° from each other - and not 45° like you keep stating.
    360° (a circle) divided equally in 3 is 120°.

    I wish you had used different color table cloth. White background and white rope make it hard for the eyes. Using three different color tapes at the end of the rope would help a lot to distinguish the ends. I had to watch several times to understand what you were doing.
