@@Dr.Breen17 lyrical ability, cadence and flow, his story telling, his double and triple entendres, rhyme schemes, clarity at high speeds, theres so much more, literally bring any one of those people from that list and he crushes them in each category. his catalogue has so much variety and so much skill throughout the years, not to mention the different styles. it is impossible to not put him top 3. if you don't put him top 3 you don't appreciate hip hop for the art that it is and the intricacies that go into it. sure you can have personal preference but if we're talking about a list of rappers that are the best to ever do it, he's top 3, anywhere below you're smoking crack cocaine.

@Southie or didn't listen to them! All the best rappers are underground artists. In terms of mainstream rappers played regularly on the radio in the 90s and early 2000s, Em is perhaps lyrically the best if not top 5 at least. But he's not touching many underground artists and semi popular rappers. If you haven't heard them you'll like them if you like Em and lyricism. I'd be glad to recommend some lyrical beasts

I'm not an expert on Eminem, but some songs of his that I personally see as essential listening are My Name Is, The Real Slim Shady, Cleaning Out My Closet, Lose Yourself, Stan, Not Afraid, and Godzilla. I know there's more, but these are just some of my favorites that immediately come to mind.

In addition to what you added, I'd also include Bully, Criminal, and even though it isn't a purely Eminem song, Forever.

Eminem's best verse is in "Best Friend" with Yelawolf or "Fall". He snaps in both of those. And also you can't forget Em and Royce "Caterpillar" or "FastLane". Another song forgotten about a lot is Em, Royce , and Bruno Mars "Lighthters."

Second verse of "stay wide awake" is a rhyming miracle... last verse of "bad guy", his part in "not alike", second verse of "till i collapse", and yhe whole songs of "soldier" "no apologies" "the sauce"... the list goes on and on lol

I am not American, English is my 3rd or 4th language, the clarity of Eminem when he raps that fast is very understandable and underrated compared to other rappers rapping as fats like Busta Rhymes
If you do “Stan” you have to do “Bad Guy” which is the continuation to Stan another fire song! “Forever” with Drake Yeezy Wayne and Em where he cooks all of them! “Phenomenal” is another one “Book of Rhymes” any feature Em is on you forget who’s song it was because Em makes it his own!
When there’s an “Eminem hater” on a video y’all have to ask what they are looking for. Em’s discography is so wide you can find any song to fit what he wants to hear. Bars, schemes, word play etc. y’all have to ask him and we’ll find the music to match

Drake was a teenage boy on a Canadian teen drama when Eminem was spitting out raps and leading the rap scene in the late 90's early 2000's. Eminem also had to fight against his skin color for being white, but he EARNED everyone's respect. No matter what color you were. They all laughed at him but, Dr. Dre knew he was special and backed him up. And the moment Eminem started rapping everyone went silent. They were stunned.

while i prefer his early high-energy, silly style to his more recent stuff, i have to recognize his new emphasis on wordplay has taken him to an unparalleled and untouchable level. it used to be his over-the-top delivery and multi-syllabic rhyme schemes now it's speed and arguably the best wordplay ever.
