    Iam a weekend wedding photograper from Germany and I have been shooting with magmod products for many years and love em. I already ordered the xl set for my godox ad200s. @pye I have bought your online workshops and learned a lot. Thankyou and Madmod for those creative people out, helping create wonderful images for their clients. Thankyou

    Great job stylizing the light for the subject and mood, showing how simple it can be, especially with MagMod! I love their products! Well done, Pye!

    This is awesome. I suspect that you may not even need the sphere as the main light. Seems like the grid itself would have given it a good punch.

    Thanks for the video.
    You have an easy to understand way of explanation and demonstration.
    The mag mod modifiers look interesting.
    Can you or someone explain the use of a grid with a diffuser a little more?
    Grid and diffuser seem contrary to one another; reflector to collimate the light, grid to reduce the divergence, then a dome to increase the spill.
    Like how the parts can stack.
    And good to see work with Profoto.
    Thanks

    Hola Pye, me gustaría ver una comparativa entre un softbox MagMod y el XL con un esquema de iluminación básico como un Rembrant para saber la calidad de luz que ambos nos dan así tendría una idea clara que opción comprar, Saludos.

    Great work sir. Quick question 🙋🏿‍♂️ does the sphere defuse and redirect the light and soften it? I’m curious to know this I currently do not own the mag sphere small or xl, but I do have the 42 octa that I will try to test with. Thanks.

    Thanks for the video, Pye. Would you use this magmod diffuser instead of softbox?

    • @payamjirsa
      @payamjirsa Год назад +1

      I love both! Just depends on the look and goal of the shoot. Also portability plays a big factor for me. I tend to lean toward gear that's smaller and more portable.

    Hi Pye love the video. Now using the the magmod kit. Would you say this is a budget friendly system that can easily create some of the same lighting effects as the Roto lights ?

    • @payamjirsa
      @payamjirsa Год назад +1

      I don't use Roto lights much. I know what they do, but honestly I feel like these are going to get you much more versatility. Constant lights are nice, but there's a big trade when it comes to power and light quality.

    Beautiful images! Pye, have you compared say the 24” bag box to the new MagMod XL kit? In my brief testing using a 25” glow white interior beauty dish VSP the new XL with the wider spread grid, the results are very similar especially when the light modifiers are say 6-8ft away from the subject. However, haven’t noticed much of a difference so far between zooming the zoom reflector in or out at that same range. I would think we should get a bit more punch zooming it out since the light is more focused? Have you been able to test this? In all I’m loving the new XL for sure.

    • @payamjirsa
      @payamjirsa Год назад +1

      Thank you! I haven't done that exact comparison, but in general, once you get them around 6-8 feet in distance, they're going to become quite similar. But perhaps the MagMod team can weigh in here.

    • @jerrym8140
      @jerrym8140 Год назад

      @@payamjirsa That’s what I figured as well, I was doing that comparison as I usually shoot alone so was comparing using that scenario where the light is out of frame. I will do some test with lights closer as well. I will say, being alone usually and on even slightly breezy days it’s nice not having to really worry about a soft box blowing over. One of my test days was in a breeze and the soft box would wiggle a bit had a weight on it, but didn’t notice that happening with the MagModXL

    I haven't watched the video yet, but can Pye suggest some cheaper options, given that Magmod products are very expensive?

    • @MagnetMod
      @MagnetMod  Год назад

      Maybe consider checking out our open box sales - which we usually do once or twice a year where we sell products at discounts that are in excellent condition often with damaged boxes, but nothing wrong with the modifiers themselves. I heard we might have one coming up soon so be on the lookout for that.

    Disappointed that there is no Professional comparability with High quality gear like Elinchrom.
