when you didn't own the ski's they were "out there" when you owned them, they became very limited , just busting chops, love the videos, keep up the good work!
A mans gota do what mans gotta do to make a living. Pawn shops have always been 50% retail value but now they are at resale value. I get it? Overhead, cost of living. It just shows how much worse off we we are now financially than we were in 20 years ago. The dollar vale is going down and wages don't go up well for the average worker. thank goodness I have skilled trade!!! and some brains.
No pal your bang on he's a rip off and it's one of his favourite things to do 😂
Update on KISS belt buckles?? 🔮👍🏼💵
Pete, love your videos I’m sorry about your friend my he rest in peace. Also I love the Greatful Dead. Thanks
How minny times can I enter to win the back stage pass from the grateful Dead.... and I love your back.
grateful dead love the videos u kick azz as usual keep up the great work
Great video as always, Grateful Dead
Grateful Dead! The Birdsong poop on the Darkstar skis is classic. I will give $200 for the Birdsong endorsed skis and the pass. $750 if you add the Dragon to play my old Dead cassettes. 😊
Never got to see the Grateful Dead but their music has gotten me through a lot. Would love to win the pass. would be a cool keepsake.
the cat had me dying ahahahaa
Love the Grateful Dead !
I'd like the Grateful Dead pass.
I found a Dragon & another Nachamichi deck (ZV1?) at a thrift store TAPED together with packing tape, BOTH for $35. I quickly sold the "other" deck for $100. I held onto the Dragon for almost a year before selling it for $950... now everytime I hear the name Nachamichi or the Dragon my stomach turns. I wish I never sold it, it was such a great deck... but this is what we do, we flip things.
I hope that comes back Pete, if so and you want to make it like new, I know of someone who specializes in refurbing them
Thanks for sharing.
Cool finds.. 👍
Nakamichi 😉
Many manufacturers used that deck to calibrate their production test equipment for their own decks.
Looks like Honey remembered you forgetting to feed her one day last week, when she lit your arm up LOL!
The Grateful Dead head was my 1st tattoo. Wish I hadn't got it now at 40, but cherish the memories. Lol. My 1st name is also Pete, love your content. My condolences for your collective loss! My thoughts and prayers are with u all.
I think the kitty was a little confused lol, she thought you were still playing, you could tell she felt bad after you said ouch lol
Awesome buys today Pete..😍😮 Love those ski's they're super cool..😉 Would love to win"Grateful Dead" backstage pass..🤔 Take care guys..👍💕🔥🤘
My wife currently has the slightly cheaper high end tape deck. Pioneer CT-F1250. It turned up at a flea market and the guy is a well known flipper and storage locker buyer. He asked $650 and she noted that the one take up reel wasn't spinning. (mush belts) He dropped it down to $450. I put about $50 bucks in belt kits and parts and it works fine.
Wish I could have snagged it cheaper- We picked up a fantastic Reel to Reel Pioneer for $40 from a local record store that wanted the space. Put about $300 into it for the repair shop. (I can fix tape players, reel to reel players we 'outsourced' RT-707. It's in excellent shape now and is worth about $800+
It's a specialty market to be sure.
Pete the Shackle on the Nylon Strap alone is worth 20 Bucks bet price them! Weight Max must be on shackle OSHA approved!
FYI...
In the 90's a Nakamichi stereo was roughly a $2,500 upgrade option from the standard Pioneer stereo on some of the Lexus's (Toyota).
Back in the day, a Nakamichi deck (for cars) cost the same as any other top tier brand. Alpine, Nakamichi, Denon and a couple others I can't recall all had comparable prices and capabilities. TOTL would cost you around $600 iir, just for the head unit. The home decks were all definitely priced higher and for good reason.
@@mmmbbqWhen it came to car stereos i wasn't picky most pioneer head units were just as good as the alpine ones if the wattage was the same, but when it came to speakers i always went with the germans and Polk Audio and boy they never disappointed worth every penny! same with subs, didn't really care who made the speaker if the magnet was big enough, it really came down to the amp you went with. that's my opinion at least from what i learned over the years... and stay away from fiber optic wiring for speakers my benz had them and i rewired the whole damn(and added a backup camera they wanted way too much) thing just to make life easier i aint playing around with that shit lol...
