Love when creatives shout out other creatives. It builds my viewing pool for inspiration on how to do my own stuff.
Love your balance of speed vs quality. Players are floored by the smallest efforts - its all about feeding their imagination.
that concrete wall is wild, great work
I enjoy the modern/cyberpunk/future aesthetic. The grime and old posters really give an active city feeling.
Wyloch's likes to views ratio is awesome. 👏👏👏
Recently learned Games Workshop used to use masking tape on the edges of cardboard terrain and I wanted to past that on to you. It takes glue well, makes the edges more durable, and covers up the corrugation.
I've really enjoyed your neon sky rules tutorial videos, but this is definitely my bread and butter on the channel. Your comment in 3D printing reiterates what I really enjoy. The craftiness off all your approaches and techniques remind me of when I first got into the hobby and wasn't so jaded and weighed down by my own expectations and comparisons and how many options that are available now.
Sometimes I watch for tips, sometimes I just want to see you do your thing. It's relaxing :)
Google is such a priceless tool for artists. This was cool, and it's good to see some building again.
I love all Wylochs Armory videos!
That's a great alley. The wall, door, and trash bin look awesome.
Love the overall simple process needed to create a pretty engaging piece of terrain, definitely helps show how Neon Skies shines in terms of running encounters.
I agree with you very much Wyloch. Cardboard brings me so much joy as well
love smol world's stuff, especially when he does the pictures of the model in an environment and you can barely tell it's a miniature
I have them queued to dive in to during my upcoming week off.
Vito from The Sopranos making dope miniature stuff
Absolutely love your videos. I prefer to use foam but I'd watch you craft for hours.
😊 you inspire me to paint 🎨 many of my miniatures need painted as I'm lean on time but i also keep putting it off im giing to pain my red dragon this weekend! 😎
I love the acrylic bases on the minis!
I always dig a new Wyloch vid!
Neon Skies is going to blow up terrain wise. Because you don’t NEED terrain, it just helps will lend itself to tons of creativity.
Asmr Wyloch with crafting noises!
I get totally excited when a new Wyloch video shows up - thanks!!!
This scene looks so great! And very useful for "theater of the diorama" or perhaps "non-euclidean terrain" play!
Your channel is well recommended. Pretty much anywhere I go people mention you, dm Scotty, and Black Magic Craft. I've never done anything like this but you helped me realise it can be done so affordably. I've been cutting up cardboard for a few days and just trying to get some good shapes. Can't wait to gift these to people for shelf decorations and also use them in my own games.
Many years ago, I ran the gaming section (RPG, wargaming, miniatures, strategy games) of a mall game store. I remember when FASA first released Shadowrun. They sent out to selected stores a bunch of professionally-built 25mm terrain, really nice stuff, whole buildings with interiors and alleyways, including a cyber-doc's lab with tile walls and floor, liberally spattered with blood and some bloody footprints. That's what this puts me in mind of. =^[.]^=
Using a wire brush to score grooves into foam for concrete is really clever.
Sweet diorama, and a nice change of pace too. Neon Skies looks fun.
Cool to see how you made the diorama from the Kickstarter. :) I also like hearing where you go for tips and inspiration.
There's something very BG2 Athkatla random encounter over this alleyway, it just tickles all the right spots :D And now I wonder what cyberpunk BG2 would look like :)
I admire your ability to craft i cannot find a group where i live
I like how you made the concrete slabs like wood panels and just by painting and the overall structure the foam became concrete instead of wood.
I've been looking for a way to make concrete like that for ages thanks for sharing
Top stuff as always, welcome back Wyloch!
Looks awesome 😊
❤😊❤
Great tutorial sir!
Nice, quick and easy build with the ability to be used as almost anything you would need to represent in game. Looking forward to getting your game book in my hands. Thanks for sharing.
Super timely video that arrives just as I plan to build a backdrop for a display case.
Like this video? I love this video!
Great stuff as always!
This looks so nice and clean (layout) and dirty (aesthetic). Your work on Neon Skies is so inspiring.
And, I'm always so excited to see the poster pages I put together in your builds 😀 .
Thank you for all the amazing work you do, sir.
And thank you, we get tons of mileage out of those!!
Cool build. The pad on the door I would have used the Styrofoam you get with a piece of meat, it holds form perfectly and you can use a pen to make the buttons. I also started using water color paints to make washes and glazes for like rust and steaks
looks great! so simple but oh so effective!
