I think the fact that Reze is hybrid like Denji made her to be able to bond more than any other character. I mean we know Devils rarely bond with hybrids/humans as they view them as inferior and can barely notice them, if not, just by the smell of it. And Fiends have an inherit hate towards humans and hybrids. This leaves only other hybrids to be able to see Denji, as a person, just like Reze did. She bonded with Denji, not with Chaisaw Man.

this is so so late but reze is fujimotos favorite character. the manga part 2 is releasing in the next few months by early summer and the anime in fall :) there’s probably a good chance we’ll see lady reze again

But if she comes back it will be something like Nayuta, basically as a new person and that would make the inevitable hell every Fujimoto character goes through feel even worse since she woul most likely be shown to live the kind of life she wanted before. It's similar to what I think of Power, I would love to have the blood devil back and befriend Denji again, but deep down I'm not ready for the suffering.

someone might've pointed this out already, but i love the parallelism between the russian lullaby and the date denji has with asa in part two of chainsaw man. in the bomb arc, it kind of gives an insight on how the date and romanticism reze crafted for denji was, at least initially, all make believe. 'today's my date with jane, everything is ready'. but then, there's the mention of the penguins, a direct parallel on what denji seems most excited about on his aquarium date with asa ('the penguins jane loves so much'). a date which, ultimately, was also make believe and EXTREMELY planned out down to every last activity by asa who, again, just wanted to use denji the same way reze had-- in this case to turn him into a weapon. all means to an end which, in the end, came apart as she grew fond of him as well. this might be why the lullaby was not inherently a reference to anything pre-existing, but a song purposefully crafted to reflect denji's future love life. i just find it interesting having denji in the role of 'jane', have the perfect romantic experience crafted out for him, yet so far all of them being nothing but waltzes to get what his partner wants. it goes well into both the themes latched, not only onto denji, but also reze and asa-- the need for legitimate human connection only to be somehow used by a greater evil agaist their will, unable to get it.
I get that the scene of Reze teaching Denji how to swim is in reference to the music video, but what if it was also something of teaching Denji how to be self-sustaining? Characters teaching other characters skills that'll help them in life remind me of that "teach a man to fish ad you'll feed him for a lifetime" saying and I wonder if there was something similar happening here. Of course it might not have been a literal skill of teaching him to swim, maybe it was symbolic of him teaching him how someone who actually loves you will help you with things that will help you throughout your life regardless of whatever changes may happen--Makima never taught him how to cook. She never taught him how to be self-sustaining should anything happen where he could not be a good enough dog for her anymore or lose his status as chainsaw man. We all know why, but this comparison might have been yet another hint at her true intentions. I'm sure I'm thinking way too deeply into it but I still wanted to note it.
This arc was insane. Despite her only being there for 13 chapters, Reze is one of my favorite characters. Wish her and Denji could have ran away and lived happily ever after.

I read somewhere that in an interview Fujimoto said that “Reze” is short for “Ciskareze”, which is a georgian surname; thus explaining all the info pieces. Though I havent seen this interview myself, so take heed.
Holy shit, I am shocked. Very recently I finished CSM and loved it, I remember having random thoughts that once the anime comes out Meti would make a video about it and their characters, I am glad I was right and not only that but coming before that! I really like this video but i have one criticism of it, Makima never showed genuine affection towards Denji. Makima was never interested in Denji at all. She is the antithesis to Reze. Reze loves Denji for being Denji, while Makima loves Denji for being Chainsawman. Makima wanted the chainsaw devil, and that's why she showed affection towards denji.

I read somewhere that in an interview Fujimoto said that “Reze” is short for “Ciskareze”, which is a georgian surname; thus explaining all the info pieces. Though I havent seen this interview myself, so take heed.

Holy shit, I am shocked. Very recently I finished CSM and loved it, I remember having random thoughts that once the anime comes out Meti would make a video about it and their characters, I am glad I was right and not only that but coming before that!
God, I hope the anime delivers, I never have been attached to a series like I have with CSM for a while.

I really like this video but i have one criticism of it, Makima never showed genuine affection towards Denji.
Makima was never interested in Denji at all. She is the antithesis to Reze.
Reze loves Denji for being Denji, while Makima loves Denji for being Chainsawman.
Makima wanted the chainsaw devil, and that's why she showed affection towards denji.
Meti is the best, i have been watching him since forever and to this day he keeps getting better, thanks for everything Meti ❤️