@@origintrackz5235no one asked pal
@@mendaciousreality8459 I'm not your pal, buddy!
@@origintrackz5235 I’m not your buddy, friend!
I'm a pretty avid cassette collector but all in all decks along with the tapes are finicky as hell. If you have $1k+ to spend buy a turntable instead.
Craigslist Hunters Rock! My husband and I look forward to your videos weekly! Just watching has helped us learn to say no thankyou! Would love the Grateful Dead PASS. HUGE FANS of you and them! ❤❤
You do know that the last real grateful dead show was in July 1995. I was there. Jerry died a month later.
Thanks as always for the videos! I started my own channel and would love your advice! Thanks!
Greatful Dead sucks
Pete, my wife, and I always look forward to seeing your content. I have learned a lot. I would love to win the Grateful Dead Pass. Keep up the good work.
From 7:15 thru 9:20, the guy spends two full minutes to count-out a total of EIGHT 'one dollar bills' from his wallet.... as if they're hundreds..... and he's having a really hard time giving them up.
I know, right?!?!? Pry those ones outta his hands 🤣
No I think he's busy talking
Great video as always, Grateful Dead is a pretty sweet score!
Always love your videos Pete. Interested in that Grateful Dead pass too - very cool!
Love all the videos. Would like to be entered in the grateful dead giveaway . Thanks and keep up the amazing content.
😂Honey was acting like my calico, she does the same thing when i pet her side . I would like that Grateful Dead pass.❤
Those Grateful Dead skis were awesome, and would like to be entered in the drawing for the backstage pass. Although the last Grateful Dead show was was July 1995 right before Jerry Garcia passed away. So the 1996 reference must be something else.
Grateful Dead, thats what I said
But remember the bigest TANBERG Cassette player is better in sound and technology ;)
I buy, restore, and sell only pro and commercial grade audio equipment, you made the right choice. The Nakamichi Dragon which I have sold many, is a great deck but notoriously problematic. I would say when firing on all cylinders it's in the top 10 best made, but not THE best.
What's the best inexpensive deck in your opinion? I've had a few decent common grade vintage decks and I found the ones with the a big meaty transformer always sound better. That doesn't mean much but I found it true for me.
Any 3 head Teac deck is a good buy. They sound great and fly under the radar of the Audiophile nuts. @@bertroost1675
Those Darkstar skis are a pretty cool but I would like to add that Grateful Dead pass to my collection of Dead things it would look cool in the Mancave.
Yeaaah yeh well go buy it then buddy
I haven't been watching in awhile. Whatever happened to Vicky?
Gone, no one knows the details.
Grateful dead ⚘️⚘️⚘️⚘️⚘️
I really love a good Ruby cameo. ❤
The Grateful Dead takes me back to my childhood.
I would love the Grateful Dead pass!!
Another fantastic video. Loved the tape deck and I would also love the Grateful Dead gem!
The Grateful Dead
Grateful Dead 😀
You'll do fine on those Greatful Dead skis. I remember when they came out in the early 90s and a girl in my ski club got a pair and had bindings mounted and used them. That design was the first of the series and probably not many pairs left that were never drilled for bindings. Bird crap? C'mon, man. Just pretend it's on the back of your shirt - you're the clean-up expert! BTW, Jerry Garcia passed in '95 and that pass is from '96, so I'll pass on the pass. Hope whomever gets it enjoys it.
0:25 - Could have just did 91, 93, 95, 97 on one shoulder, then did the rest on the other shoulder, then edited to be correct afterwards! 😂🤣
I bought a Nakamichi Dragon at A33 in Yokosuka Japan, I sure wish I still had it.
Grateful Dead
Grateful Dead
Back in the day one of the og reseller tubers gilldaddys brother in law got a nakamichi dragon for 3 dollars in a goodwill on video, i found a regular nakamichi not dragon but it was still a 3 head i paid 5 sold it for 300 havent seen another nakamichi anything since, i remember back in like 96 97 my buddy had a nakamichi head unit powering his system in his car it was pretty sick
O hells yeah. Never wanted anything really with all these vids... and I've seen em all...but GRATEFUL DEAD. 🙏
8:52. i dOn'T liKE EbAY! tHEy taKe 20%! anD SEnd iT tOO cALIfoRnIa!!! i'D RATheR pAY YOu 50%!
