The waves and bird chirping gotta go. I’d rather you talk and explain what you’re doing.
The tyre fitter needs to cut off the tie cord's on his hoodie 🤦 bike's looking mint and ready for summer 🌞👍
Hooray! - now it just needs some gentle exercise, a little chip-shop run - Bridge of Allan, near Stirling is recommended!
Failing that, swing over to Oban or even Whitby, & watch your fish-supper flapping it's last in the batter trays of doom.
Either way, both of you, 'get-down-on-it' & put thy knees in the breeze - the summer of 2073 will be over all too soon! : )xx
Sounds like fun mate, and fish & chips in Whitby, the world's best! Have a great weekend, keep safe, D&Px
I can only echo what the other folk have been saying- what a beauty! No offense to the younger crowd, but angry insect squashed trapezoidal headlights and pointy plastic shrouds just scream trendy fashion-victim and gimmickry, compared to something like this with truly timeless and classy looks.
Thank you most kindly for your generous words of praise Sir... have to agree, the transformer headlights are a little ultra modern for this ol' bloke and fashion fades, but style remains. Glad you enjoyed this series, it's been fun!
Had a ride round Brands Hatch on Mutant tyres , in the rain ... Was very impressed .👍👍
Thank you, Thats valuable feedback there mate.. they're a 'M&S' tyre, so focused on the bad weather.. ive had the Hayabusa on the ragged edge a few times with no twitches on these..!
That was a joy to watch. Got my XJR in pieces at the moment for tyres, brake pads, chain & sprockets, swingarm grease, oil and filters. As a newish rider these videos have been a great help and inspiration when it comes to diy spannering. Cheers.
Have fun!
Hi Penny and Del - another great video. That's a refresh really well done and nicely wrapped up and it was a real pleasure to follow along as you did the work. Thanks once again for your all-around excellent video production. Take care, be well, ride safe!
Very glad to hear you've enjoyed this short series, it's been a fun project and we really appreciate all your kind words and support. Have a great weekend there, and ride safe, all the very best from us both, D&Px
I’ve just bought this bike from Triumph Dorset & I love it 😊🏍️
Cograulations Lucinda! Wishing you many safe miles of joy in the sunshine!
Overall, I like what you’ve done with it. Only thing I would have done different. Add a floater front rotor. I have an 06 and the floater and a set of EBC HH pads made huge difference in stopping power. Left side rotor from a Honda F3 is a perfect match btw. Mine is a EBC for said F3.
Did you fit the CBR caliper too?, i believe it's a straight swap also! and yes indeed makes a great upgrade !
@@Moonfleet41 no, used the stock caliper. Did add a SS brake line.
Great looking scooter! Now all Penny needs is some glorious sunshine to show its head and get her knees in the breeze in STYLE!
You said that right Sir, thank you for your kind words.
Nice job Del. Penny your bike is looking very cool, Mr & Mrs Scrambler LOL. Hope all is well for you both and not too wet and cold over there, 32C here today. Have a great and relaxing weekend, take care. Cheers .
Wow, very nice, we can only dream of temperatures like that, it's not even that warm inside the house! But hey, the Spring is round the corner and there's no salt on the roads at the moment... just lots of flooding lol Enjoy that sunshine!
Thought I saw that bike a few times I'm thinking different bikes for client's Then I saw the Chain Guard Same Bike...Boy am I Slow in My Old Age!
Sure thing Richard, had this from new, it has been through a couple of evolutions over the years!
When you had the first wheel on your balancing machine every time you let go you looked like you were doing a crocodile impression 😂 Made me smile 😁
Another great video brother!!! bike looking awesome! the balancing process was so relaxing!!! stay safe guys cheers from new york !!!!🎉🎉🎉
Hey Renzo, Good to hear from you, thank you for your kind words of support as always brother.. Take care and keep safe both of you.. D&Pxx
Love the looks of those tires !! Tubes?? Been a while I changed those!! Now gotta work on my 1986 Honda shadow 700.. needs new tires.. just got new manual tire changer from Poland. Anxious to use it. Have super weekend!!
Enjoy your weekend too buddy, thanks for your kind words.
If i'm not mistaken (from experience and recognizing the tread design), almost anything will be an upgrade from those Continentals. Had them at the recommendation of a mechanic 4 years ago. Wasn't a fan in the least. I think the new ones will be much preferred.
Yeah sure, the Mutants have been fabulous on the Hayabusa, totally sure footed in any weather and great looking tread which on a bike with a little style is always an asset!
Job done. Glorious bike. Hope the season starts soon. Have a great weekend, Günter/Nürnberg
Thank you for your kind words, have a great weekend too... ride safe!
Nice job. I should get around to replacing the sprag clutch on my Scrambler and start riding it again.
Was that 'anglo bubbly gum' for marking the tyre? 😁👍
Excellent work as usual Del. I am sure it has been asked many times but do you use the same multi purpose grease for your fork shaft/axle and do you lubricate your wheel bearings as well? Thanks for everything you have made owning and maintaining scramblers and your other bikes simple and easy to DIY!!!