Thanks for the informative and well explained tutorial 😃 A fun scene 🤩
I'm getting ready to start building some stuff that I can use for the Judge Dredd game as well as stuff like Stargrave. Watching this gave me some ideas. Thanks again man.
Love your videos 👍
Great build! All of the materials look great. Looking forward to getting my copy of Neon Skies!
Great video sir.
Great build!
"I always use hot glue whenever possible/whenever I can get away with it." You and me both XD It's just so much easier
Good stuff.
Shame that the YT algorithm does not play nicely because there is a lot of great content here. Perhaps convert segments from longer videos into some RUclips shorts? You have quite a bit of content that could easily recycle into some quick tip DIY shorts. Love the channel and I look forward to seeing the next video. :)
Great video! Thanks Wyloch, can’t wait to get my hands on Neon Skies!
I have only ever had issues with hot glue melting foam and failing to adhere, when I was trying to make a DM screen based on your Tutorial. Instead of cardboard I used foamboard. Same glue gun I used on all my other foam crafts and for some reason it only melted that foam. Im still using that same hot glue gun and hot glue stick brand on my new project and hasnt happened since. And yes... I did end up finishing the DM screen. Elmers Glue all and strips of fabric for the hinges.
As far as asphalt/road terrain goes, the best I've seen is from the armor modeller/diorama community. Night Shift has got a cool tutorial on how he uses cork and acrylic wood putty to make a super realistic asphalt road on his channel. It'd be fun to see you try that out as well, Bill!
keep it up ! awesome !
Great vid!
Love it! Great stuff and soluc callout to other creators.😊
Wonderful.
Hot Glue, ohhhh yeahhhh baby! 😉🤣
Love your stuff man. Cant wait to get my copy of the game!
Already subscribed, but I have hit the bell, in case that's something RUclips recognises. I guess a comment can't hurt either.
As ever, you're making really cool stuff out of inexpensive materials. I really enjoy your vids, and one day I'll start scratch building terrain!
(edited for spelling, apparently I can't type after 7.30 PM)
I love your channel! I run an online TTRPG for Fallout with my buddies, but only because nobody IRL wants to play with me :( I have the models and a little bit of terrain already, but I would love to see some post-apocolyptc terrain tutorials! I've just about watched every single one on RUclips.
Quick thought; you mention that some people say that hot glue is melting their foam. I've never had the glue hot enough to melt the foam either. I wonder if they are touching the hot metal nozzle of the gun to the foam; that would likely melt it.
For the algorithm gods!!!!
For the algorithm
For the Al Gore rhythm! 🎵
Thank you for another great video! \[T]/
Very informative video (as usual). Watching the section about painting and dry brushing concrete I noticed something. I have done dry brushing before, but I did used either a soft brush, like makeup brush from my wife, or a stiff brush for that job. What is your opinion or experience which works better? Or do you use a specific brush type, depending on the surface texture/structure?
Honestly I just used whatever junk brush was lying around. 😀
Does this signal that we are in for a new age of Cyberpunk Terrain?
I wouldn't call it a "new age," just more of the same stuff already out there. Just in my own way!
😁🤑 don't worry wyloch. I used Emojis. The algorithm will see us through.💰💸
You may want to create a separate channel for Neon Skies content. RUclips does seem to hate it when you create varied content for different audiences.
Great scene - that dumpster really is sweet.
I know you're a cardboard guy, but why not just use one thicker piece of foam for that back wall?
@@manjr fragile. And too lightweight.
Will this be the precursor to a cityscape or city block build?
Already did that a couple years ago
Hey. Wanted to give you some feedback. I have been watching all of your videos for a long time and then several weeks back it stopped letting me know about them even tough I am subscribed with bell marked. I think you are right about their algorithms. Something is up. Honestly feels like they are cheating and I don't know why.
Other creators report the same phenomena. It's pretty demoralizing.
I tried to back neon skies but I was too late 😢😢😢 will the PDF be available to buy after the Kickstarter goes out??
@@mangothedestroyer the book will go on sale early next year after fulfillment is complete
@@WylochsArmory woo! Thanks 🙏🙏🙏 can't wait to get my hands on this. I like how much you cared about flow and how probability actually works.
For the algorithm
