Problem when using full fill with an extension like that (which is mainly glass) , there is no way that building would have enough UV value unless you put 600mm up in the roof to compensate. I've took loads of houses/extension down over the years and everyone one that had full fill, the top two courses of block had no inso left as the full fill just sags down over time especially as it draws moisture through the brickwork. Also vertical damps are defo building regs for all brickwork extensions. Not sure where your inspector is getting his info. Can check your local regs on line. @@SteveAndAlexBuild thanks for the reply Steve/Alex. I got into DIY and trades at 32 which was 2 years ago, when realising my only chance to afford my own home was to buy a run down property, and do as much as I can.
Of all the things I've read up on, I thick brickwork is the best. I'd love to be half as skilled as you one day. If I could turn back the clock, I think I'd have gone into it.
Marcus . Sounds good doing your own place up , best of luck with it Marcus 💪🏼🧱👍🏽
Lovely over hand work, a lot find it hard to keep the quality, you obviously don’t!
Thanks very much pal , I served my time building houses overhand and did hundreds of conservatries close to boundaries so overhand too. Also this was day work so we could take that bit of extra time .
Thanks for watching and commenting👍🏽
Lovely job lads but those board's are a bit flimsy for me as God and pharmaceutical products blessed me with size so I stay on the ground I can't snap that 😂😂😂
David Burt 😂😂😂
About 5 minutes 30 seconds in the video you see that young lad put in a three-quarter brick in not good that using profiles but not running to Bond
Lol then they put tape measure on it to hide it from the camera
Chris Whitehead . If you watch part 4 nobody is hiding anything . The wall is 4 m long which means there is a 3/4 in it somewhere . I decided to put it in the middle under the window so it’s there are only 8 under the window and 2 above , would you rather we put it against the house so there are 28 3/4’s on each side ? I always put any pieces in a wall under a door or window . Also what has a 3/4 in a wall got to do with using profiles .
@@SteveAndAlexBuild i work with a guy that hates 3/4 brick in any were so has stuck with me since.. and the comment was made by him so my apologies. C.K construction
@@SteveAndAlexBuild i think its lookin really good Ive bin watching your videos for a while and learn a few tricks of ur stuff
No worries mate , to be honest i hate pieces in any wall too . Architects could easily make walls work brick but dont bother . No need to apologise ,its good to have dicussions in the comments . Its a great place to swap ideas.
Thanks for watching and commenting on our channel we really appreciate it 👍🏽
That is the wrong type of thermal insulation to put inside a wall cavity. That type of insulation is less effective when it gets wet.
No it’s not mate 🧱👍🏽
That insulation you are using, should be banned, when moisture get in,it just gets wet,why no vents under damp,to keep cavity dry,
minecraft king cavities haven’t been vented for over 40 years mate . Any vents below dpc are for venting under the floor (block n beam or timber ) ours is a solid slab so no need to vent it. As for the insulation I’ve been using it for over 30 years and never had a problem .

Extension you spelt it wrong
Gaz The brickie . Yep I am a total lemon ! I’ve corrected all the titles and descriptions but the thumbnails are a bit trickier but I will get round to them as soon as I can .
Thanks for watching and pointing out my poor spelling 😂👍🏼
Be thrown off a house building site working like this sorry
kjrutter17 . Your right pal but a small extension in a garden just doesn’t warrant the expense and hassle of tagged scaffold and bean bags . We wear hard hats for 5 days of the week too so there is no way we are wearing them in a garden with nobody else working near us at the weekend 😬.
Thanks for watching and commenting 🧱👍🏼
Yeah point taken.... think i'm too used to the sites being overkill on everything lol
kjrutter17 . The worst new rule is no hoodies under your had hat ...... not fun when it’s 2 degrees and blowing a gale ❄️💨😬🥶
