    Basically everything you need to evaluate Ooma VoIP to replace your landline. Honestly, it blows away your traditional landline provider at only $5/month which is basically taxes. Check them out.
    UPDATE: I get "This number has been disconnected" when i try to dial my cell phone. I get around this by putting the country code "1" before dialing my number. A minor inconvenience vs other providers but who cares at this price.
    This also USES Your Home Internet connection so you WILL NEED Home internet. You could get their cell service but it costs more, idk how much. This WILL NOT WORK in a power outage UNLESS you plug this, your internet modem, and router into a battery backup called a UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) you can pick up at BestBuy or Amazon. But its NOT Like the old copper landline. If its mission critical reliability you want, get a Verizon Wireless mobile phone. More on that subject here in another video I made • Copper Landline Retire...

    How does it function when you have 2 numbers ported? Do the handsets ring when either number is called and can it have different ringtones for each number? If you pickup a handset to dial how does it know what number to dial out with?

  • @stephen2220
    @stephen2220 3 месяца назад

    How do I listen to voicemail on the Ooma box? The only way I can listen to voicemail is to pickup a handset then push play on the Ooma box, the speaker\volume up button on the box does nothing. Thanks

  • @viper31415

    How long did it take for your number to port over. The site says 2-3 weeks. I convinced my sister in law to get Ooma because her current provider won’t let her keep the same number she’s had for decades and she’s moving to another town. The port forwarding application has already started but she plans on moving before the 3 week mark.

    You seem pretty good at answering questions, thanks for that. I have a question. I just want to port my expensive att number to ooma.. Once the phone number is ported to Ooma, I intend on permanently forwarding the phone number to my cellphone. My concern are does your Ooma voip need to be turn on for the call forwarding to work? So if you were to lose your internet connection , I was hoping the Ooma would still forward the calls. . I appreciate your help. Thanks

    • @silveraspen6120
      @silveraspen6120 2 года назад

      Hello David, not sure if you've gotten the answer or not. (-a-) yes, Ooma has to be on, and if there is no internet connection, it won't work. (-b-) call forwarding is not included in the basic plan, you need to subscribe to the premier plan. Depending on where you are, the basic plan is about $5 per month, the premier plan is about $15 per month.

    • @bryansolis5549
      @bryansolis5549 2 года назад +1

      if you have a premier plan, you are eligible to have a call forwarding feature. even if the device is offline, you can still receive incoming calls to your cellphone

    We just switched from Comcast VOIP and I am about to switch back: vague and confusing rings on incoming calls, horrible delay in talking, static (! on a digital connection?), etc.

    • @AMPTechGrade
      @AMPTechGrade  2 года назад

      Could be a lot of issues. Comcast internet is definitely a horrible problem, their cable internet network is atrocious. Unless your upload speed is higher than 10mb, you’re better off with Comcast voip

    • @AMPTechGrade

      Nope. To get it to work when the power goes out, you need to hook it up to a battery backup unit called an “uninterrupted power supply (UPS” staples and bestbuy sell one. But you will also need to plug in your modem and router into the UPS.