Grateful Dead…..please let me win just one time Pete. Thanks for another entertaining video, poor Honey does not like being ignored.
Grateful dad
Grateful dead I have a great home for this in Scotland 😁🏴
How you gonna try and sell something with bird poop on it. You couldn’t be bothered to clean it first? Some people are so disgusting
I Love it !
He used to get almost a million views every video. But then people realize all he's doing is ripping people off. That are down and out on their luck or just wanna be on the youtube video, which is sad
Greatful Dead....another great video Pete. How's the cabin coming along?
Grateful Dead is my uncle's favorite band, he used to go see all the shows when he was younger. Absolute die hard deadhead
Grateful Dead. But I don't know why is says 1996. Jerry Garcia died in 95 and there was no Grateful Dead in 96....
Why not just film 90 92 94 96 then move her and film 91 93 95 97 and edit it. I was like noway he moved her for each number. 😅
I dont understand people not cleaning their items before they bring them in.
Jerry Garcia died in 1995. There was no Grateful Dead in 1996. The date of that pass is either wrong or it's not what you thought it was. Whatever this video is over a year old, just wanted to point that out.
Greatful Dead is my jam Pete. TIA if I win. HI EVERYONE ON RUclips!!!
Grateful Dead Hey Pete how have you been? It's been awhile since I visited you & the Trading Post maybe I'll stop by this summer & bring something interesting for you. Loving all the videos... keep it up
I would love the greafull dead pass. The skis are pretty cool to. One of my friends bought a pair brand new he loved them.
Steve will be missed. He was a fantastic addition to the Craiglist Hunter’s family team. R. I. P.
Nakamichi anything is worth picking up at the right price. Car enthusiasts thought they were the poop for Alpine back in the 90's. Nakamichi was available.
The Grateful Dead are awesome! Would love the pass and...I love your show!
If you think 'Audio Bliss' is going to come from ANY cassette player ever made, I got some news for ya. There was a reason for all the Dolby type band aids, and the BIC 3 3/4 setting, which helped A LOT, but a 60 minute cassette turned into a 30 minute cassette, and the 90 minute tapes were utter crap. And they STILL sucked. I can only think of one worse format, and that was those ludicrous 8 track units, the ones where the tape rubbed against itself constantly the entire time is was running. Whoever invented that came up with a HORRIFIC solution for a problem that didn't exist. I remember when we got our first Teac 4 channel, 10" real (A3340S), 15 ips deck to record and listen on.
It was the next step in audio heaven. Not hiss with some music marginally peaking out of it. Lugging the damned think up a couple of flights of stairs was a nightmare, though. We finally put one of those well made strap handles on the side, the ones that relax back onto the surface when not in use, and MY GOD did that thing help...still a pain, just a lesser one.
Now the first 'tiny tape' format PCM...OMG!...HEAVEN! Then it was a small case for the recorder, the mics, the phantom power unit, and the headphones. Now THAT was a recording rig. :-) You can have the old nail on plastic format, too, even with moving coil cartridges on great platforms with excellent tone arms, and the like. In most respects, MUCH better than cassettes, in a couple, FAR WORSE. Instead of massive clicks you get wow and flutter, the thing playing microphone, rumble, clicks, skips....arrrg. And that is WITH using stupid ass little brushes and fluid to clean and remove static (supposedly). I know, I'd complain if my nuts were in a vise, right? Now DVD A and above...that is audo bliss...at least as far as my ears can discern anymore, and THAT is what happens when you listen to music too loudly, just give it time. Blah blah blah, yada yada, what can I say?
If I won a giveaway and died I would be the Grateful Dead . I really wanted that 3” tape dispenser!!
If you just film you counting all the odd number postcards, move bird and film even numbers, (edit accordingly) would save some time. Love your videos
that is not the original switch lite cord
Grateful Dead.
Love the channel. Found it a couple of months ago and now I'm playing catch up.
Deadhead who has seen 70 plus Dead shows.
Honey is angry because you moved her bed without a study group, a focus group, and consulting with stakeholders.
