@@thefancydoge8668Same, and I don’t know any other wii wheel mains who actually use the accessory. It’s just bulky, I really enjoy using the motion controls because of how different it is to other mario karts but it works best without the extra plastic.
Am I the only idiot who actually enjoyed the Wii Wheel!? Like either I had a massive skill issue or I just got used to the layout so easily Like the fact of using the wheel itself to turn and steer makes it immersive with the game. Steering, Tricking and taking advantage of new inputs... Idk I really loved using the Wii Wheel. Although I used a custom design
I love the Wii Wheel, it's a great spin on the motion controls, and far better than the uncomfortable Wii Remote solo. However, 80% of the time I use the Nunchuk.
The Wii CC and CCP are mostly the same, except CC has analog triggers while CCP has digital triggers. So, I prefer CC instead. Fun, relaxing video that was.
I believe that the only official thing in existence that uses the CC's analog triggers is Radiant Dawn, hilariously enough. It uses L... for fading of HUD elements.
I wish I watched this before buying a classic controller last week without realising that the claw grip makes my Wiimote experience a better option anyway
Want to point out because I didn't see it elsewhere or in the video. All the claw methods in this video are left claws; however, it's possible to right-claw a GCN so your R thumb is on the D-pad, which increases tricking accuracy. Accel is with the right pointer curled similarly to the left claw pointer on Classic (Pro). Rearview is with your distal pointer knuckle on Y or Z, although with Z you have to switch your middle finger off drift or use your ring finger to drift The advantage of this position is being able to use a static position to hit all the necessary buttons, so no using 1 finger for multiple buttons. You also avoid the weird sideways movement that left claw CCP has when trying to wheelie, which is fairly stressful on the hand in practice (although you can train yourself to press more lightly The disadvantage is you need fairly large or flexible hands due to the size of the GCN, probably larger than 3/4 of players considering many mariokart players compared to some other games are not adult males
I remember when I was a kid when & first played MKWii. And even at a young age I actually remember not even using the wheel the game comes with & throwing it out
recently started playing MKW again and i've been using the GCN controller, the only thing i can say that wasn't mentioned in the video is the massive physical analog range on the triggers - personally been very tricky to get used to FULLY letting go of the buttons so i'm holding drifts longer than desired occassionally. Not a game ender for sure but it's something that takes a little adjusting to (especially after playing so much damn 8dx where the triggers on the switch are digital)
When I started using the gamecube controller I just used the b button for drifting since it's more responsive. If you prefer the triggers you can also put plugs inside of them to reduce the analog travel, which is also good for other games like smash
Didn't see it mentioned in the video but maybe I missed it, but other than the greater angles the wheel can access. There's another controller with objective advantages , the wiichuk has the wheelie buffer, i.e., you have 3 frames for a perfect wheelie chain with it, whereas all other controllers have only 1 frame (except maybe the wheel-unsure on that one but it might have the buffer too since it's a motion wheelie like the nunchuk)
I was aware of that information while I was making the script and included it in the original version of the video, but I couldn't find anything confirming it, so I decided to remove it in case the 3 frame window is not accurate or is just a rumor. If you have any sources on it, I could mention it in the description
I dare say Nunchuck is really convenient in this game if not for the fact that I often end up getting contact issues over time... Maybe I never held it right...? 🤔 Either say it's still very comfy and reduces the chances of missing wheelies and tricks
I used to use a GameCube controller for MKWii, but my Wii disc drive broke so I can no longer use it, as the Wii U unfortunately doesn’t have a GameCube port.
i use gamecube but i have big hands + long fingers so i can just stretch my right index across and use the dpad while holding the control stick normally it was awkward at first but i dont even notice it now
Pro tip: if your wii is from the second gen, get a new wii asap tryst me whit time you will only want acess to the gamecube controler more and more, my friend went trough that
I PERSONALLY use Dolph-an actual wii heheh... (Nintendo please don't sue me) with a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller mapped to a virtualized Classic Controller (or if you will the 🇨🇳... Oh wait not that CCP the controller)!
@@Gammxa You probably know this by now but you actually can! press the left or right button on the d pad when your wiimote is sideways and you can hold items behind you!
If I could go back and change anything about this video it would definitely be my vocal delivery. I used to have really bad speaking issues, but it's gotten better over time
It’s worth mentioning that not all Wii’s have GameCube support as the second generation got rid of it completely for some reason.
The Family Edition did so, because GC games did not have parental controls.
Nintendo wanted to make the Family Editions cheaper to make.
Also the gamecube backwards compatibility was the target of a major exploit.
Nope, it's just to save them money, because they could have kept the controller ports and removed the disc compatibility and the memory card slots.
it was to cut down the price
The wii wheel is the best controller but we all just suck too much to use it to its full potential
The wheel is misleading for me, which is why i hate MKWii.
I never use the wheel, I just hold the wii remote itself sideways.
@@thefancydoge8668 that's better, I agree

Wow, i’m actually working on something similar to this, but I overlooked the bongos completely. I thought they were just a myth... until now

Here's a controller even wackier than the bongos: the Babysitting Mama shell.

Wii remote and Nunchuck is me because it’s too comfy and easy for tricks and wheelie for me (If I feel like using a bike).
The Nunchuk was my favorite
I just 3 starred everything using only forks and spoons. not bragging or anything.
KD… Konkey Dong
The Jing of the Kungle

the nunchuk is the best imo as you don't have to claw grip, tricks are consistant,...
For the wii wheel, it was more optimal if using the original Wiimote. Using a third party was wacky and buggy as heck...
I'm sorry, but the best controller is actually the Wii Cyber Bike

Do you have ctgp? if so you can actually get a USB gcn adapter and use it to plug gcn controllers into your wii u.
I play Mario Kart Wii on the Gizmondo Console so I have to use the buttons on the console
Optimal strategy
because of the wii I still shake my controller in mk8 to trick despite me using stick input

The GameCube controller is the best controller to use. I even use it in Mario Kart 8.