Hi mate, yes for general purpose just use an ordinary LM grease, it does the job and I change it often enough to never need anything more special or specific. Glad you enjoy the videos, thank you for your kind words.
Glad to see you back and working on triumph motorcycles.
Nice to see the rear wheel balanced with disc and sprocket in place Del. Loads of folk forget the sprocket and or discs when balancing wheels.😎👍
Great to see, better letting them doing it without scratches, I know you always balance your own wheels, keeps the cost down, could you have gone down the tubeless option or not. Great video
Glad you enjoyed the project mate, have a great weekend both!
@@Moonfleet41 Always enjoy your content, you two too, hope your feeling well these days.
Better than new! Awesome machine, great work. 👌
Great job, now Penny’s ready to roll. I bet you can’t wait 😀
Sure thing mate, soon be Spring!
After removing my wheels, before taking to my tyre service depot, I always remove the brake disc's, wheel falls over, out of true disc, so easy, can happen with anyone, I remove the sprocket and cush drive as well.
Are you aware that disc bolts are technically single use... so are you replacing a full set of disc bolts every time?... if not, perhaps something to consider...
@@Moonfleet41 I never knew that, had my disc's off loads of times, use same studs, I clean both male and female thread with tap & die's, lock tight every time as well, next time they come out I will get a set, she must be about due some.
Hi Del. Those wheels and tyres look amazing! Noticed on your last shot of the bike you had a bit of wood to prop it up. My scrambler is the exact same, seems to lean over a lot. Would be nice to see you fabricate something to correct this and I could copy 👍
Great Video great job bike looks great Del 💯👏👌👍
Thanks Chris 👍, appreciate your kind words mate!
Looking wonderful Del but have you thought about getting a bonneville SE front mudguard mount/brace so the guard could then sit closer to the wheel?
Scrambler has different forks mate, and different yokes also, SE fork legs are wider apart so it simply wouldn't fit... already measured it up.
Looks great, I just put the same seat on my T100 but in dark brown
Beautiful seats Alan, how are you finding it! Thanks for your kind words too.
Just want to say how much I appreciate your channel, You explain everything in such great detail. Your channel inspired me to start my own channel, We are on different ends , Yours is about repair rebuild and mine is about motovlogging and Moto chat, Again I appreciate your channel.
Thankyou mostly kindly Sir, we're so glad you enjoy what we do, and we appreciate your very kind feedback. We both wish you the very best of luck with your Channel, enjoy the journey... ride safe and keep well, all the very best from us both!
Hi Del
Which tyres did you use? I’m looking at the Pirelli scorpion STR cheers Mick
As the bike never goes off road, went with Dunlop Mutants mate!
I notice that the gross rearmost heat shield is now gone, but we didn't get to see the makeover for the new heat shields.
Hello Peter, are you thinking of the 1200 mate? This is a different bike.
@@Moonfleet41 Doh - you are quite correct.
what size tyres and were they original rims…..great work by the way 🎉
They're 120 and 180, sportsbike tyres, 5" wide rim rear and 3.5" front, 17's!
Maybe the reason he's balancing them is to show how you can do it yourself. You shouldn't be so critical of what others do worry about yourself. Delboy always have loved your vidoes been watching for years keep doing what you're doing
Thank you Jose, you're right, you can static balance wheels yourself, take your time and get it right, it's accurate and reliable. Thank you so for long time loyal support.
Where was that bash guard from in trying to
Find one for mine looks so clean
Just like you i couldn't find one i liked...so I fabricated it myself from raw materials mate..!
She's a beaut Del my man! A credit to you.
Thank you kindly Sir, all driven by Penny's choices, I just swing the spanners!
I really do like the mutants - very capable tyres with a fantastic look!
Totally agree mate, we've tried and tested these on the Hayabusa, so a confident choice!
Could not agree more. I'm on my second set on an MT-09 Tracer. Hard wearing but stick to the road like shit to a blanket! 😎
I hope the sun comes out sometime this year for us all! You can both have a scrambler day. I'm still undecided, as always, but there'll be 2 wheels again soon in whatever guise grabs me.
Have a lovely weekend. Its great to have to wait till after work to watch the video! Something to put a nice full stop on a privileged week!
Peace love and hugs to you both ✌️ ❤️
Great to hear stories of you back on the gravy train brother, but don't work too hard, we don't want a 'Springy burnout'! Have a great weekend mate, put your feet up and keep shopping!! D&Pxx
What a result - stunning Del 🎉
Many thanks Alex!
