Taught myself guitar by wearing grooves into vinyl back in the 80’s and 90’s so I DO NOT understand a lot of what you’re saying but this is GREAT information! ALWAYS LEARNING 🙏
Much thanks for this dissection of Al's style. He's always been one of my favorite players. I think he was one in particular who straddled the line between the Reuss-Van Eps chord melody style and the Christian single-note horn approach. These fingerings facilitate his quick shifts from chords to single-note figures.
Tommy great lesson. You talk about these old guitarists , never heard of them , but your lessons are really interesting and the theory behind the chord voicings is great. Keep rockin on you tube.vin U.K.
Al Casey was a member of the elite "Wrecking Crew". Also on Elvis 68' comeback special , Al let Elvis use his Hagstrom Viking guitar while Al played guitar for Elvis on that iconic special.
Very cool, nice. You could call that five chord a D seven flat 13, flat 9 , that is if you want to (or flat 9,flat 13). Nice lesson. I've been using II minor seven flat five chords for decades but I never thought to use that voice, thanks, that'll come in handy.
@@bonusfat110 I'd love that. drop me a note in messenger. Also you can reach me through my website as well. Again you made my day. tommyharkenriderblues.podia.com/
Thank you for great job! I would like to see tabs or/and chord names below the video. Despite the fact that I hear most of the chords well, it’s not very convenient to read the frets on the screen.
Nice lesson....appreciate what you do. An on screen “tab” or fingering chart, for some of the chords would be helpful. It’s hard to see where your fingers are actually touching the strings.
