They should just make the MKII instead of slapping the MKII decal on a MKI body. The #72 is correct since it raced in 1965 hence it being the MKI. IIRC it is Bob Bondurant's. God I hope Auto World release a Cobra Daytona casting soon.
@@JSD_A0070 it's like when Hot Wheels release those Fast & Furious cars. Most of them are not accurate at all. I kinda expect Auto World to be better than that. At least Greenlight tries to be more accurate. But we'll see.
Mijo means "son" in an endearing way in spanish. Like the way an old woman would call someone young. It sounds so funny to hear an english speaker say "mijo" xD
These can be bought and cleaned if you prefer the clean version. A bit polishing compound works good. This method work if you missed buying the clean version of the black and blue models.
Great video as always, thanks! Can’t wait to get these. Seems like a missed opportunity for them to make the third car the #5 Bucknum/Hutcherson 3rd place Le Mans finisher from the 1966 race rather than the “test car. “
Well, we've seen these GT40s before, in non "dirty" versions, but these new ones still look great. The light blue looks the most faithful to the 'Ford V Ferrari' movie, but the others look great as well, especially the blue one. Thanks for the loose presentation!
Kinda wish they'd went with the 1966 Mk1. I know everyone makes that version, but to see it with Auto World's accurate take would have been refreshing.
Doesn't Matchbox have the Ford GT Gulf. In a special set.? I forget what the set is called, maybe Globe Travelers. Come with a seperate box like those Auto World cars do also.
Hi, quick question, car # 72, left in your video, was this authentic car and if it was, in which race? I have it too, but I think that is not authentic paint scheme.
That upsets me that auto world or round two decided to do away with the storage box! WtH why? I use them to store the vehicles! I want them back!!!!!!!
Mattel and other companies sends them to him because he previews these cars for the company. Since he has such a huge following, he gets noticed by these companies more than other people. That's how it works. Advertisement basically.
1966 Le mans racers were MKII, this casting is actually a Ford Gt prototype prior to even the MKI

I was just thinking the same thing. It looks like they're trying to say "nobody will know the difference."

I'd buy a Daytona. I am going to buy all of these.
@@CLA82529 but the wheels and tires on the green lights is awful
Better yet, they should have made the better-looking Mk1 of 1966 and onward.
Mijo means "son" in an endearing way in spanish. Like the way an old woman would call someone young. It sounds so funny to hear an english speaker say "mijo" xD
like Kiddo
It was the MkII that was raced at the 1966 LeMans, not the MkI like these are. AutoWorld actually screed this one up.

Great video! Ford gt40 dark blue gulf #12 is my favorite, is awesome!
To the 14 people that disliked, You Have No Taste. This is pure American Muscle and Racing Culture at it's best. I want those dirty cars.
Great presentation, John. 🏁
💘 the way Auto World packages their 1/64s.... I have a few in my collection...

Cars I've never seen, cars I'll never have...
Sorry, wrong person. Ha ha!

Am I the only one who thinks Ford should do a heritage livery for Ken Miles.
granted :D

Wish they also release a CLEAN version.
Take my money!
Can you do the comparison for size between hot wheels, greenlight, and aw gt40s.
Want to see what true 1:64 looks like
and Matchbox Globe Travelers version also please :)
the chase for the dirty version is ultra red with red tires
I preordered them off of 1StopDiecast. $15.95 plus shipping should be worth it when it finally shows up
McLaren/Amon car looks epic. Also if you've only watched Ford v Ferrari you've not got an accurate version of events!
+1.. there's two leading books on the subject that he needs to read............But he's a self proclaimed "car nerd"...........
So the box below the car is back? I hope they stay for good.....
There is always the latest from Lamley 👍
I think the #72 car raced at either Daytona or Sebring with Bondurant behind the wheel. Have no idea if it won whichever race it participated in.
Sweetest set I've seen in awhile.
I love them all! And I say that having 18 Gt-40s of HW/Matchbox and AW!
That Ford GT 40 is GORGEOUS!!
Which one? :D
All of them!.. Especially the one in the Gulf colors...
Doesn't Matchbox have the Ford GT Gulf. In a special set.?

You are 100% correct haha
I had to go on a Chinese website to buy the Ken Miles one it is super rare
Great ending.
Dope as hell.
Good Luck trying to find them in WALMART. Great video, love the presentation.
These won't be available at any mass market retail outlet.
Great cars and video!!!
Sweet piece love them
Great cars . I just need one anyone nice presentation !!!
How much do they go for Retail??
Pretty nice timing will be everything to find rhese

Mladen Pavlenic Infact it was actually a test car back in 65 it was a MKI
Very nice sir, maybe I'll try to pick those up.
I might get 1 of these... Likely the one in Gulf colors...
Hey question, what's special about the ultra raw? The ultra reds are candy apple red right, are ultra raws like zamacs or smtg?
Yeah they're raw similar to Zamacs as them just being plain metal with no paint. They are extremely rare!
adding to the other comment...only 10 pieces are made in the Ultra RAW version, so super hard to find!
@@SURPLUSgoodies do u by chance happen to know how many ultra reds they do?
They are usually 3% of the run.
FYI I was told Surplus Goodies is not going to carry these. Of course, that can always change.
James Hollar they will
Thanks for update.
This is one of the few comments John "Loved".
They need to make a mk2/3(obviously this one never raced)/4. PS- the #1 and #2 ones were mk2 in real life
10:16 Ken Miles
Bruce McLaren 🗿
That upsets me that auto world or round two decided to do away with the storage box! WtH why? I use them to store the vehicles! I want them back!!!!!!!
I hope they stay. I love the boxes also
Inspired by the movie I see great film highly recommend. Showing a dirty gt40 is the car ken Miles died in while trying it out
Actually, he died in a Ford J Car. They made a mistake in the movie.
It was actually a Ford J
Ok
Woah, very nice intro...
How do you get them early please?
Mattel and other companies sends them to him because he previews these cars for the company. Since he has such a huge following, he gets noticed by these companies more than other people. That's how it works. Advertisement basically.
Woah, very nice.!
Me gustan están muy padres
Awesome!
Not a big fan of this casting but the black clean one looks cool
My fav😍
Very Good 👏
Woow! Is awesome.
Nice
You can almost smell the racing fuel....
it's weird because GT40 is the only one right steer wheel of these brand even Supra which is from Japan Manufacture not following with
who are you?
Mhm
El mejor :³
Lmao, your not a car nerd..... Your always slipping facts and history Mr. Lamley..................
I totally agree. Real cars is why i love diecast. Its a love for the automobile.