Grateful Dead ✌🏻 we used Nakamichi microphones back in the day to record shows😉
Instead of doing still shots for each postcard, just make a short video. Hold it up for a second.. this way the video isn't all jarring to the eye.. it'll be one smooth video. Anyway, back to watching the video.. I just started.. I'm hoping I get to see why kitty was so mad today.
green heads red tails. pick a color! ... dude says green.... u say ok u want tails..... wtf u scamming people out here dood
Honey woke up and chose violence today.
That's a cool Grateful Dead pass. I'm down to try.
Those torpedo heaters would warm your cabin up in a jiffy ☺️ anything Grateful Dead , I would like to win ! Thanks Pete !
This is a good example of how pete works. I just sold my Switch on offer up for 140 with a case and backplate. He told him he can get maybe 130 and hes absolutely right. I love that he tells you straight up what people have sold it for and how much he can get. Such an honest dude. But this is also a great example of quick money vs money you can actually get for waiting
That torpedo heater in insane, thing looks dangerous as hell imagine the fumes that bad boy must give off. Grateful Dead heads will love those skis , they will make a cool wall hanger!
Interesting. A grateful dead laminate from 96? Jerry died in 95. Is there a story on that piece? It's cool! Just curious if there's a story on it like if they got printed ahead of the tour and that show never happened or something?
Green is heads reds is tails, which one you want..green. So you want tails? Yeah..Lol Peter you try pull a fast one?
Grateful Dead love the Skis and your video Pete sending love from Alabama.
Hi Pete, Nice buys this week thanks for showing them I'm Grateful. Dead chuffed to have watched it, lol x
Jerry Garcia died in August 1995 the band did not tour in 1996 actually they never toured as the Grateful Dead after 1995
Ha i noticed you changed up what each colored side represented on the coin flip so I anticipated you purposely doing some hijinx with that guy but you were on the up and up. How dare I question you. Ha! Love your videos Pete
Really like your electronics room I think I would like to purchase the Technics (Happ
I love your videos just found your channel just want to say hello from Somerset Kentucky
Next time after a customer wins the coin toss, say "OK, best two out of three" then immediately flip it again. As a joke of course. Be funny to see their reaction.
LMAO, the dude trying to sell the Nakamichi Dragon was operating on about 3 braincells.
I remember seeing Grateful Dead in the 90’s. Changed my life…. Especially when Bob Dylan was with. Love the vids. Keep ‘em coming!
And I saw Jimi Hendrix at woodstock but you don’t see me bragging about it all over the internet…
@@mendaciousreality8459come on man, people are just sharing about their experiences. It’s not bragging, there’s nothing malicious here.
GREATFULL DEAD, GREATFULL DEAD,
GREATFULL DEAD,
GREATFULL DEAD.
#1 DEAD HEAD FAN HERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GREATFULL DEAD,
GREATFULL DEAD,
Greatfull Dead.... Thanks for all of these oppurtunities to win cool stuff.
That “charger” for the Nintendo switch light is NOT the original one dude bought that from five below lol.
The Dragon was one of the first "old school" decks to use "state of the art computer processing" (as it was in the 80's) to totally analyze the tape and align the tape and the heads each time for "optimum" recording. It adjusted the bias and azimuth after "testing" the tape after you put it in. It played the for a moment and then recorded a signal onto it then made adjustments as needed. Even new it was finicky and difficult to use. How ever, the results were spectacular but it was a MAJOR investment. Typical high end decks were only a few hundred dollars $300-500 and the ~$2k price was hard to swallow. Pete is right, they dont come up that often in the open market - you will never see one at a flea market or Antique store, they mostly trade between high end collectors (similar to expensive Carver, SAE and other super high end stuff from that era.)
Wonder if that guy who you cant reach is still around... life is fragile here one moment gone another... hope he is alright tho... wierd that someone make deposit n vanished...
Grateful Dead lol I know I was at one of the earlier 90's shows, it's a bit of a psychedelic blur 💀
My mom always loved Grateful Dead. She actually had a Grateful Dead fleece blanket on her when she passed away on April 13th.
Grateful Dead! Enjoyed the video, this is one of the top resellers channel on youtube!!
