Even australians do not have friends themselves, so it is normal here. Its like myob.

International students are for those who do not have limited funds.

Sydney or nsw state is the best and safe.
If you are not job picky, you can survive here, filipinos are very friendly but not all especially those pinoy who owns a pinoy little shops, too hambog na. You can easily find friends by attending local communities meeting, and if you are a church goer attend church mass and you will find pinoys, just approach them with good intentions and they maybe able to help. You will Some pinoys may be hesitant maybe because they have bad experience with other pinoys you cannot blame them. But mostly anywhere abroad pinoys help each other, but if you have different political opinions like dds and marcos, maybe just maybe a different story.
You can always find some odd jobs for a start. I did some mailbox leaflet delivery for a month b4 landing a real job.
If the holy spirit is with you, you will make it here. God Bless,😀

Australia rent is sky high if you can even get a property to rent, forget buying all the good deala are sold to the mates of realtors, food prices sky high , medical costs high, lots crazy drunk drug addicts every where in Sydney, so if i was Philippines person i would get a job on a cruise ship and travel the world, save money and buy property in the Philippines, you will be much richer and safer than coming to Australia