This Triumph is stunning! 👌👌
Delboy, I saw you wipe off those wheels and tires and it reminds me to ask you a question. I have HD lower fairings. and there is a rubberized surface on the door area of the hard lowers. And it has a whitish residue. Any tips on how to make it just normal rubber color? These are directly from HD and less than 6 months old.,
Hi buddy, the best thing to dress rubber is silicone, you can buy the nice smelling dashboard shine type spray silicone, or even products like GT85, they will leave the rubber with a deep rich shiney appearance and the coating will help the rain water to just roll off, so preserving as well!
Always good to watch a real pro do basic jobs. No matter how many times you've done it already there is always something new to learn. Thank you Del for doing the wrenching and thank you Penny for the great views. You two are an amazing team ! I wonder how many people will be asking Penny where she got her new bike when the new riding season starts. 🙂 Blessings and good health to you both. ❤👍👍
Thank you Rick for such kind words of encouragement, it was great to get all the jobs done and not have the bike ready for the season... Take care and have a wonderful weekend mate.. D&Pxx
Was dynamically balancing at option at the tyre fitters instead of static balancing, is one better than the other ?
No and No
Another job done in great detail nice one Del
Glad you liked it mate, thanks for joining us on the journey!
Hello, did you do the tubeless conversion?
Not on this bike, but perhaps in the future.
Not a lot of space to get the front caliper off!
Hello, I watch a lot of your videos and I learn a lot about the maintenance of my motorcycle I want to ask Up to what size of wide tires can I use without modifying my Triumph scrambler 2008 efi
hi there, thank you for your support.. You must use only the correct size tyres on the factory wheel rims, no wider... BUT, if you fit a 5" wide back wheel rim, then you could fit up to a 180x17 tyre, and a 120x17 tyre on the front, but it MUST be fitted onto a 3.5 inch front wheel rim.! NOT on the factory wheel..! I hope that helps.
Great looking bike Del👌👌
Thanks Gerry 👍
Looking mint mate. You going to do a first ride vid?
When the weather breaks, why not could be fun, seems to be monsoon season at the moment!
Hat tyre are they sorry
What tyres ?
As with all the best upgrades, that's how it should come out of the factory. Superb job Del , absolutely love it!
Many thanks Robin, gad you enjoyed and thanks for your kind words!
Nice job, is that Penny's bike???
Yes mate, had it from new!
@@Moonfleet41 Yes remember it now I know you have changed it before so was not sure Great job
You are a genius mechanic .you knows engine body and frame repair, electric wiring and wheels and suspension.
Absolutely brilliant make over Del, a bike to be proud to be seen on 👍
Absolutely mate, roll on the better weather! Thanks for your kind words.
You Sir are one of the people I'd definitely trust with working on my motorcycles!
What exhaust is that you installed?
It's one of these Jeff :- www.tecbikeparts.com/product/tec-2-1-high-level-stainless-desert-exhaust-system/
What a super outcome on this makeover, Del! She sure looks pretty. Hope you enjoy riding her whenever the weather improves there. BTW, I just finished gluing some balancing weights to my MIL’s left side. She walks a lot straighter now. 🏍👍🏍
Glue? That's novel, I feel that the Hilti gun with a few barb rivets does a more permanent job as glue can slip when they get sweaty!!
@@Moonfleet41 i should have thought of that. Live and learn. 😬
What a beauty! Better than I could have imagined. Enjoyed every minute of the thought process and upgrades. Here's hoping that "P" has many enjoyable rides and I am sure she will be turning quiet a few heads along the way. Great job folks, all the very best. Looking forward to getting back to the Harley again. Cheers.
Thank you so much Shaun, We're glad you approve and that you anjoyed the journey.. spring is round the corner and soon it'll be time for some sunshine rides.. when you've owned a bike for many years ht become a part of the family. Take care and have a great weekend.. and thank you for your support. D&Pxx
beautiful work
Thank you very much!
Great job Del if only I had done this when I brought my bike and then I wouldn't have had the disembarkation.
Would have been nice to see you apply that sealant to the inside of the rims to seal the spoke nipples' as you did with a previous build.
All the very best Del and Penny!
Fantastic finished job Del. Looks even better than the day it left the factory.
Love it 😊😎
Thank you Derek 👍, we appreciate your kind feedback!
Lovely outcome Del
This was a really nice little series
Quick question
What's happening with the Busa?
Nick Australia
Ni Nick, Just parked the Busa for a moment, lots of other stuff on, and once im straight ill get back to it.. next thing will be a more traditional fighter tail, something svelte and tiny to make it more aggressive.. Nothing to change on the riding style though, it's bonkers enough as it is..lol!
I am inspired by your meticulous work!
Looks really good, nice makeover 👍
Thank you! 😊
Stunning
Thank you! 😊
Triumph , after seeing this, should now come out with a Del Boys Special Edition. Looks lovely mate.😎👍
That would be cool, thank you!
Really enjoyed this series of the scrambler 👌
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it, it's a great bike.
The finished result looks really good Del. Bet Penny can't wait to take it for a spin 👍
Thansk Richard, she's very pleased with the results, looking forward to some nicer weather!
@@Moonfleet41 👍
