My cousin once told me that a friend of a friend who came here to Australia as a family on a 4 year working visa received a letter from Immigration that they have to leave upon expiry of their visa. They had to sell their possessions. Lesson to be learned: until you get your PR visa, do not assume that you will be living in Australia permanently.

@@PatsonTekAtleast 2 years before you apply for pr. Keep in mind you have unless your invited to apply your chances are close to zero. They use a point based system. Things like age, degree in Australia, etc will play a huge role
I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. As a FRENCH individual, here is my perspective; we humans look for what is good for us!!! I am French (I consider myself very lucky as France is a very stable and prosperous economy) but many French also look for better opportunities abroad, namely in Switzerland (higher salary and better work packages but that influx created a xenophobia against French living in Swiss) and the US (tech jobs mainly, which are better paid than in France)!!! We ALL do it!!! Many white South African women also do everything to marry British, Germans, Canadians on purpose (the media never mentions that and we know why) so that they can escape the extreme environment in South Africa!!!! It is just that the media tends to focus on black and brown people as it sells better!!! Eastern Europeans flock into Western Europe (yes we all know that!!!), take british jobs or German jobs!!! Ohhh and did you forget those many North Americans who flock to Mexico, and South America to run away from the horrendous cost of living!!!! Same for those many Canadians (a common trend those last years) who start to flock into the US to run away from higher living costs in Canada and for higher paid jobs in the US!!!! Okay may be some lesser developed countries do it but let’s realize that WE Europeans also move and emigrate when things turn “grill our ar**s” where we live!!!! Ohhh and have we forgotten already those Italians who moved to France in 1900s to escape misery and hunger in Italy!!!! Ohhh …. we already forgot!!!! And what about the Ukrainians, many of whom come to Canada now and take jobs and reap benefits from the local? Even if they are not yet citizen, they already started a family. They assume that immigration policy will never change. I am Zimbabwean. I am not going to waste money paying British and American universities to get a visa only to be told that "go back home."
An MBA from a public university costs about 600 US dollars a semester and the same MBA can get you into a DBA program anywhere in the world.
Secondly since you can't use your MBA you got from Australia you come back home to earn the same salary as someone who paid 600 dollars for his MBA.

Yes we may allow you sleepovers & long stays but when I want to give the bedroom or house for another family, we ask you politely to leave & even give you enough time to pack up & find another place to live. Agree, going back to your country of origin could be painful but it is where God started your life. Try to build your country by practising your skills there. Then look for another Western country where you can move to if the Western lifestyle is what you prefer. Even becoming a citizen so you prove to the adopted country that you are serious in living & dying as one of them. This then will protect you from ever being removed, unless of course if they have the law of cancelling citizenship because of terrorist activities. I've noticed that nearly 99% of Uber drivers seem to be from India. After looking into it, I found that many are on skilled visas (permanent residency) but struggle to find skilled jobs in Australia, ultimately resorting to driving for Uber. Indian education system is poor and is messed up and is a biggest scam with politicians involved init to make money corruptive way. But some of us are very smart, harwording and talented individuals who can do wonders if chances are given and some of this category also knows nothing can change this country and wants to find places to go live where caste is not considered, where dignity of labour is recognised. I know at least 7 different families who have made fake police cases in their country, came to Australia on tourist visas, and applied for religious, political asylum. They all joined health care, aged care facilities working as care providers. All have joined different associations and church groups so that they vouch for them if they are asked to leave the country. It is so annoying. People who come legally can not stay, and these people come with the motive to screw the system and are able to stay.

As an Australian citizen living in USA on a E3 visa I understand my visa is short term and that at some point it could be ended, either the job or the visa. This is the risk of being in another country. Always keep other options on the back burner. It’s always a risk that the visa laws will change or conditions that allowed the visa to be approved change due to health or some other event. The children in this family had a few good years in Australia as a taste. Hopefully the skills they have developed can be transferred back to their home country and they can apply as adults in a few years time.

There are many students here working on permits when they finished their studies. It is causing a lot of housing and job crisis for Canadians. Is it actually good for the citizens of the country or people who come on some business programs. Do they create jobs or just a path to residency. Government should check legitimacy of those on business programs, too.

yeah, i know the feeling, this is not really new, if another door closes, surely another door will open, i have a good friend, he was forcibly sent home because of visa issues. the challenge really is unacceptable, as if working abroad is the only solution.... he fight back, with the skills they learnt while working overseas help them bigtime doing business, monetary wise, they earn good money than me....
If somebody is already 45 years old but he could pass his skills to the next younger generation through organization or even individually to be consider for PR and the government should regulate new laws between the generations as a mediator.
